Fantasy Football 247 League Updates September
Hello everyone and welcome to the September round up of the FF247 leagues. So how did everyone do this month? Injuries were more common than a scouser in a car park and managers were dreading to be the first one to get the bullet, so lets see who managed to steer their teams through the mine field that is fantasy football and top our compliment of leagues. Any successful managers will be added to our Hall of Fame which is coming soon.
FF247 League
Top spot in this league has stayed with Tom Farmer, who was also top in August with his team ‘Blame It On Debuchy’. Tom had amassed 394 points up to the end of September and was sitting pretty in 6th overall in the world, keep up the good work Tom. (The pic above includes this weeks scores that include week 1 from October). 2nd spot goes to Gerrie Pistorius, with his team ‘Pick_And_Hope’ on 387pts, and that points haul took him to 27th in the world. A further 6pts back in 3rd with 381 is team ‘Societa Esportive77’ and owner Boblewo-Garutti Brasil, who has also stuck around in the top 5 for 2 months. 4th place goes to Jaye Williams with his team ‘FC Yayunomi’ on 379 pts. In 5th, a further 5pts back with 374,was Hammad Mudassar and his team ‘Fantastic 11’.
FF247 Manager Of The Month
Top spot for September goes to A Khan with his team ‘Disneyland’, he managed to achieve 190pts from only 3 gameweeks, this score had also propelled him to 44th in the FF247 league. Ivan Bosnjak with his team ‘Leafs FC’ pushed for top spot all the way but finished just 1pt behind to take 2nd place with 189pts. Konrad Wojtowicz and Richard Prowse came in with 187pts to tie for 3rd spec with their respective teams ‘Gooners FC’ and ‘Tinkerman United’. 5th place went to Richard Jagers team ‘Wolf Pack’ with 185pts.
FF247 Doubles League
The overall positions in this league are changing every gameweek and top spot at the end of September goes to Timmy + Cartman, alias our Colombian friend Mito + his sidekick Suarez, with their team ‘We Will Bite You’ and a respectable haul of 339pts, NZ Alex + Peaky Dave fought tooth and nail to reach 1st place but just failed finishing 2nd by 1pt on a total of 338. 3rd spot went to an unknown entity, Mr + Mrs Facepalm, with their team ‘No Hope Bob Hope’ who since the start of the season have been slowly picking up momentum to achieve 335pts. Last seasons champions Aditupem have dropped from 1st to 4th place with 330pts. In 5th spec are the up + coming FF247 article writers Calvin + Chins, they appear to have dropped off the pace a bit on 319pts with their team ‘Belly + Clyne’ but will probably blame it on their time writing superb articles rather than amassing points.
Well folks that’s it for September, so congratulations to everyone mentioned. Don’t forget there are only 3 gameweeks in October as we have another international break. Good luck to all for the next month, especially young Tom Farmer, keep the flag flying for FF247 with that high overall ranking.
Morning all,
Thanks to Elle for the update on the leagues – well done to A.Khan, whoever you are, for winning manager of the month! And a special mention to Richard Prowse, our very own Floydeth for an excellent month and start of the season. Great performance by him and his selection team.
Cookie,
Morning mate.
Yeah well done Rich – we’re all after the Tinkerman.
Morning GP, all well ?
Excellent Cookie thanks.
Team not too bad at the weekend. Looks like, by a fine margin, Aguero was the correct choice between the big two but I’ll admit, I was nervous yesterday after Costa scored his goal!
Sitting about 18,241 just now and averaging 57 per week across the first seven. I’m happy with that.
I think I’ve abandoned my Baines plan but not because he missed that penalty yesterday – simply, I can’t drop a midfielder for him.
Yes I read that this morning and got me doubting.
With 2fts for GW8…and with Moreno and Ulloa lurking annoyingly in my squad, it seems obvious to upgrade both to Baines and Welbeck. Both have favourable fixtures and a definite upgrade.
However – it would mean losing Sterling (Fab & Di Maria are going nowehere).
Now I could bring in Downing or Lampard – probably Downing.
I quite like the moves (obv I would rather Sterling than Downing but feel the total of the new 3, Downing, Baines and Welbeck, will outscore Moreno, Sterling and Ulloa).
I say you said Sterling is going nowhere for you – but in my situation can you understand my logic and do you agree with it?
My front 8 would be:
Siggy, Chadli, Downing, ADM, Cesc
Costa, Welbeck, Kun.
Weekly decisions on who to bench, but actually looking through the fixtures its not a bad little outlook.
Appreciate what you or others think please.
Cookie,
Sterling has been on and off my possible ‘makeweight’ list for a couple of weeks but I thought to at least give him this decent little run of fixtures to prove himself. The assist at the weekend was a little reminder from him.
I think the three you propose probably would outscore the other three over the course of the season. And you have some nice options there I’ll admit. Because I have gone expensive across the forward positions I have had to make do with Boyd of Burnley who will always be benched but you can chop and change so I do like that idea.
I’m considering Moreno out this week and looking at getting Chelsea or City in. Considering Kolarov and Azpilicueta. Azpi is fairly obvious and can drop back easily w
enough to Filipe Luis IF he ever gets in. Kolarov I take a risk with – I do have back up in case he is rotated but I just always think he looks awesome n attack when he does play.
Cookie- It does make sense, but does the decision on who to bench each week not annoy you? Like GP said I also have boyd and he just sits on the bench with a constant 2 pnts but at least I know that I will never have that annoyance of leaving points on the bench. I like the Baines move and am trying to work him in myself. I don’t however want to lose Sterling for it. Considered dropping Fab but think that’s just silly. although if you look at overall points, Chadli is right up there with Fab!
GP, for your Kolarov see my Lampard!! I like both shouts, though as we are both aware gametime risk is a concern. The problem with City is that Pell
makes plenty of subs so even when either is not started they invariably come on.
I think in your position I would go with Azpi out of the two. Less attacking, but more
solid at the back. And at this time a defo starter for the best team in the league.
And to back it up a bit I had Di Maria, Costa capo and Fabregas (plus Clyne) all playing y’day and thought I would rise a few places from 25k. I went down to 41k!! I can only assume I got hurt by not having a Chelsea defender (and also Naismith’s goal!), so maybe that tips your thinking to Azpi?
Sorry, forgot to say in reply to your original post, great scoring this
season mate, it’s been a tough few weeks eh?!
GP- I would rather Mangala than Kolarov. He is just too unreliable, and also Mangal has had quite a few opportunities from corners
Migs
Mangala is being considered as well mate thanks. Still feel he will be rested at times well as Pell loves Demichelis as we know.
Hey Migs,
the bench scenario is tough and sometimes annoying, but better to have choice than no choice surely? I have had Chadli four weeks, benched me for three of them and guess the week he chose not to perform!!!
So yes, it is an issue – but the fixture run for the combo of mids, means it won’t always be a hard choice as to who to leave out (on paper at least!)
Cookie
So long as we know the risks!
Milner seemingly holding down his place as well just now!
It has been tough recently, all the more reason to be satisfied with my shooting.
Morning Cookie I would say Sterling would be the obvious choice to down grd its hard to get a stong Mf when you have Kun & Costa in your side but Downing a good option
thanks Silver – can’t believe I’m talking about bloody Downing!!
Rich will want credit. 😉
thankfully he won’t ever read this :hippo:
I like the team names with wordplay, such as 1,9 and 10 with musical references. We should have a poll on it, for the best name.
Thanks Elle, nice round up. Good to see one of my teams doing well and great going Rich, Tom, Mr. Bean and Boblewo. As I recognize you guys, but in general good going to all of you who made the top 10 in the overall or manager of the month competitions.
Thanks for the leagues update Elle. Nice work mate.
elle,
Nice roundup mate. Don’t see my name anywhere in the singles. Must be some mistake. I’ll await you rectifying it
How many players are there in the 247 league ?
1,736 with 4 to be added this week.
