Fantasy Football 247 Site Team News Gameweek 16
When you’re good, you’re good!
Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW16
Last week we said we were a broken record and *scratch scratch*, here we go again with another solid week! We didn’t make any transfers in GW15 and rolled the transfer which we will count as a good decision due to the colour of our arrow. It did give us a precious 2FTs for what turned into a week where Mbeumo got injured, Son got a niggle, Tsimikas got benched. Lots of headaches around the X-verse to deal with.
Now it’s not a massive green arrow but we finished on 39pts just above the 35pt gameweek average which saw a small rise from 662 to 528th. The air is getting thinner!
Our Gameweek 15 Result
We have £0.5 in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of GW16. Let’s go see what was decided….
Our GW16 Transfer(s)
The voting for our 2 fts was pretty straight forward this week. The injury to Mbeumo hurts but at least he left with a parting gift of 5pts. One of our moves was for a midfielder who probably has the best fixture of the weekend in Phillip Foden. Mbeumo to Foden was not a straight swap and someone needed to be sacrificed. There wasn’t really anyone we wanted to drop at the back but decided that Tsimikas’ benching proves his place is rotational and we only want nailed on players! (So we picked a player under Pep! )
We did want to try get a Chelsea defender in for that decent run of fixtures but alas, Levi Colwill was 0.1 too expensive. We decided to go with one of his opponents for this weekend in the form of Jarrad Branthwaite. Everton just won’t get relegated and despite getting a 10pt deduction have already climbed out of the relegation zone. Coming off the back of a 3-0 win against Newcastle (Sorry Rosco!) and only costing 4.1 mil it was too hard to pass up. The Norwegian Robot will take the armband this week. Away to Luton could be tough but Arsenal did just score 4 there so hopefully Haaland will follow suit.
To confirm then we have SOLD Mbeumo and Tsimikas and BOUGHT Foden and Branthwaite.
Captain – Haaland

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

Only 39 points and yet still another green arrow. Can this (bloody annoying!) team do no wrong?!
Here’s hoping…..
ok, this gameweek gets worse with flagged players!!
First Baldock, then Mbuemo, then Areola, now Son.
FTx2
ITB:0.3m
Was going to do:
Mbuemo->Bowen.
For the other… Son-> ????
And will go -4 to to potentially upgrade Turner, just incase Areola plays (although may play the replacement if people think he is a better option)
What are peoples thoughts.
Unless we get news that he’s out, I probably wouldn’t sell Son. May be look at Mbuemo and Diaby to 2 of Bowen, Gordon, Palmer etc.
Stone – Do you think we will get news before tomorrows deadline?
What about my goalkeeping situation? No update on Areola as yet.
Sounds like Son will be okay. Agree with SFs moves, and I’d grab Bowen
Areola sounded like it was short term, not sure any keepers worth a hit. However it could be argued Turner to Dubravka or even Sanchez could pay over a few weeks as Areola has been doing nothing lately.
At least for me the indisposition of Areala has allowed me to get the 11 pts of Sanchez who was on my bench!
Sanchez looks a good move looking at fixtures. Think I’ll jump in
Foden for the fixture ?
That’s where I’ve gone. Cash to Colwill and Mbeumo to Foden. We’ll see about Sony nect GW.
Tbh I ain’t going too well this year, maybe a few weeks without trading would be better!
I’d go Mbuemo > Gordon who has Fulham, Luton & Forest after Spurs. Not sure yet if Areola’s lost his spot to Fab but could always get Dubravka if you hear news in time.
Colriles – what about Bowen? He seems to be scoring for fun lately.
Areola has done something to his wrist, hence missing the Spurs game. Cant see any update as yet as to whether he will miss Fulham game. Without him I dont have a playing goalie.
What if I did:
Mbuemo->Bowen and Areola->Dubravka
That way, I dont lose points, have a playing goalie (surely Dubravka will play)
Will that work?
Bowen’s a good shout HF. Just do it, as you’d be kicking yourself if he scored and you weren’t on him! “Fpl should be for personal pleasure mate. Not punishment!
Greetings AJW mate.
damn that enter button!!!
will try again!!
AJW – will do the Mbuemo-Bowen and Areola->Dubravka moves.
It is slowly creating my wildcard and saving me hassle…lol
Think fpl is a mixture of pleasure and pain
I like those moves
I’d do the Mbeumo move and change Turner
Raffles – cant do those moves mate, as Mbuemo-Bowen leaves me -0.2m
I would have to do Areola-Dubravka instead.
SF sorted you out about 3 hrs ago. I was going to simply suggest the same until I read his.
Mb to Bowen and Diaby to Gordon. Simples
Init- and the goalie situation? I wont have one if Areola doesnt play
So play with 10. Or one may appear and get you 2 points. The upside on the other moves have better potential.
I expect Villa to shock title hopeful Arsenal and register their 15th in a row unbeaten home game.
The question is, do I play D Luiz instead of JWP?
If you feel the Villa will beat the Arse then that’s fine, but if Tsimikas doesn’t play again then you’ll get Saliba in your XI
Well Raffles, there are some GWSs like that when we find us in a checkmate situation.
Tsimi is widely predicted to start but if he doesn’t have to settle with Saliba.
Not much difference points wise between Luiz and JWP, 72 to 65 in favour of Luiz. He does have the home fixture and as RH says, if you fancy Villa then Luiz it is.
Thanks Elle, think I will go with D Luiz. Those two have been creating so much of a bench headache and usually I pick the wrong one. Anyhow, one of them will go for most likely Palmer next week.
How long will Mbeumo be out for?
I have Palmer on my bench to cover so can I hold him?
I see over 21k teams have transferred Mbeumo in this week?!
From Thomas Frank, https://www.brentfordfc.com/en/news/article/first-team-bryan-mbeumo-brentford-injury-update-fpl-thomas-frank , Mbeumo is out for a few weeks at least, as the injury is bad, per the coach. Likely the 21K buyers did it before the injury.
I’ll just roll with Palmer for now and wait for further news.
Just get Sanchez as GK for now
Tripps, Trent, Branthwaite, Udogie and Maguire, Who to play? May I inquire??
Trippier, Trent and Maguire I would think.
Thanks!
Can’t decide to start dubravka or areola. Leaning towards dubravka for Newcastle defensive cover although they are playing spurs. Areola has Fulham but west ham often concede. That’s assuming areola is fit anyway
Both concede but Newcastle (Dubravka) for me.
I’ve lost patience with Areola, hasn’t been scoring well. Move him to Sanchez
