How Long Will This Last?
Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 14
As every normal person should do, your author has been listening to his daily dose of Blossoms. For those not au fait, they are an English band from Stockport who are very popular on these shores and hopefully further afield. Some brilliant tunes. One of which is on in the background as he begins to pen your Site Team Article – the title of this article is taken from that and is very apt considering where we find our FPL season leading.
Ahead of Gameweek 14 we reside at 1,144 overall in the world. Crazy times. 876 points altogether and our third green arrow on the bounce. We are now way clear in first place in Bonaire, Saint Eustatius and Saba.
How long will this last indeed…..?
On the face of it, Gameweek 13 wasn’t all too exciting – not that we’re not grateful – but we only scored 6 points above the average – 52 points – and compared to recent scores, that is a very modest return and rank climb.
Drilling into the team it is clear we have again a couple of players doing most of the spade work – Anthony Gordon (13) and Erling Haaland (C) (14) led the way and aside from a clean sheet from William Saliba (6), a goal from Ollie Watkins (5) and an assist from Mohamed Salah (5), it was a case of ones and twos. But it’s getting the points and not how, that really matters.
Our Gameweek 13 Result
We have £1.9mln in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of Gameweek 14, so let’s go see what was decided.
Our Gamewweek 14 Transfer(s)
Move 1:
We are of the opinion that with a bit of bunce in the bank and to free moves, we are in an ideal position to ‘upgrade’ from the Jarrod Bowen ‘problem’. We like the look of Arsenal of course and we can comfortably afford Bukayo Saka so that won on a landslide.
Move 2:
Potentially taking advantage of the Alisson injury at Liverpool meant we could strengthen the Matt Turner position by buying Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool (£3.9mln) and using him across the next two or three matches as an alternative to Sam Johnstone as the fixtures appear better for Liverpool (on paper). This transfer we swayed on, it won out in a 4 – 2 vote but let’s be positive, how often are you going to get a £3.9mln goalkeeper for a title-challenging team with Fulham, Sheffield United and Crystal Palace next up?
To confirm then we have SOLD JARROD BOWEN & MATT TURNER and BOUGHT BUKAYO SAKA & CAOIMHIN KELLEHER
Captain – MOHAMED SALAH
Tough call this week, have we made the correct one with Haaland only being vice (which won’t be needed as Salah is a cert to play)? Salah plays first too! Go well Mo!

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE
