Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 2
Interesting start to say the least. The FF247 team did not fail our members…well maybe just a little, well one in particular. If you would have told us that we were going to score 27 points, we probably would have asked on which day. Apparently FPL still has a sense of humour though and that was our grand total for the GW. Those 27 gave us a ranking of 2,155,382 which is good news and bad news at the same time. As always the bad news first, we have a long way to climb to beat last season’s rank. The good news, we shouldn’t see a red arrow until the New Year. Without further ado, let’s give you a quick rundown on who helped put us in this predicament before we talk about our plans for the coming GW.
In goal we went with the ever trusty Thibaut Courtois. Right, that went a little different than what we had planned. We knew he would be a standout keeper when we selected him and he did not fail to do so. As he certainly stood out from the crowd with that negative score. Luckily though we have Hennessey to fill in for a week. 😉
5 points from our defence. In a performance to forget, our defenders received 8 goals and picked up a yellow to boot. Our only sort of bright spot was Cedric who managed an assist, but even that came with a grain of salt as he was subbed off at halftime with a yellow in his back pocket too.
In the midfield we displayed tremendous cohesion. Well except for that unhappy City lad, Sterling. Who went against the grain and scored 3 points instead of two like all of our other mids. Included in those two pointers was our captain Eden Hazard. Who looked less dangerous than Arsenal in a street fight.
Our forwards did their best to save the week. Scoring 5 and 6 points is not exactly something to get over excited about, but after seeing the rest of our scores, we shouldn’t be ungrateful. So thank you Wayne and Fossil, it is appreciated.

Transfer(s) for GW2- We are going to save the transfer
What? Yeah, you read that right. We have decided to play with 10. It was always understood that a clean sheet was not super likely against City even with a CFC keeper. So we will take the 0 from Courtois instead of using a valuable transfer right before we bring in Aguero. You never know though, maybe Hennessey plays this week, stranger things have happened.

Our team in full…
Team Selection
We decided to go with a 3-4-3 and in a shockingly close vote decided to bench Milner over…wait for it…wait for it…Hazard. That’s right, part of our illustrious panel were still steaming at Hazard for his performance vs the Swans. So when it came time to decide on who we should make ride the pine, some still had a bone to pick with the Belgian dynamo. We guess we could say playing City away was part of the reason there was opposition to Haz, but that would take away from the story. It was not an easy decision to sit Milner at home vs Bournemouth. In fact what are we thinking? Well for us it was just a matter of liking each player in our attacking half more than James. Luckily for us though, James understands the art of being good, but not good enough to crack the starting line-up. Sorry Mr. Boring.

Captain
Our captain this week is Wayne Rooney
We have decided to go with the United striker. It was however not an easy decision as our votes were cast in several different ways. In the end it was a combination of fixture and a proven track record that won out. Hopefully this week Rooney can shoot before the paint dries as we can certainly use all the points we can get.
Our vice-captain is Sadio Mane
If Wayne can’t go for some reason we have decided to entrust our vice captaincy to Mane. Frankly if he has the chances he had last week, he is bound to score at least one if not more.

Morning all I have got to say I’m struggling with my Cap pick if Roo was playing tm I would stick it on him but I also fancy Mane & punt would be Ozil tough call.
I really want to captain Mane but fear which United will turn up. I could easily see them struggling to a 1-1 draw or tight win, but the could just as easily win 4-0 with a Rooney hatrick. He does usually do well against Villa and they haven’t beaten United for a long long time.I would love to captain Walcott but that stung me last week and cant get in Wengers head especially now Sanchez is back.
Silver, i’m on mane right now ahead of rooney n benteke.
do you feel it right for that?
So this is where I’m at the minute, resisted the urge to use my FT and trying to save it for next week.
Think my team is ok for this week and capo choice ok?
Any thoughts much appreciated!
Shadow – What a great team! I wouldn’t change anything. Saving the FT is the correct thing to do and I also agree with benching Coates over Ivanovic. You’re set! Good luck.
Morning Shadow
Team looks set to go mate. You’ve gone against the majority with Pelle, but it could work out! My only fear would be Sherwoods record of clean sheets at home and United/Rooney stats when playing Villa.
Thanks for the feedback.
Yeh choosing the captain has been the biggest decision this week, just basing it on Pelle’s pre season and last weeks form coupled with Everton’s shaky defence.
this is my team currently
Fabianski (Hennessey)
Ivanovic, Coates, Moragn (Francis Caulker)
Walcott, Hazard, Milner, Mahrez (Schneiderlin )
Pelle, Rooney Berahino
have done some thinking and have decided i will transfer out caulker. Im thinking that i still want southhampton coverage as they have good fixtures and should keep some clean sheets, so im thinking of bringing in cedric. maybe you can think of another mid priced defender i could bring in or maybe i should swap one of my mids or forwards.
THANKS
Konrad – Hey man.
So since you’ve decided on transferring Caulker out I’d recommend going with, already mentioned Cédric OR Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham. Both teams have good fixture.
Good luck!
It’s GW2…
– Hazard (vs City away),
– Cedric (vs Everton home),
– Mahrez (vs West Ham away)
Pick 2 – who should I go for?
Ian – Hey.
Hazard and Mahrez.
I agree that Cédric’s fixture is the best one out of the three, but I’d bench him because I’d always go with midfielders or forwards over defenders.
haz abd cedric for me
And* damn u keyboard..
lol
All set for tonight I think, and likely going Pelle captain. Also tempted by Hazard, as if anyone cracks the City defence it’ll be him. We’ll see… Team is below. The second team is my South Americans only team ¡ORALE! for the restricted teams league- what do you think?
oh, and the watchlist is my list of available players for the season- not much to go on!
Good work putting the watch list together, looks like it’ll make your life a whole lot easier when sorting your options.
I have captained pelle as well. I was going to pick Rooney but watching the united game last week i noticed the he had no one providing him with opportunities, except for mata. Everton do not look as stable at the back as they were 2 seasosn ago. pelle is bound to get chances on goal against an everton side that concede 2 against a newly promoted team.
I have changed my Cap 3 times now its on Mane @ present 😉
