Fantasy Football 247 FPL Team – GW2

Tips fantasy footballGW1 for the FF247 team resulted in a solid, but not spectacular 66pts. The highlights were certainly in the midfield where Ramsey, Fabregas and Sigurdsson all contributed double-figure returns, while two of our strikers, Rooney and Costa both scored – Rooney as captain doubled his tally to 14pts. There were a few disappointments also – United’s shocking home loss meant just 3pts combined from De Gea and Mata, while Chambers and Caulker, who we were hoping for clean sheets from, let us down by both conceding at home to Palace and Hull, respectively. Our third striker Jovetic brought home just 2pts and is a concern, especially with Aguero making a late impact as a goal scoring substitute. Fortunately, we weren’t left frustrated with points on the bench, with O’Shea and Ward scoring just a point each and Myhill and El Ahmadi not playing.

We have decided to hold our transfer for this week and run with what we have got for GW2, giving our underperforming players another chance to deliver. This gives us another week to study form and consistency of selection and of course two free transfers to look forward to next time. Jovetic we need to monitor, while we will also keenly keep an eye on Aguero when City host Liverpool on Monday evening. Our third striker is an interesting situation and if we decide to move early into Aguero, we will need to raise funds, but that is a thought for next week. We are fortunate that we own Fabregas and Siggy, two of the most popular transfers by managers leading into GW2. Mata has been a popular seller in FPL this week, but we feel relaxed in keeping him in this week, on the assumption that LVG has spent the week laying into his side and demanding an improvement.

Calum Chambers is another to keep a close eye on as Mertesacker nears a return, but we have cover on the bench if necessary so will look forward to ride the Chambers train as long as possible.

So it’s an unchanged squad and an unchanged starting XI this week –

Captain
With Chelsea impressing at Burnley in GW1, it was a simple decision in handing Costa the armband this week as he makes his home league debut vs Leicester. A goal on his debut will have settled any nerves or doubts the striker had of adjusting to life in the Premier League and we are hoping he kicks on vs the Foxes. Should something unexpected happen Costa and he does’t play then our Vice-captain is Sigurdsson at home to Burnley as we feel both form and fixture favour him over the others such as Rooney or Mata.

  1. So let’s take a look into Pottys World!
And a review of my Mwk 1score.
Power of Potty bagged 82 points and has an overall ranking of 2,007!

Gk=Lloris – 7pts…..The spurs stopper started well and will never leave my team.
Df=Senderos – 6pts…..I am a fan of this Swiss giant and under Keano’s guidance is a shoe in.
Df=Gibbs – 1pt…..His injury was a blow but he went on Sunday ahead of any price fall.
Df=Van Aanholt – 4pts….. This Mackem is pure dynamite as his overlapping runs will bring me many points.
Mf=Sterling – 13pts….. The lad has matured and if you don’t have him your Doomed.
MF=Ramsey – 10pts…..Engine room of the Gunners and he will get better and better.
MF=Fabragas – 22pts…..Captain Fabragas for one sole reason? Burnley were always going to be cavalier at home and I felt Fabragas would expose them gaps,I was proven right.
MF=Silva – 9pts…..Man City’s passing master who will outshine YYT this season.
Fw=Giroud – 1pt…..This was my only disappointment of the weekend as Wenger benched him! But no panic in my camp as 90mins of play in Turkey says Olly will score this weekend.
Fw=Rooney – 7pts…..The shrek did well in a Man Utd defeat! But a trip too Sunderland with RVP starting means points again for sure.
Fw=Riviere – 2pts…..I saw enough of him pre-season to know he scores goals and because of this he ain’t going nowhere.

My thoughts…..I refused too invest in Costa as I wanted a balanced Squad, also his Spanish stats showed he netted more times on the road for Athletico than at home and he will breakdown with an injury now and then.
I have removed Gibbs and bought……….. Now why would I tell you this?
Friday night on Twitter at 10pm my Weekly captain tip gets chirped out.
    Potty

    • Potty your have it all won by christmas :big-lol:

      • I reckon Gibbs for Chester, there’s gold and mud in them Tiger Feet, plus change

      • Bench
I am thinking BH Monday on winning it.
        Potty

        • Great start mate , and once again King Of League 1 , is that record of your breakable ?

        • Bench
          No chance
I am Roy Castle of the Banterbury League’s
          Potty

        • Your sure buddy , for those that don’t know potty won his first 10 H2H Games last season, and was unbeaten for the first 13 !!! try and beat that record then !!

  2. West Brom head coach Alan Irvine has vowed not to rush new signing Cristian Gamboa into making his Premier League debut.

“He won’t be involved this weekend (at Southampton on Saturday) and it might be a big ask for him to be involved in the game at Swansea.

“So we’re probably looking at him coming back after the international break.”

  3. Evening fellas.
Im off to a solid start with 69 points. Im a bit gutted I let 15 points or so rot on the bench in V.Aanholt and Clyne but it certainly makes my defensive options more appealing for this gameweek. Can I get a quick RMT for GW2.

This week I am carrying my transfer over to GW3.

    Krul (Begovic)
    Lovren, V.Aanholt, Clyne (Chambers, Baird)
Mata, Ramsey, Sterling, Sigurdson (Davis of Soton)
    Costa (C), Rooney, Dzeko

Would u go with Lovren or with Chambers ???

    All replies welcome, cheers. Rips

    • i’d go with Chambers as i like the Arse-Eve matchup more than i do Pool-Citeh. If Chambers doesn’t start Lovren will come off the bench anyway

    • I’d favor Chambers over Lovren, for all of Man City’s faults in the Charity Shield game it was business as usual when they were back to EPL action and I’d fancy them to be this seasons top scorers as well. Not sure how Lukaku looked against Leicester but with Mirallas not having any game time yet and Barkley being injured it might just be a good time to visit Everton for the Arsenal.

I’d have Lovren in front of Baird on the bench in case Chambers doesn’t start.

  4. @Andy, you get my email this week?

    • Yep, Saturday 1pm, I’ll be ready.

      • Ok, see you there. Just need that loon Potty to join and the league is all set.

  5. Marouane Fellaini faces an extended spell on the sidelines after sustaining a leg injury in training.

    • sounds more like a continuation of his extended spell on the sidelines, no?
as a Man U fan how do you rate him? seems to me like he’s been a disappointment since joining

    • Bad news mate. Think he was on the list to be offloaded. Would mean money, now he will devalue even more.

      • As a Liverpool fan, this news makes me happy :)))))

        • Shrugs. As a fan of football injured players should never please you.

        • On that note, him being injured will mean more playing time for Kagawa which is good news for United… 😉

  6. i’ve been popping in & out all day and may have missed the answer, but did anyone figure out why Siggy didn’t go up another 0.1 last night?
