Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 5
We return with a look at how our FPL team did in Gameweek 4, a time before South American teams began qualifying for the 2026 World Cup (no, really), when Italy didn’t beat North Macedonia (again) and poor old Harry Maguire lost to England (sorry Mrs M).
Another gameweek where we could proudly boast that we beat (not smashed) the weekly average. Our 79 beats Joe Bloggs’s 72.
This lifted us up to a season-high 104,106 and we turn attention to getting back in the saddle and cruising into the top 100k this week.
Our main player, well everyone’s really, Erling Haaland took a 40 point haul into the break (in which he conitnued his scoring with his national team) and in all truth did most of the heavy lifting again. Bryan Mbeumo (8) continues to reward us and after him, we were followed by a brace of sevens from Martin Odegaard (also a Norwegian scorer this week) and Marcus Rashford.

Our Gameweek 5 Transfer(s)
Well we feel that the double Arsenal/double United needs to be spreadout to accommodate some Spurs coverage based upon their start to the season. We could have gone Son, we could have gone Maddison and we could have gone both. We have gone Maddison in the end.
Whilst Son may be more explosive (clearly!), the feeling among us is Maddison is going to be the more consistent. And we can get Son if we have to! We carry one transfer.
Martin Odegaard was the unlucky elbowee at this time (and this one could go wrong). Accepted.
To confirm then we have SOLD MARTIN ODEGAARD and BOUGHT JAMES MADDISON
Captain – ERLING HAALAND
Off the back of 40 points and scoring for his country, we’re not overthinking it.

Who would you bench?
Yeah that’s where it becomes tricky…having same problems with my team now!
Probably Alvarez based on him arriving back late and WH not being an overly easy game
Whilst upgrading Ferguson gives you a very nice squad, there’s gonna be a constant benching headache. Does downgrading him allow enough funds to squeeze a Man U midfielder in there?
I could do Ferguson to archer and upgrade Sterling to rashford.
Longer term I’d prefer that. But that Bournemouth fixture is tough to ignore!

OK, took the advice from Init and Kev and got rid of Pedro to upgrade Richy to Maddison with a hit.
Now, do we play Turner or Onana this week?
I think Turner in all honesty. Can’t see Brighton not scoring.
Thanks GP, staying with Turner. It pains me to say but United allowed 2 goals from Forest last time at the Old Trafford and the likes of March or Mitoma could well ruin the CS.
Pretty pointless to have a 5 Million keeper if he aint playing, hence, Onana and on last chance saloon as if he does not start racking up CS points, he is on his way out for Areola

I have the same GK’s I am playing Turner, I don’t think there are enough save points against the City team.
