Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 11
Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 11 article. If we said that six of our team all scored 3 points or less this week then you’d maybe expect that this would then lead onto a story of sorrow and despair. It just goes to show what having a minority of decent performers can actually produce though as we managed a fairly respectable 79 with a load of hallowed green arrows in all the right places. Cech, Walker, Pieters, Sterling, Capoue and Deeney are the players doing the walk of shame. Holebas, Firmino, Sanchez, Aguero and Lukaku can all hold their heads high, if they can shoulder the weight of our team. They carried us through to a small rise in the rankings from 57k to 39k. It’s not ground breaking but at this stage it’s acceptable. We do have a small confession to make this week though…! We voted for, and subsequently published, that we would captain Deeney last week. That was our intention, albeit a bad one, with the benefit of hindsight. Fortunately, as such… we didn’t actually captain him, we inadvertently captained Sanchez. We didn’t actually notice the faux-pas until we checked the score on Saturday evening. It was a net gain of just 11 points but that probably represented a good few thousand places in the rankings. We did the transfers but we just failed to confirm the final team. It happens to the best of us. And we’re delighted to say it happened to us this week!
Transfer #1: Capoue to Gundongan
We had a transfer saved in the bank this week and we felt it was a good opportunity to fix a couple of issues so we unleashed both.
We rarely make an early transfer but we did this one on Tuesday as he was going up in price and he was also clearly on fire! Given his form allied to City’s fixtures and his bargain price this one was a no-brainer for us. When he was signed it was expected he would be just another cheap DM with little or no FPL value, and his price reflected that, but he’s proven to be a box to box midfielder with goals in his locker. Think Yaya Toure about 3 years ago, but about 4 stone lighter, an actual work ethic and an agent who isn’t a w@nker.
Transfer #2: Deeney to Austin
This is what happens when you don’t score 3 against Hull, we just sell you. Let that be a warning to you Mr Austin! We hope it’s one he heeds as he’s ours now, or at least he is until he either fails or another ‘3rd’ forward presents themselves with either better fixtures or better form. Hull may have finally put a resistance last week but this one still makes sense all round, especially given that it’s for free.
THE NEW TEAM IN FULL FOR Gameweek 11!
Our captain is (possibly ) Sergio Aguero and our vice captain is Charlie Austin
Unanimous. That probably says it all. As a bonus treat we even double checked that we saved it this week…
If anyone is interested in following the site teams progress then you can do so here and we wish you all the best of luck this week with your own teams.

Fixture Tracker – the next 6 games
Team
GK Pickford Grant
D Walker Holebas McAuley Kingsley Smith
M Sanchez Sterling Capoue Walcott Snodgrass
F Zlatan Aguero Diomande
I have been scoring poorly for weeks and decided to hold Zlatan as he is still getting off a lot of shots and should have scored last week. He has a good fixture this week and if i transfer him out Im sure he will score. Walcott is doubtful and Snodgrass and Diomande are both out. I dont want to play more than 3 defenders with their fixtures.
So option A Snodgrass and Sterling out for Hazard and Allen (if Walcott is out then I have to play four defenders)
B Walcott and Snodgrass out for Coutinho and Allen or Gundagon
C Snodgrass and Diomande out for Allen and Callum-Wilson
What do you think please?
B for me, no Liverpool coverage is possibly what’s been killing you a bit. As well as Zlatan of course! But you’re right to hold him for this week.
Newsman, option C for me – get rid of the crocks and the naughty boys.
i will say B
and next out of door will be diomande
Would you make any changes to this lot? Any news on Walcott?
Not seen anything yet and that will dictate what you do I feel so just hang fire until we know later on.
Kickers, Walcott trained yesterday so the signs are good. I would probably leave it as you have it mate.
Cheers guys
Would anyone recommend me selling Rashford for Austin for a -4pt hit? I have been (relatively) disciplined this season so am a bit loathed to take the hit especially as a Rashford goal will likely be enough to justify holding him. However, Austin home to Hull and on pens…….
…although we have seen the danger of chasing one-week wonders vs Hull.
I’d throw the dice Cookie. Rashford out wide in an underperforming team at the minute. If you don’t get Austin and he goes wild you’ll drop down the rankings a lot more then you would taking a -4 hit… Think of it as an insurance policy.
YES please..
they beat inter easily.
now hull, come on!!
They didn’t beat Inter easy!! They won 2-1 with an own goal!!
Thanks for the advice to you both anyway.
Not sure if I’m offering anything but I wouldn’t. Can go either way of course and the other lads here have provided sound cases for doing so
Would anybody consider tripple cpt on aguero this week..
DC
It is generally better to hold the triple capitain for a double GW.
Actually, the all bench for a first DGW, and the triple capitaincy for a second one…
Don’t forget that Boro were savvy enough to hold Arsenal to a 0-0 away a couple of weeks back. Not saying they won’t concede here but I can’t see it being a free for all thumping.
True enough chaps thank you..I’ll hold
Good luck FF247!
:ok:
Yo lads, what would you do with this? 0FT 1.5 ITB. I don’t mind taking a hit, I think, because my bench is completely useless for this week!
A. Hold
B. -4 for Prodl to Fuchs
C. -8 for Walcott/Williams to Hazard/4.4 def
D. -8 for Walcott/Williams to Pedro/Fuchs
Neo – it’s between A and B for me but I’d probably avoid the hit as you still might be fielding 11 anyway, I’m on the Walcott will play camp…
A for me.
Generally, hits for defenders rarely pay off.
And it is unlikely that Hazard or Pedro will get more than 8 points than Wally, even if he does not start!
