Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 5
International (gimme a) Break
Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 5
We return with a look at how our FPL team did in Gameweek 4, a time before South American teams began qualifying for the 2026 World Cup (no, really), when Italy didn’t beat North Macedonia (again) and poor old Harry Maguire lost to England (sorry Mrs M).
Another gameweek where we could proudly boast that we beat (not smashed) the weekly average. Our 79 beats Joe Bloggs’s 72.
This lifted us up to a season-high 104,106 and we turn attention to getting back in the saddle and cruising into the top 100k this week.
Our main player, well everyone’s really, Erling Haaland took a 40 point haul into the break (in which he conitnued his scoring with his national team) and in all truth did most of the heavy lifting again. Bryan Mbeumo (8) continues to reward us and after him, we were followed by a brace of sevens from Martin Odegaard (also a Norwegian scorer this week) and Marcus Rashford.
Twos and ones amongst the rest who don’t get their names read out.
Our Gameweek 4 Result
We have £0.2mln in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of Gameweek 5. Let’s go see what was decided.
Our Gameweek 5 Transfer(s)
Well we feel that the double Arsenal/double United needs to be spreadout to accommodate some Spurs coverage based upon their start to the season. We could have gone Son, we could have gone Maddison and we could have gone both. We have gone Maddison in the end.
Whilst Son may be more explosive (clearly!), the feeling among us is Maddison is going to be the more consistent. And we can get Son if we have to! We carry one transfer.
Martin Odegaard was the unlucky elbowee at this time (and this one could go wrong). Accepted.
To confirm then we have SOLD MARTIN ODEGAARD and BOUGHT JAMES MADDISON
Captain – ERLING HAALAND
Off the back of 40 points and scoring for his country, we’re not overthinking it.

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

We are all set for GW5 folks – have a read.
Roll transfer or use it to bring in udogie for saliba? And is this set correctly? Thanks all.
I think you could roll that one over but Udogie on the radar for sure.
Thanks gallant
Who is the better option, Maddison or Son?
Looking to swap out Rashford for either of the above.
As above, I think Maddison will be the more consistent even though Son may bang more.
ok, then that leaves me with a dilemma, as was going to go with Son..lol
I’d take Son for now. I was a lone voice on that vote though so what do I know!
I have used my WC £100k left ITB.
Is this okay? I know about Gusto but there isn’t anyone else I can get for the money I have left and James will surely get injured again soon.
It’s possible Botman drops tonight. May be take him out and bring him back in tomorrow morning, you may gain 0.1. 2×4.0 keepers has risks if they both get dropped/injured, but difficult to find 0.5.
thanks I have switched Botman to Anderson for now, then will buy back tomorrow. as that extra £100k could help me get a £4.4m for Gusto.
Am I good to go? Got 1 FT& 2.5m ITB
Any suggestions? Tempted by Pool, Newcastle and Spurs assets but most options are midfielders and wouldn’t know who to take out
Foden to Madders is what I’d do
Sterling to Maddison
Exact money for Foden To Son?
Oooh, I didn’t notice Son might be in reach. I’d do that if so.
I get the appeal of Son and Maddison.
Is there doubt over Foden do you think or more just that he doesn’t have an as high ceiling
Slightly lower ceiling and seemingly about a 70/30 chance of even starting each week, as opposed to roughly 100%…
G2g?
Going to “try” and brave Son over Haaland.
Nice team that! I’m with you on the Son cappo punt.
Cheers banjo, we can weep the reward together
