A whole Jota fun

Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW22. Sometimes FPL can be a simple game. Sell a Liverpool attacker, buy a Liverpool attacker, sit back and wait for the points to roll in.

As mentioned in our last site team article, the vote to buy Jota was far from unanimous. We have GP, Swirly and Matt to thank for his inclusion. I did however vote to hand him the armband once he’d signed on the dotted line, nobody listened, but hey, I bought and captained Saka in my own team so who can blame them?

Our backline came up trumps with clean sheets across the board, in stark contrast to our forward line who collectively managed a grim 5pts. A mixed bag in the middle with captain Palmer’s 20pts and new boy Diogo’s whopping 19pts making up for 5pts total from Saka and Foden.

Our final score of 79pts ended up 32pts above the GW average (47pts) and that was enough to end a run of 5 red arrows on the bounce, taking us from 6797th back up to 2359th. The dream of winning the whole thing may be just that, but we’re optimistic that unless things go horribly wrong, we should be on for one of our best seasons to date.

Our Gameweek 21 Result

We have £6.2 in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW22. Let’s go see what was decided….

Our GW22 Transfer(s)

Our early transfer plans this week revolved around the availability of Earling Haaland. If, and it’s a big if, that we got concrete information he starts against Burnley then he’d be the one we’d want. However, given our lack of funds and reluctance to sell Watkins we’d have to take a -4.

We held out for the Man City press conference, and whilst Pep did say he was ‘apparently’ ready to return to the squad, it’s far from certain he’ll actually start. A bench start seems more likely, and given that we would need a -4 to bring him in, we’re happy to wait and be in a position to pick him up next week with our 2FTs.

So, all that was left to decide was the captain’s armband. We put it to vote and Phil Foden came out on top, Jota takes our VC should he be needed. Sensible approach as ever, fingers crossed we’re not punished! Good luck everyone!

To confirm then we have rolled our transfer

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

They say no news is good news, but with Pep it’s a case of some news isn’t all that helpful news. Will Haaland Start? Will he be benched? Who knows. We’ve chosen our hill to die on and be dammed if we’re changing it!

Quite unsure what to do here. 1ft 6.6m itb. Was leaning towards son to kdb but that would mean to get haaland next week would have to sell watkins. Had another thought to maybe sell son to a cheap bench player. Gives me a playing sub if gabriel isn’t fit and allows me to do archer to haaland next week? Any thoughts?

Stay with Palmer or play Gordon instead?

Hi guys, hope all well! Not been on for a while due to a terrible start and a house move taking up my time, but Jota captain last week got me back in the running and looking forward to a strong second half!
Can’t decide though ….keep Alvarez this week or swap to Haaland?
Did read somewhere that whenever he’s been injured before, that he’s always been in the starting line up for his first game back but not sure how true that is ….anyone able to back this up?
Personally think he and Alvarez will start and KBD reduced mins myself

Afternoon everyone! Should I roll the FT this week? Money isn’t an option as I have 9.5m in the bank but do you see any drastic issues here?
