Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 21 2017/18
Welcome to Fantasy Football Captain Picks Gameweek 21. I’m not sure why I’m bothering to write this gameweek’s Captain Picks article. There’s only one candidate who’s really worth considering. I won’t name him but his form’s just been insane. Saturday 23rd December: hat-trick. Tuesday 26th December: hat-trick. It’d likely be rather embarrassing for me to back against another one. He’s been transferred in by over 120,000 since. And rising. Still, if you’re one who follows actual fixtures over form, here are 5 alternative and vaguely available candidates for your team’s armband…
Alvaro Morata vs Stoke (H)
My captain. I wish anyway, if I actually owned him. Stoke have already conceded 41 goals and 3+ against each of the following: West Ham, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City and, of slightly more importance here, Chelsea themselves. That match was a 0-4 away win in which Alvaro scored his first Premier League hat-trick. I’d just like to add that Stoke have the same number of Premier League titles as three teams in the above list.
I must warn you, though, that Chelsea have only served up 14 goals at home, yielding an average of just 1.4 goals per match, a definite cause for concern. I’m doubting myself now. Why do I still back this? Morata’s had a hand in over 50% of those goals.
Why not back the tanned Belgian skinhead instead? I might. He rarely needs more than a goal — perhaps just a sneaky penalty — to secure all 3 BPs in a match. His form is lacking, sadly, so the glossy Spaniard gets my approval. I also write about more than enough midgets in my spare time already…
Form: 4
Fixture: 8
Explosiveness: 7
Mohamed Salah vs Leicester (H)
My captain. I think, anyway, if I’m not swayed by Leicester’s unpredictability. Salah’s got it really easy now: the pain of blanking at home isn’t one he’s too familiar with, having only done so in 2 of the 9 home matches that he’s been a starter in, but he can just knock back some Tramadol if playing with Mignolet is causing him too much discomfort.
I don’t need to say much else here. Midfielders who rack up 15 goals and 7 assists in just over half a season don’t come around very often. Sanchez tallied 24 goals and 11 assists last season, playing over twice as many minutes as Salah so far, which was enough to effortlessly make him the top FPL player. Salah would almost surpass Fellaini’s all-time record if he keeps up his absurd form.
Firmino’s a great shout as well. He’s been involved in 2 goals per match in each of the 3 most recent gameweeks, remarkably, and is the only transvestite prostitute to ever do so.
Form: 8
Fixture: 7
Explosiveness: 8
Richarlison de Andrade vs Swansea (H)
This one’s quite hard to justify, but I feel anyone playing Swansea should be given a chance, or at least mentioned on here. Leon Britton and his clowns have conceded 13 goals in their 4 most recent matches. Richarlison hasn’t exactly been in form lately but, as the main striker in Harvey Price’s absence, he’ll expect plenty of opportunities to return to his October status of FPL gold; you don’t need a fancy whisk to beat shit.
Form: 3
Fixture: 9
Explosiveness: 6
Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs Southampton (H)
I won’t deny it. This one’s rather pointless — almost nobody owns him — but perhaps I can tempt in some investment. He scored a brace in this exact fixture, a 2-0 win, and he’s played for… 102 minutes?! Ok, sorry, I can’t get away with this. How about Lingard instead? On the assumption he reclaims his place in the starting XI and you’re weird, you might back Jesse adding to the 6 goals and 2 assists in his 6 most recent matches, who’s currently the most in-form FPL player. I’m not even going to give Lukaku the honour of a mention here! Cue his first brace since the opening day.
Form: 2
Fixture: 7
Explosiveness: 6
Leroy De Sterling vs Crystal Palace (A)
Being suddenly ordered to “take your pick from these three” sounds great, doesn’t it, but it’s not a nice choice in this case. Even though Jesus has been almost neglected by Pep recently, with these Christmas fixtures ~3 days apart each, there’s no knowing if Aguero plays. Midfield representation feels wisest. Likelihood of starting says Kevin De Bruyne and form says Sterling. Palace are unbeaten in 6 home matches but Man City won’t care.
Form: 9
Fixture: 7
Explosiveness: 8
Good luck, everyone, we’re probably going to need it.

I keep on changing between hazard and morata as Cappo! I hate these late deadlines
Tough one Mitro – Morata shades it for me
Would appreciate your thoughts on the wc team below Mitro
Salah and Sterling too Mitro
Active WC team below, I’m thinking a one week punt on Hazard and Morata and then next week for a -4 bring in Son and Kane. Hazard will need to be offloaded to raise the funds for Kane.
Aside from Azpi to Alonso – is there other moves I should be thinking of.
Superstruggler
That sounds a good plan. Big hauls between Chelsea today and Spurs in the double would mean the -4 is nothing.
Daily Mail – “Salah is rested” anyone seen this anywhere else?
Interesting would not surprise me with Klopp
Gramps can I see copy of daily mail
Yes.
I have.
From other sources though.
No Gomez probably,too.
p.s. and I have both :/ …
Gramps – I see you are not linked – so 247 Care here as it is important re the Salah comment?
Morning all how are we thoughts on Kane keeping dumping???????????
I’ve kept him Silvers.
Cheers GP 😉
I ditched him! Wasn’t planning to but changed my mind last minute!
Thinking Alonso for Cap 😉
