Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 31
Cutting straight to the chase this week, as time is of the essence, we scored 50 points in GW30 which was 10 above the average and it saw us register yet another green arrow, which is now 10 of those in the last 13 weeks. It’s ‘slowly, slowly catchy monkey’ though it seems as we’ve only actually risen by 30,000 places in all that time! This week we jumped up 5k to 34,416 overall. We aren’t complaining of course, it all just feels a bit laborious! A bit like our team itself this week actually as there was nothing to get excited about individually, it was more of a collective effort with just the odd goal or assist, here or there. Valencia and Nyom shared a 0-0 which suited our clean sheet bank, Captain Hazard grabbed an assist, Mane and Carroll a goal apiece. And that was pretty much it. This week’s site team meeting was hasty and a bit heated as a result! One naughty schoolboy was even slapped on the wrist and sent away to check his homework as a result of insubordination and cheek. After that the adults continued and here’s what we decided on…
Our transfer this week is: Selling Sadio Mane and buying Alexis Sanchez
Ideally we didn’t want to be doing this ahead of ‘Bournemouth at home’, but such is FPL sometimes, best laid plans and all that… Sadio was unfortunately crocked in the derby but fortunately we had a healthy bank of £3.2mln which was probably always planned and destined to fund an Alexis move at some point in the next few weeks given his imminent DGW’s. We’ve simply brought that decision forward a bit.
West Ham are this weeks opponents and they haven’t won in their last 6, losing the last 4 straight. Away from home in their last 2 they’ve conceded 3 at Bournemouth and 2 at Hull. If Alexis is even slightly on form here he should be able to repay our faith in him.
The Team in full this week…
Our captain is: Alexis Sanchez
The new man has the armband for what we hope will be his 9th double-digit score of the season. The Chilean returned 23pts vs the Hammers in the reverse fixture in GW14 with a hatty and an assist. Same again please pal.

MAN CITY team news – Pep says Bacary Sagna will be missing for another 2-3 weeks, so Pablo Zabaleta will likely fill in at right back at Chelsea. The only other definite absentees are Ilkay Gündogan and Gabriel Jesus. Jesus is in the final stages of his recovery and was able to run on the training pitch yesterday for the first time – Pep is hopeful that the striker will return for the final few matches of the season, though a firm timeline is impossible to give right now.
And that, ladies and gentlemen is that. All the team news has been brought together into one comment on the first page of this article.
Good luck and don’t miss the 6.45pm deadline tonight!
Cookie thanks again mate… so much for not writing an article 😉
I’d say it’s been helpful but it’s only frustrated me regarding Origi and whether or not he’ll play.
me too Milburn, i can’t decide what to do.
His comments definitely don’t fill you with confidence about him starting but you look at his stats and they’re impressive so I don’t know why.
He also seems to be favouring Sturridge when I was under the impression he wasn’t keen on the crock.
Not sure I completely agree Milburn – I think he’s run out of patience with Sturridge and has doubts about whether Origi is good enough. However, it would appear one of them has to start now. I think Origi starts tomorrow, but after that who knows?
Sturridge will be injured again before long anyway.
Cookie,
Many thanks for the comprehensive ATG. You should get overtime for this one!
I’ve always respected your wisdom and foresight Kl
Hoe does this look guys? Not sure on Firmino/Coutinho or even Eriksen. Any suggestions?
Out of the 3 I’d go Eriksen.
Milburn. don’t you fancy Firmino/Coutinho against B’Mouth?
Obviously it’s a great fixture but perhaps I’m looking at decisions for the remainder of the season now. Spurs obviously have a double and nobody knows whether or not Liverpool will struggle without Mane as they did during the AFCONs.
Saying that, I’m considering a punt on Origi so….
Haha..I think I’m going to go with Eriksen too.
“Too much confusion, I can’t get no reief”
firmino big time..look at the fixture list 😉
Personal observation is that Firmino drops to the flanks when Mane is out whilst Origi starts upfront.. Firmino doesn’t score well when placed there
Cookie you going with Origi?
Dunno yet Snookie, can’t decide mate. It’s annoying me.You?
Think I am going to take chance on him, lad wants to show he is good enough that should make him favourable I hope and about Sturridge it’s only a matter of time till he visits hospital again. Bournemouth defense should help too
Bad english lol, you get the point! He wants to score, should score and that should make him favourable for next gw too ahead of Sturridge that is !
Be prepared for bench time also Snookie. The way I see it, 25mins of Origi is probably better than 90 of Llorente and may just fill a gap until Gabbiadini is fit.
Yeah but think he will start and will be subbed around 70 something, atleast I hope and don’t want to talk about Llorente he doesn’t deserve it
WC Gameweek 31
That; looks really good ! Just hope that ManU are in contention for top 4 or else you will need to dump them and Valencia doesn’t look to start this gw
I’d swap Ranocchia out for Gibson and both keepers for Pickford and Hennessey. All have dgw’s.Your’e gonna have a benching problem every week. You must have some decent team value there ??
Thoughts on this? I’ve already transferred Mane to Coutinho but am thinking of a hit for Llorente towards Origi.
1.5 ITB and bench is crappy – Robles, Stones, Obiang, Amat
Personally think it could work out like his stint in December when he played as forward – for what it’s worth, this could mean Firmino dropping to the flanks and not scoring well
And thanks Cookie for the ATG update despite the short notice, really appreciate it!
Good looking squad there Neo. Can you do Obiang to Zaha and play him instead?
Yes mate I could, didn’t think of that. But do you think it might further cause a problem a few weeks down when I need to sell Llorente to free up some funds if I do switch to 3-5-2? Long term plan personally is Gabbi but there’s so much uncertainty with that move…
Neo, Zaha has double in GW34. good on form..Was thinking of bringing him in myself but had to get some Spurs cover. so, the pla has been postponed to next week. But, I’d get him if I were in your situation
Hi guys,
First of all thanks Cookie for all these updates
I need your advice. I was tempted to active my WC and did two early transfers on Sunday night, Sane and Llorente out for Tadic and Vardy (-4)
My team attached, do you think I’m ready to go, take another hit or should I continue with my WC plan?
Thanks!
Sorry Mane (and not Sane) out
Papyrus,
leave it as it is – it looks fine for this week.
Cheers Cookie
