It seems like an age ago, but it’s time to quickly reflect on the performance of the FF247 team in GW29 before moving onto our transfer plans for GW30. If you remember we took a hit last week due to Eden Hazard’s injury and it worked out ok as our new recruit Josh King weighed in with a late assist in Bournemouth’s win over Swansea – the fact he was awarded 2bps made it all the more sweeter. The week turned out well – we scored 76pts, net 72 after the hit compared to the average of 47, which resulted in another green arrow – we now stand at 39,396. Like many teams, the highlight was Captain Romelu, who like King, left it late but delivered an assist and then two injury time goals for a 16pt haul, doubled to 32. Christian Eriksen, Seamus Coleman and Jordan Pickford all contributed useful totals to beef up our score – even Andy “Eeyore” Carroll assisted and that alone allowed us to forgive the uselessness of Mane, Siggy, Llorente, Walker and Pieters.

Our transfer this week is: Selling Seamus Coleman and buying Antonio Valencia
Poor old Seamus had done us proud and would likely have been a season keeper despite his lack of a DGW. However, he dared to take on the Welsh on a Friday night – never a good idea with that lot. Poor old Seamus came off worse in a ‘challenge’ from Neil ‘he’s not that type of player’ Taylor. Taylor received a red card, Coleman received a double break in his leg and is unlikely to play again this calendar year at the earliest. Unlike some, we showed our favourite full back some respect and refused to sell him immediately – that would of been heartless and Welsh-like. We looked at all possibilities and with Man United’s DGWs coming up we unanimously decided to replace Coleman with Antonio Valencia who has either kept a clean sheet, scored or assisted in seven of the last eight game-weeks.
We are playing our AOA chip this week. We didn’t fancy Stoke’s chances of a clean sheet at Leicester and with Josh King in good form we have decided to play him over Erik Pieters. It’s a throw away chip anyway as we all know and we are running out of weeks in which we could use it.

The Team in full this week…

Our captain is: Eden Hazard
The committee has voted for Hazard to take the armband as he faces a home match vs relegation threatened Crystal Palace. With 11 goals and 7 assists already this term, the Belgian is the clear standout choice – we hope! Siggy is the vice just in case Haz doesn’t make it after his latest injury scare which forced him to miss Belgian’s recent internationals.

That’s our team anyway. Don’t be shy to let us know yours or to ask advice of fellow managers ahead of the deadline. A problem shared is a problem halved and all that. Or more likely, simply complicated even further!
