Our 2022/23 Overall Rank and Recent History

Now last season did not go entirely how we would have hoped. There were more postponements, double gameweeks and players with well over 11 million playing the game so we will put our rank down to those issues. Unfortunately we ended up with a rank of 297,085 which is our worst rank in the nine seasons this team has been running.
For that reason the big bosses have decided to bring me (MattX) in as they obviously need some help! Or more likely a scapegoat for whenever things go wrong.
Initial set up
To start things off we did a very basic add on the most obvious players of Haaland, Trent, Saka. Sprinkle in some more Arsenal in the forms of Jesus and Gabriel, toss in the template 6.5s M&Ms (Mitoma and Mbuemo) then fill in the gaps.
We didn’t do any tinkering with the draft over the preseason friendlies and instead took a back seat to focus on our own teams. That proved to be a solid idea as when we looked back at the inital draft there were a litany of problems; Jesus was injured, Mbuemo is flagged, Trent and co. can’t defend so we did a fire sale and changed up quite a few. The M&Ms got split, Jesus stays in his cave with no resurrection in sight and instead we’ve gone with not one, but two blonde Norwegians!
Here is the final product! (I didn’t quite work my differential magic just yet, need to lull them into a false sense of security. They need to think I actually know what I’m doing first!)

We have squeezed every last drop out of the transfer budget this year but we feel it is warrented as there are nice picks all over the pitch.
The Line-Up
We have gone for 2 cheap picks in Mubama and Bell who will largely keep our bench warm the majority of weeks. The one bench player we did go for is 4.5 defender Botman who offers brilliant value for money at that price hopefully Newcastle can stay as one of the best defences in the league. Everywhere else picks itself. Mbuemo may be flagged but it’s believed he will make GW1. Our biggest debate was the keeper Johnstone vs Pickford with Johnstone winning out
Captain – Haaland
Fairly straightforward. It’s Haaland. Enough said.
Saka will take over if for some reason Haaland doesn’t make an appearance.

constantine
Hey guys. How are you all? Hope ready with your squads.
1st RMT of the season. Please suggest for any immediate changes. Cheers all.
banjomaker
Can’t fault that – just Areola to Turner I guess.
constantine
Cheers Banjo. Any idea on how to utilize the spare 0.5m? Do I leave it like that?
banjomaker
Probably put it in your back pocket. If you’re determined to spend it perhaps one of the 6.5 mids to Richarlison.
coys9
+1
coys9
I mean for Areola to Turner
constantine
Cheers Coys. Done that
chins
That’s a pretty damn lovely team. I’m now tempted to upgrade to Salah and save myself the bench headaches that I have right now.
Save the 0.5 to give you more room to move with your transfers.
constantine
Thanks Chins. Trying to be serious this season for a change.
chins
Lol. We will see how long that lasts old buddy.
Gear
I’ve used the 0.5 to upgrade Mbeumo to Rich if that helps.
constantine
Thanks Gear. Changed him to Foden and Onana to Johnston
Gear
Nice, hopefully Foden strings some matches together for you
coys9
Last min dilemma. A or B?
A. Salah, Richy and Mitoma (trip Brighton)
B. Jota, Son and Odegaard (already have Saka)
coys9
C. Martinelli, Son and Bruno (already have Rashford)
bees393
Hard to say without seeing your whole team. Think it may be a wait and watch with Richy.
Gear
A
coys9
Thanks mate
constantine
A absolutely
coys9
Thanks man
constantine
Foden starts probably. That changes some things? Mbeumo to him now.
Shadow
No Stones or Gvardiol apparently.
banjomaker

Gvardiol was always a big risk for GW1 he’s not been there long to get what Pep wants from him, Stones is a surprise though but Pep probably thinks it’s an easy game so not wanting to risk him yet.
hammers
Hey guys.
Last minute changes on the keeper to save 0.5, but think I’m good to go
Gear
Looks great, but I’d start Chilwell
chins
Ok. Here it is. Strongest bench I’ve ever had outside of bench boost weeks.
.
I’ll be hiding behind the sofa for the Man City game, and hoping Rashford / United don’t screw me.
Good luck everybody
Gear
Balls of steel there
IvanTheTerrible
Chins, let’s hope of not many points left on the bench as we are in the same boat.
chins
Love it!! Chelsea can go nuts starting NEXT WEEK.
bees393
Looking forward to those Chilwell points soon. All the best Ivan!
IvanTheTerrible
Thanks Bees.
I already need him as Stones is once again AWOL.
