Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 5
International (gimme a) Break
Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 5
We return with a look at how our FPL team did in Gameweek 4, a time before South American teams began qualifying for the 2026 World Cup (no, really), when Italy didn’t beat North Macedonia (again) and poor old Harry Maguire lost to England (sorry Mrs M).
Another gameweek where we could proudly boast that we beat (not smashed) the weekly average. Our 79 beats Joe Bloggs’s 72.
This lifted us up to a season-high 104,106 and we turn attention to getting back in the saddle and cruising into the top 100k this week.
Our main player, well everyone’s really, Erling Haaland took a 40 point haul into the break (in which he conitnued his scoring with his national team) and in all truth did most of the heavy lifting again. Bryan Mbeumo (8) continues to reward us and after him, we were followed by a brace of sevens from Martin Odegaard (also a Norwegian scorer this week) and Marcus Rashford.
Twos and ones amongst the rest who don’t get their names read out.
Our Gameweek 4 Result
We have £0.2mln in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of Gameweek 5. Let’s go see what was decided.
Our Gameweek 5 Transfer(s)
Well we feel that the double Arsenal/double United needs to be spreadout to accommodate some Spurs coverage based upon their start to the season. We could have gone Son, we could have gone Maddison and we could have gone both. We have gone Maddison in the end.
Whilst Son may be more explosive (clearly!), the feeling among us is Maddison is going to be the more consistent. And we can get Son if we have to! We carry one transfer.
Martin Odegaard was the unlucky elbowee at this time (and this one could go wrong). Accepted.
To confirm then we have SOLD MARTIN ODEGAARD and BOUGHT JAMES MADDISON
Captain – ERLING HAALAND
Off the back of 40 points and scoring for his country, we’re not overthinking it.

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

Evening all! It feels good to be back! There IBs are too long! I’ve got a bit of a benching headache here, any suggestions? I’ve got 1FT and 0.1 in the bank but I can probably roll that!
I would start Bruno over Isak. Possibility that he’s rested for Europe in the week, plus he played a lot of minutes for Sweden
That is a benching headache! I’d have Bruno ahead of Mbuemo and Isak.
Is Reguilon going to start? He doesn’t have a single minute played so far.
Doubt it!
I assumed he would play based on Utd not having any players and with them getting him because Shaw and Malacia are out.
1 FT and 0.6 ITB
I am 0.4 short to replace Richy with Maddison. Any ideas where can I generate the cash from?
Pedro to a sub and run with two up top, but probably not worth the hit. Maybe just get Mbuemo or Mitoma / March.
Thanks Init. I will sleep on it and might even hit the WC button in the morning.
Jackson to Alvarez maybe but I’d probably want to wait till next week for that myself and could be iffy if CL rotation starts happening.
Otherwise like innit said, Pedro probably only other option…I’d go Archer myself but you could also take a punt on Lyle Foster for Burnley’s dgw?
Sorry guys final post on this I promise!
Finally settled and happy with my WC team …cheers for all your opinions! Think the only swappable candidates are gonna be Jackson and Morris who I could potentially swap to Jesus/Watkins and Archer down the road.
Only issue now …and self inflicted I know…but who do I play/bench do you reckon…keep lineup as is or swap Mbuemo for Schar or Morris maybe?
…and Son or Haaland for captain?
Cheers again and good luck this GW
I’m in WC as well. Locked in Son. But after looking at Site team and swapping Son to Maddison, the extra cash does a lot to help the rest of team
Have a look at a team with Maddison instead of Son
Cheers but think I’m gonna have enough benching headaches as it is without spreading even more cash around tbh
Any thoughts on lineup for this gw?
And we’re back again. My teams a bit of a mess, advice welcome!
I’m thinking Pedro & Bruno/Odegard/Rashford out for Jackson & Diaby. Villa have a nice looking fixture list coming up and I can’t afford much else up top…
What do we reckon?
Thanks
Decent moves IF Jackson starts scoring but I’ve gone for him and Diaby myself this week on a WC too…I’d drop Fernandes myself out of those 3
Otherwise you could drop Pickford and do Pedro to Morris with the dgw in mind
Thanks, yeh I’m not overly convinced by Jackson but feel like he must be due a few at least…
Morning folks,
Still haven’t done my transfers …
What do you think of Saka to Son & Pedro to Archer??
Anything better?
2FT and 0.1 ITB.
Thanks,
CC
Might be biased but I’d rather drop Salah than Saka and then use the extra cash to upgrade Pedro/Baldock/Anderson personally
I’ve done Rashford to Son if that helps. I’d keep Saka.
Thanks both!
Not sure I’m ready to drop Salah yet.
Is Foster a better option upfront?
But you are right RedKev, selling Salah opens up a whole new world of opportunity LOL. Keepers probably need sorting too.
Pedro to Foster or Morris both decent dgw options
Morning guys,
Final wild card decision
A sterling and awoniyi
B sterling and alvarez
C diaby and Jackson
Any thoughts appreciated
Cheers
I’ve gone for C on mine
Thanks kev
+1. Let’s hope Nik starts putting some away
