Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 13
Fantasy managers get tight hammies also, even we need a rest sometimes from the grind that is our committee meetings. So when the International Break rolled around it was well received. After a couple of weeks of bad transfers we certainly could use a break and fully mend our wounds. Hopefully these two weeks should cure everything that ails us as a committee. However before we move on let us give a quick rundown of why Wenger thinks we needed a rest.
We scored 40 points last game-week which was 5 below the average. This dropped us about 140K spots in the overall and this now leaves us in #$@%K, sorry 750K.
In goal we had Boaz Myhill who got a controversial start. Some in our committee felt like we should have bought de Gea in his place and voted that way. The others voted against it and then proceeded to buy a United defender for their own personal teams because it made sense. Interesting!
Our defence was one of the bright spots of the week. Kolarov delivered seven points, hopefully rotation doesn’t start to hurt his returns. Virgil van Dijk once again grabbed us a clean sheet and has been an excellent purchase, one of the few. In our last spot we have Naughton, who continued to disappoint right along with all Swansea players. However it’s not like we had any better options, as the only other playing defender we could have used was Morgan. We really do still have a Leicester defender. Which begs the question: Are you smarter than an FF247 site team committee member? Don’t answer that.
Our midfield didn’t just disappoint they were abysmal. Payet got us one point and is now out for three months to add insult to injury. Sanchez did nothing once again and might also be in line for a rest according to some sources or the naked eye. Mahrez decided to be a nice guy and gave his opportunity to score from the spot to well known Asian lover Jamie Vardy. Our last mid to complete the useless quartet was our captain KdB. He was only able to score 3 points for a total of 6 when doubled. Long day at the office for our mids.
Our front line wasn’t much better, but at least Superman Vardy once again dawned the cape and flew to the rescue. Jamie grabbed a goal, three bonus and still had time to give the lino the middle finger salute. Pelle is slowly starting to remind us of why we all dumped him last season, that’s three blanks in the last four. Bony will go down as the perfect replacement for Gomis. It is truly inspiring to see how we managed to get the best out of both during the span that we had them.

Transfer(s) for GW13 – Bony OUT – Lukaku IN & Payet OUT – Deulofeu IN
Rightly or wrongly we’ve gone all in on Everton. The Bony move was fairly unanimous. The fact that he was apparently injured made it a no-brainer. The fact that he somehow may have recovered actually didn’t change anyone’s opinion, which says it all about his woeful contribution to our team so far. But also, to be fair to him, it was in relation to the lure of Lukaku. A great fixture this week is followed by many more of the same. The sale of Payet to Deulofeu was a lot more obvious with Payet being ruled out for around 3 months and Deulofeu taking his Premier League form into the International break, where he scored 5 goals in 2 matches for the Spanish U21s.

Team Selection
The team pretty much selects itself, given the weakness/uselessness of those on the bench. We must have been hammered when we chose some of this lot. Anyway, on paper, the starting XI looks strong and ready for a great week – how many times have we all though that this season?! In goal is Myhill home to Arsenal – plenty of saves hopefully! At the back Kolarov, Naughton and van Dijk all have good chances of a clean sheet – that’s until Pellegrini decides to play Clichy and Koeman says that Virgil isn’t quite 100% “so we didn’t want to risk him” !!! Noooooooo. Go Naughton, our saviour. Our midfield four of Mahrez, Deulofeu, Sanchez and de Bruyne all have the ability to post a double digit return – oh how we live in faith. We have sent one of our number to Leicester to wrap Vardy in cotton wool and ensure he gets to Newcastle in one piece. Pelle is Pelle – doesn’t score when he should and then surprises. So we’ll expect nothing and wait to be pleasantly surprised. And then we have Lukaku, good ol’ Mr Consistent himself – this is your moment Romelu.

Captain – Romelu Lukaku
A fairly unanimous choice, ish. Home to Villa and in decent form, we truly believe Lukaku has the potential to push on, gain some consistency and more importantly in the short term – smash up the Villans. He had a nice rest with the Belgium game being cancelled so there really are no excuses for the lad.
Our vice-captain is Riyad Mahrez
Mahrez was nominated by one committee member for the armband, but the committee in their wisdom, chose Lukaku. If Romelu goes AWOL on a Friday night binge around Merseyside or pulls up in the warm up tomorrow, then we’d be quite happy for Mahrez to take the band up at Newcastle given the gung-ho approach Leicester take into games these days.

Morning all, site team is announced!
Cheers Cookie, do you think Costa could do well in the next few weeks.have lukaku and vardy already.
Morning 1 of 7,
I think I’m one of the few who are really expecting some good results over the next few weeks.
If I were trying to get cover, I’d be looking at Hazard or Willian offensively, not sure on Costa to be honest.
Thanks Cookie,I’m having a poor year so far, just trying to think of a differential.Great work with the site as always.
Cheers 1 of 7, very kind of you to say so.
We should set up a “Rubbish league” for a few of us
Best of luck FF247 team.
That bench is a worry. But you know that.
Cheers fellas.
I would imagine the lads will tackle it before the Christmas period.Great work with the community team Gp.

If not.
A worry? It’s a bleeding horror show!
I didn’t want to be cruel . . . .
Hey guys,
I’m wondering if I am set or not. I have 0FT and 3.2mil itb, and I am thinking of not taking any hits and leaving my team as it is. Also, good captain and vice captain choice?
nosaj
Looks fine to me. No more moves needing to be made.
Captain one could be a great pick if Leicester keep up their brilliant attacking play which they should.
1 FT and 4.3mn in the bank
Begovic
Kolarov Naughton Janmaat
Sanchez KDB Mata (c) Mahrez Barkley
Vardy Pelle
bench- Rudd Ighalo Francis Oxford
i repeat
1 FT and 4.3mn in the bank

nishant
Bank and plan a double move next week.
Thanks GP
Mata a good captain choice?
nishant
I see him being involved if Man Utd score a couple. Not sure they will score a couple though.
Hard to advise a captain but Pelle and Leicester maybe have better claims considering how tight Watford can be.
cheers GP
also would you get rid of Kolarov to Bellerin?
Morning all!!
Team for GW13, thoughts? Am I benching the right players? Is my choice for cappo ok?
Mitro
Have you considered bench boost? (Genuine question) the players on your bench could easily get a few points, given the fixtures
Mitro
What duthers said is definitely worth a look. You may be going for a DGW which is fine.
Team and captain is more than capable as is.
Gents – I did think of that but I would like to use it when I have a DGW!
Basically between two transfers, Francis to souare or pelle/ Costa to lukaku. Which of these would you go with?
Costa or Pelle can both wreak havoc this week! Hold on to both of them.. Francis to Souare for me..
Cheers, here’s hoping!
duthers
Attack could still do well given fixtures so I’d go Souare from Francis.
GP
Cheers, hopefully Costa finds his shooting boots
