Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 9
Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 9 article. One Jose Holebas, there’s only one Jose Holebas, one Jose Holebas! We’ll come back to our favourite Greek in a moment. With the average score for GW8 being 39pts it’s safe to suggest that we weren’t the only ones to have a shocker. We ended up with 45pts which resulted in a red arrow dropping us to 66,878 in the rankings. To be honest it could have been worse. Our captain, a certain Sergio Aguero finished the gameweek on a minus score thanks to his penalty miss. We’re pretty sure that’s the first time our captain has contributed a negative score. So back to Holebas. Thanks to a goal, a clean sheet and three baps he finished with 15pts which was a massive 33% of our total. Elsewhere our new signing Adam Smith picked up 5pts while Lukaku & Sanchez weighed in with a goal and an assist. As for the rest, the less said the better. And so we bid farewell to GW8 and move on to GW9.
Transfer: Leighton Baines OUT – Erik Pieters IN
This wasn’t so much our usual group argument, more like a family friendly creche snooze fest in the end. We had many questions to address –
Sterling to Walcott?
Yes it makes sense in terms of Wally… But should we really be selling Sterling with his fixtures?
Probably not.
Do we really want Rashford this week?
Probably not… But look at his next two games
Should we not do something about Capoue / Fletcher?
Yes! But probably not this week.
An Arsenal defender would be ideal..
Of course, but we can’t afford one
Do Wally in for Sterling then?
Nice in theory…
Anyway, repeat that cycle about 4 times and you’ll see why we ended up with both the most boring transfer we could come up with and why we were all asleep come the end of it!
Pieters with his good fixtures and less than reliable team comes in for Baines with his slightly worse fixtures and less than reliable legs / health.
THE NEW TEAM IN FULL FOR Gameweek 9!
Our captain is Alexis Sanchez and our vice captain is Sergio Aguero.
When we all finally woke up from the Pieters induced sleep we did a good impression of still caring and Alexis was voted for as captain by a unanimous choice. No reasons were either asked for or given, it just felt the right thing to do given his form and Arsenal’s as opposed to the alternatives.
If anyone is interested in following the site teams progress then you can do so here and we wish you all the best of luck this week with your own teams.

Fixture Tracker – the next 6 games
Hey team, some thoughts if you would.
Pickford, Foster
Williams, Walker, Koscielny, Amat, Smith
Sanchez, Firmino, Capoue, Barry, Arnautovic
Costa, Rashford, Aguero
2 FT, 0.2 itb
a) Capoue + Arnautovic -> Walcott + Fletcher (4.4m)
b) thoughts? lol
hey mate,
this move would leave you with Barry and Fletcher and you would need to field one of them which is not a preferably set up.. or would you pleay 4-3-3?
how about Sánchez to Wally and Capoue to Sterling?
hey guys,
i could not resist on Wally if i were you do you have an other FT for bringing Allen instead of Fletch/Capoue? or is it a deadend?
team look decent, good luck!
Allen was considered. Just feels a bit too bandwagony and his recent returns were generally considered as a bit of a freak occurrence. We could be wrong of course but that was the concensus.
i see Init, i had to introduce him as an enabler… but i have the same dilemma as you guys
Not saying he’s a bad pick by any means. Clearly the form is there and he should be considered on that basis alone.
Dawids, his form, fixtures and price make him a decent pick – but like Capoue, don’t expect him to keep this scoring rate up.
Evening Guys. Can’t decide if I should do both or just one of these moves.
A. King and Valencia to Pieters and Shaqiri/Allen/Milner/Henderson
B. Just Pieters in for Valencia
Only problem I have with doing A is I think Liverpool have a better chance of getting points than Stoke but it would leave me with double Arsenal and Liverpool in midfield. Thoughts?
Pic:
evening Matt,
i wouldn’t pull the trigger and play Capoue (last chance) over King.
Unless you are having 2 FTs..
Cheers Dawids so just Valencia to Pieters
Matt, I would not get rid of Valencia. McAuley to Pieters is miles better. United seem to be putting it together a bit and have a couple nice fixtures after this weekend.
Thanks guys, great updated site by the way.
I did the Sterling to Wally move, fingers crossed it pays off.
Not even convinced Sterling plays the week myself so I think that’s a good move.
Please help! What would you do?!
Downgrade Sterling and upgrade Capoue or De Pena.
Sterling to Wally and let the points flood in
+1!
Love the rest of the team baring Capoue. If you just make the one transfer, you’ll have 2 free again next week to replace him if he doesn’t show up again against Swansea next week. Good luck!!
Am i good to go??Can’t seem to decide which out of the four defenders to bench Any help??
Shane, Spurs have the best defence in the league.
Thanks cookie. But with alderweireld out injured don’t u think they will be a bit shaky in defence??Who would you bench??
Hi Shane, I’d agree with Cookie on Spurs defence – I think you should play Vert. Id’ probably drop Lovren despite the fixture but you’re right – it’s a very hard call!! Bear in mind that clean sheets are as hard as ever to predict this season so it’s a bit of a lottery, but it’s a fact that this season no team is more probable as Spurs to get a cleanie!
Remember tho, never go against your gut!
