Fantasy Football 247 League Round Ups February
Welcome one and all to the February FF247 leagues round up. Well I must say its nice to be back, I have tended to my personnel business, got new batteries in my hearing aid and given my jam jar glasses a good clean, so I’m raring to go. Thanks to my young apprentice for standing in at short notice and writing a great article for the month of January. I had a great meeting with Stevie G and Bruce Arena, all is looking swell for the LA Galaxy. Stevie has been given the number 8 shirt, which he is happy about, but there was some argument over taking the captaincy and penalty duties off former Liverpool team mate Robbie Keane, which are still to be resolved. There is also talk of Stevie building a brand new mansion not far from Liverpool, does this mean he could be loaned back to Anfield from LA Galaxy? We shall have to wait and see. Anyway on with the round-up.
FF247 Overall League. 
Top of the podium in the overall league is David Ross with his team ‘Rossaldinho’, David has achieved a grand total of 1650 pts so far. In 2nd place, with 1647 pts is team ‘Suarez ate my team’ with owner Ben Martin. 3rd goes to Stephen Gayton… Qual, with his team ‘LFSteve’ and a total of 1640 pts. The 3 guys mentioned have also hit lofty heights in the global rankings, their positions being 82nd, 90th and 156th respectively, positions which would give most of us nosebleeds, well done to all 3 of you. 4th + 5th positions go to Sakari Uutela with team ‘Oulunkylan Tahti’ and Andy Gaskell with team ‘Pretty in Pink’, both having 1637 and 1624 pts respectively
FF247 Manager Of The Month.
Gold medal position for February goes to Rishad Islam who managed to achieve 263 pts over the 4 gameweeks with his team ‘Hunain F C’. Team ‘James United’ took silver for James MacKenzie with a total of 258 pts. We had a tie in bronze medal position with Dan Treeby and Akshay Salunke each gaining 252 pts with their respective teams ‘Inter Young Boys’ and ‘Akshays Warriors’. In 5th just 1 pt behind bronze was Soud Abdallah Soud with his squad ‘SAS United’.
FF247 Doubles League.
Top of the shop are NZ Alex & Peaky Dave with their team ‘North South Divide’, this pairs joint efforts have amassed 1585 pts so far, this total also gives them a global ranking of 1669, which I think is great for a doubles team. 2nd position goes to team ‘Potty Morbid FC’ with a total of 1540 pts for our old friends Potty and Morbid. Team ‘The two Uniteds’ are just 3pts further back in 3rd place with a total of 1533 for owners Silvers & PvR. In 4th and dropping like a whore’s knickers, are ‘The Boss’ Init and my good self with 1521 pts for our team ‘Aditupem’, as pointed out by my apprentice in last month’s article, our cheating looks to have been found out???? 5th spot goes to the pairing of Monty + Norfolk, with their team ‘Le$bian Lion$’ with a total of 1500 pts.
Congratulations to all mentioned, and if you are not, as in the case of our regular poster ‘Razman’ keep plugging away, it will come good eventually. That is it for February, I’m off to commit a crime or two, so I will see you all at the end of March.

Hi shane, nothing particularly jumping out as being an issue really for you for next week as of yet. Sit tight and see what happens over the weekend and next week with the CL games I guess.

Hey tards. Have Austin/Eriksen/Kane(C) left to play this GW, they have to play since I dropped another +1k places. SIghs.
Anyway, this is the team for the next GW. Am I set? Was sick and tired of people dissing my defence, so I made some changes last night.
I might cap Sanchez by the way. Though, Burnley away should be good for Kun, especially since he’s done nothing in his last game.
ANd yes, I know crazy, I already used two transfers and one cost me a hit. :dance:

Might even consider not buying back Costa as it stands now. NOt even for GW34 (DGW). If I want I can though, Just have to downgrade either Terry or Iva to a cheaper defender and Eriksen to Mane. Enough money to up Austin to Costa.
With triple Chelsea already, there’s probably not much point in ditching one to get Costa. Well, if he’s scoring goals for fun around that time then yeah, fair enough, he’ll have to be bought. Other than that, i’d stick if i were you.
Sanchez was awesome again yesterday by the way. Really showed he’s way more skill than Santi/Ozil. Glad I still have him. Was a hard decision. Dropped Santi for Eriksen, Defoe for Austin wasn’t a hard decision. Took me a 4 point hit and it has already paid off, I think. Let me check:
Eriksen and Austin minus four is 11-4 which is 7 points (with another game at hand). Santi and Defoe is 2+2 is 4. Already made 3 points.
If only I had the money to do Wisdom to Rose, because Wisdom dropped yet another 0.1m the night before I was 0.1m short. :rant:
I see you stand where I was standing a few weeks back. That’s just 30 points from where I am now. Hope to end top 5k. Must end top 10k I think. With the players I have that shouldn’t be a problem. Though, I am taking more risks as of late.

I think so too. I’m pretty confident that Austin will score against Spurs. He played really well against Arsenal and scored a wonderful goal. A tired Spurs may only get a draw from that game. 2-2 would be nice

Okay, don’t wish that on the kid. Anyway, Rose owners are kind of lucky. Only chance of Spurs defender getting points is when they assist or score. So maybe better I didn’t get him.

Naah man, that’s not cool. Spurs still have a terrible defence so them losing a CS is very likely. Rose is interesting goes he has goal potential and assist potential. Wouldn’t touch a Spurs defender if that wasn’t the case. Hugo Lloris might be the best option even. Dude makes a lot of saves (which again says a lot about the Spurs defence).

Looking for suggestions on what to do this week.
Currently have 1FT and 1.7m in the bank.
Not sure whether to hold off till next week and get Costa in for Austin and downgrade a midfielder?
Team looks awesome mate. I’d keep FT as long as possible. I had to use mine since several sites said Baines was dropping (which of course he didn’t do). And had no spare money to do the transfers I wanted if that happened. But you look good. Austin is showing some awesome skills and I think QPR will be desperate the last few games, meaning they will score more and they will concede more.

Yeah Austin looks to be picking up form again, it just feels so weird having 2 “budget” strikers.
Keeping my FT may be for the best but it’s so difficult, especially with no games till the 14th.
Your team looks fairly strong. One thing i would suggest is maybe getting some Liverpool coverage in there. They are red hot recently and i myself will be picking up Skrtel this GW. Cazorla -> one of their midfielders looks a good bet.
Yeah they do seem to have turned things around but are you not wary of Man U and Arsenal in the next 3 games?
I know in a month or so their fixtures till the end of the season are very favourable.
Not really. I’m a United fan and i can safely say that we should be a lot more worried about them than they should be about us! The Arsenal game should be a closer contest but i’d still expect Liverpool to score at least one against them.

Who do you think will pick up the most points from now till the end of the season, Sterling or Courtinho?
Yeah we were very lucky indeed. One bit of crazy defending and that was that. A draw would have been fair i think. On current form i would go for Coutinho, but there’s not a lot in it at all.
