Our Gameweek 19 Result
We suppose that our triple Newcastle contingent notching a whopping 2 points between them was a strong portent of what was to come. They can all bugger off on the incoming Wildcard.
Things did ‘pick up’ briefly when our new signing Trent got a cleanie and all 3 bonus points. Sadly, that was to prove to be the highlight of our week!
Solanke and Foden scoring did cheer us up a touch, but the rest did naff all, to put it politely. They can all bugger off too.
All in all we matched the average of 38 which saw our rank fall a bit to 5,089th.
We have 2.9m in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW20. And, evidently, a Wildcard that must be burned. And a promise of selling most of our squad, if you believe the above. Let’s go see what was decided….

Turns out that this is quite a tricky week to wield a WC! With Haaland seemingly out, but wanting to come back in for GW21, and with Salah leaving, but rather unhelpfully not until after this one, we have a bit of a quandary on our hands.
The big decision, it seemed, was whether to keep Salah, or just cut our losses early doors. This decision alone took over 24 hours! In the end we decided to keep him. Oh good, that’s one player sorted out of the 15 then…
Turns out (who knew) that the rest didn’t actually need that much doing to it. We culled the Newcastle players, Howe has flogged them enough recently without us adding to their woes. Bowen being the main beneficiary. We clearly needed a 2nd keeper and decided that Areola rotates (22 & 25, specifically) with the Chelsea guy. Estupinan comes back in as a bit of a left-field pick. Alvarez comes in for a bit, simply because we fancy City may destroy Sheffield.
Oh, and then Botman insisted on a late recall, clearly not having got the previous memo. But that’s just a bit of cheap forward thinking ahead of GW23 onwards.
To confirm then we have finally WILDCARDED
