Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 10
Guess the best we can say about our game-week is that at least we still got a green arrow. We made a small move to 565K after jumping about 40K places in the overall. Our score of 57 was six points above the average and our game-week ranking was in the 1.2 million range. Let us give a rundown of how we managed our score and move along to our transfer plans and captaincy choice for the upcoming game-week.
In goal we had Boaz Myhill who finally delivered after several weeks of somewhat disappointing returns. The Baggie’s keeper was able to keep a clean sheet and grabbed himself two bonus points for a total of eight points.
In defence we were able to bookend a one pointer with a pair of zeros. Francis was part of that defensive wall made out of straw that Bournemouth put up at the Etihad, Naughton didn’t play and neither did our other two defensive subs so that also became a 0. Shockingly with one point, Morgan, a Leicester defender, that has no business seeing the pitch even on a ghost ship was our high scorer with one point. I guess he was the only one that didn’t let us down?
Moving onto our midfield, we saw another good showing from our fantastic four. As all players were able to get at least an assist and in the case of Payet and Sanchez they were able to do even better by both grabbing a goal. Sanchez once again reached double digits. Payet scored seven points and that is five games on the bounce that he has managed to grab a goal or an assist at the very least. Our captain was a bit unlucky to not dial up a bigger number than five (ten as capo) points. As he should have probably fared better than just an assist in the destruction of The Cherries. Mahrez was able to chip in with an assist despite only playing 45 minutes. Certainly one we will have to monitor, because if Ranieri decides to keep him on the bench again to start off with, he will quickly start only delivering one pointers.
Vardy was the only one of our forwards that was able to bring home a good haul. He has now scored a goal in seven of his nine fixtures and in two cases he grabbed a brace. One almost gets the feeling that he stole Harry Kane’s goal scoring prowess from last season in a manner that resembles the movie Space Jam. Our new signing Pelle naturally cooled off after we transferred him in. Hopefully he quickly gets back to his 35 points in 3 GW’s form. Our last “forward” Gomis brought home another 2 points. Naturally we bought him right after he had scored in four straight and now have had to endure his enormous lack of quality for five straight game-weeks. Just too bad he doesn’t get a bonus for having a bad touch, wayward shots and staying offside. His name was floated as a transfer target before the game-week started, but the rest of the committee found it somewhat amusing that anyone would bring him up as the one to leave for a hit to Costa. As this poor brave committee member was given excuses like “Swans have ok games ahead”, “I’d keep Gomis for some Monday night fun”, “Yeah I’d hang onto Gomis for another few games” just wonderful…just wonderful. Let’s just move onto the transfers for this week before my head explodes. (Or I grow a pair and actually speak out when the time is ripe).

Transfer(s) for GW10… NONE!
To say we didn’t come to this decision lightly would be putting it mildly! The cause of so many bloody noses in the FF247 offices this week? Gom…, no can’t even bare to say his name. Reason? Mainly because we watched Monday night’s game and came to the same conclusion as most people did – The Panther is actually bloody useless! After his electric start of 4 goals in 4 games he’s since posted scores of 2, 2, 1, 2 and 2. His actual performance the other night was so shocking that even a game against Villa this week wasn’t proving enough of a reason to convince us to keep him. Which tells you everything you need to know. Ideally we’d have booted him out, changed the locks, snuck out the back door and moved house. The trouble with doing it this week was the lack of a quality replacement who also had the fixtures to justify the move this week. It was a basically a straight choice between replacing him with Lukaku or Bony, given that both have some favourable fixtures in the weeks ahead, or keeping him. In the end we just decided to stick with him. We just hope that the sight of him in our GW10 line-up isn’t enough to distract the rest of our, ahem, ‘stars’ from performing.

Our team in full…
Team Selection
Myhill starts in goal by default. Our defence isn’t exactly ideal this week, but then who’s ever is?! We expect Naughton and Kolarov may both be back this week so they start, for what it’s worth. Beyond that it was a straight choice between Francis and Morgan. Both are at home but Bournemouth have conceded just 3 in that respect as opposed to Leicester’s 10 so Franny gets the nod.
The front 7 picks itself of course with Westwood our 2 point sub should anyone else not make it. Then again if a certain Swansea ‘striker’ gets more than 2 we’ll be very surprised…

Captain
Our captain this week is…. Jamie Vardy
Man on fire. 9 in 9. Need we say more? He was a fairly unanimous pick. Even one of those that mischievously suggested Sanchez had declared on site earlier in the day that Vardy was their own preference.
Our vice-captain is…. Alexis Sanchez
Should something happen to Jamie we are happy to see Sanchez come in and fill the void.

Cheers silvers all the best pal
Looks well set for this week dc
Thanks kop..keep the good work up mate…
dc
Agree with the lads, you’re set I think.
Morning all.last stage suggestions required on my WC team.will fix it for this week now.any changes recommended here? GW9 had been a disaster for me with only 32 points. Need to be back where i was untill gw8. Is there a way i could fit utd cover into the team? Or is good as is?cheers all.
I always forget to attach my team..here it is.
Morning mate kane/martial is my call mate
Then you have a bit of money left to upgrade..cheers dc
Dc.thanks buddy.but i think its time for him to come back to his past season form.his fuxtures are also decent..cheers still
Morning Constantine,
I’d agree with dc, Kane to Martial would be what I’d do to get United cover.
Innit.Even i want martial art in.but, cant decide for whom.lukaku has awesome fixtures till gw19.vardy is a must for now and kane looks like he’s due for a hatty too.i might be wrong though.if he doesnt score even in the next 2 GWs, he’s out for good.
Who’s this Init you talk about?
I don’t necessarily agree with you about Kane as Spurs are struggling in front of the oppositions goal, but in saying that he’s worth a punt.
Haha..apologies there.was in chat with him yesterday. Guess i’m in the same trance still.yeah, he might be worth a punt. What are your overall views on the squad though? Cheers KOP.
I like it.
2 cheap but decent keepers. Solid defence. Bournemouth have started conceding a few goals but you’re unlikely to play Francis very often.
Plenty of goals in your mids & forwards. Lukaku will frustrate you but it’s difficult to ignore Everton’s fixtures.
Thanks kop and gp.dont have many options at 4.5m there, do we? Not planning of playing francis unless absolutely necessary. Hope wijnaldum card repays well.cheers to both of you and all the best for this GW. see u in the evening.
Constantine
I think you’ve set up very well on your WC.
I think Kane for now is fine actually looking at the next two. You can swap to Martial after that if you want.
You’ll have to do without United I think
kane is good for differential this week and next week
Casey..i know..but, if gets his past year’s form back, i guess he’s fixtures proof then.hope to see atleast a goa from him this week
Mata vs City or
Ighalo vs Stoke to start
Mata blanked last GW and Butland is in form. Torn between the 2
Or do I take a -4 hit for another player?
Last minute jitters
Fpldoc, Mata for me.a quality player usually does good in quality games.
No need for a hit mate but that defence needs a little bit of work 😉
Mata over Ighalo for me.
Thanks peeps
Yeh need an upgrade in defense for sure
Need to find a GW to mix it around a bit. Would do it now if I wernt trailing in my mini league
Doc
Mata. Play the player not the fixture
Doc. Mata. Easy.
Mata
Morning all, how are we? The FF247 team is looking good! Well done boys. How is everyones team looking?
Morning Alex,
Made a late night transfer (completely sober before you ask! ) and went Wanyama to Wijnaldum.
Lining up like this today:
Morning GP, that is a nice looking team and good transfer too. Well set. Any long term transfer plans?
Alex
The plan is to rotate Ayew, Lukaku (coming in for Sakho next week) and Wijnaldum for a few weeks.
Ayew still has a bit of time with me looking at the next four fixtures.
Longer term is to get McCarthy out.
All injury dependent of course.
A well thought out plan GP, I like it. Always find it hard to rotate forwards but with the amount of money floating around our teams at the minute it seems silly not to!
Good luck rotating Wijnaldum & Lukaku
Morning Kop, you well pal? You all set?
Kop
Which is why Ayew doing not much would help!
Morning Alex,
Yeah I’m all set mate. For another crap GW!
You?
I have some money on Wijnaldum on any time goal scorer. Good transfer.
What odds did you get B?
Thats a decent transfer there GP..any time better than the baggage wanyama.i’ve also included wijnaldum in my wc team. Has some decent fixtures ahead.
Thanks Constantine
Makes a lot of sense. Wanyama was annoying me just sitting there.
Sitting there and losing money..
Who is on San(C)hez ? B)
James Vardy (I tried to fit a C in but couldn’t!)
I am B.
Vardy is VC.
Me..
3 goals incoming then!!!!
Just wish coleman gets an assist though..cheers
i have San (c) hez too
was almost confident on going with Payet, but then you never know, Chelsea may come great at the back. that day might just be today
😉
