Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 2
Interesting start to say the least. The FF247 team did not fail our members…well maybe just a little, well one in particular. If you would have told us that we were going to score 27 points, we probably would have asked on which day. Apparently FPL still has a sense of humour though and that was our grand total for the GW. Those 27 gave us a ranking of 2,155,382 which is good news and bad news at the same time. As always the bad news first, we have a long way to climb to beat last season’s rank. The good news, we shouldn’t see a red arrow until the New Year. Without further ado, let’s give you a quick rundown on who helped put us in this predicament before we talk about our plans for the coming GW.
In goal we went with the ever trusty Thibaut Courtois. Right, that went a little different than what we had planned. We knew he would be a standout keeper when we selected him and he did not fail to do so. As he certainly stood out from the crowd with that negative score. Luckily though we have Hennessey to fill in for a week. 😉
5 points from our defence. In a performance to forget, our defenders received 8 goals and picked up a yellow to boot. Our only sort of bright spot was Cedric who managed an assist, but even that came with a grain of salt as he was subbed off at halftime with a yellow in his back pocket too.
In the midfield we displayed tremendous cohesion. Well except for that unhappy City lad, Sterling. Who went against the grain and scored 3 points instead of two like all of our other mids. Included in those two pointers was our captain Eden Hazard. Who looked less dangerous than Arsenal in a street fight.
Our forwards did their best to save the week. Scoring 5 and 6 points is not exactly something to get over excited about, but after seeing the rest of our scores, we shouldn’t be ungrateful. So thank you Wayne and Fossil, it is appreciated.

Transfer(s) for GW2- We are going to save the transfer
What? Yeah, you read that right. We have decided to play with 10. It was always understood that a clean sheet was not super likely against City even with a CFC keeper. So we will take the 0 from Courtois instead of using a valuable transfer right before we bring in Aguero. You never know though, maybe Hennessey plays this week, stranger things have happened.

Our team in full…
Team Selection
We decided to go with a 3-4-3 and in a shockingly close vote decided to bench Milner over…wait for it…wait for it…Hazard. That’s right, part of our illustrious panel were still steaming at Hazard for his performance vs the Swans. So when it came time to decide on who we should make ride the pine, some still had a bone to pick with the Belgian dynamo. We guess we could say playing City away was part of the reason there was opposition to Haz, but that would take away from the story. It was not an easy decision to sit Milner at home vs Bournemouth. In fact what are we thinking? Well for us it was just a matter of liking each player in our attacking half more than James. Luckily for us though, James understands the art of being good, but not good enough to crack the starting line-up. Sorry Mr. Boring.

Captain
Our captain this week is Wayne Rooney
We have decided to go with the United striker. It was however not an easy decision as our votes were cast in several different ways. In the end it was a combination of fixture and a proven track record that won out. Hopefully this week Rooney can shoot before the paint dries as we can certainly use all the points we can get.
Our vice-captain is Sadio Mane
If Wayne can’t go for some reason we have decided to entrust our vice captaincy to Mane. Frankly if he has the chances he had last week, he is bound to score at least one if not more.

Oscar is a doubt for Chelsea.
HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys think Walcott and Bellerin will start?
Who to Captain?
Cech
Cedric Toby Oxford
Hazard Milner Caz Tadic
Defore Aguero Rooney
Hennessey Anya Huth Mings
Im hesitant with Aguero since I think Jose would give Chelsea the hair dryer treatment and park the bus.
United didnt look to give Rooney that much ball against Spurs…
Tadic will be a great differential for you.
B,
I would… but its the same odds probably as giving it to Defoe…
Its a very tough one this GW
Afternoon all,
Think I’m going to have to drop wally tonight after deadline as i cant do what i had planned if i lose 0.1 on him.
Need to down him to a 7.0 mid.
Who is the best pick out of Ayew, Tadic, Shakira & Chadli?
Currently thinking Tadic or is there anyone else?
Cheers
Tadic 7M? Like him and I like Soton.
cheers Raz,
Think Soton fixtures are quite good & he could be a good differential
I have the same prob as you, don’t know what to do with Wally. He will drop and I don’t like big droppers this early. Plus, I don’t trust Wenger.
No i dont trust him either.
I think Wally will be constantly rotated this season as they have so many options so gonna have to jump off that one quickly.
I hate doing early transfers but need to on this occasion so he’s out tonight otherwise i wont have enough for kun
Well, tonight I’ll have 2 FT’s. This is my team by the way. Don’t want to use my FT. You think I’m set?
1st Reply fail of the year!
see post 41
Hackers, Out of that bucnh I’d say Awey at the minute. Tadic is 7.5 btw.
Tadic is 7m. 😉
In deed Raz thx
Afternoon everyone. This is my team for tonight happy with it but reading all this about Wally dropping in price tonight I’m thinking of getting rid of him as soon as the deadline passes. Thinking of Wally to Ayew but this will leave me with no Arsenal cover what do you think??
Thinking the same, we have to wait and see what will happen with Arsenal this season. And wally, well, I always want him but I will only get him if and when Giroud breaks his legs. :p Bwahahahar.
Ayew that good?
Also, Ayew over Montero?
Montero is on my watch list.
So you still thinking of taking Walcott out tonight before he drops?? He impressed me the other day but I could actually bring in Payet ill have the money.
Hmmm. Hard one. Oooh, forgot about Payet, lol. He looks to be involved in everything WHU does and will do.
Ye and atleast he’s guaranteed gametime unlike Wally. Plus fixtures are favourable.
Think im going Tadic over Ayew. Nice fixtures wk3 & 4
Hmm I didn’t even think of Tadic might consider him now.
Dont think many will have him either
Keep in mind SOton are still in Europe though, we still don’t know how this will effect them.
That is true may just go for Payet instead for Walcott.
Nice that you have 2 FT after tonight. I’ve used mine this week to sort out my keeper unfortunately.
Team looks good. Mane Capt could be a real differential as most (inc me) have gone with tekkers.
The only thing i would say is that i have benched Merts as i feel palace could give them a few troubles. Doesn’t look like you have great cover for him though.
I would be tempted by Coates over merts if i knew he would play
Fail on the reply to Raz post 39!
Shit, old GW2. Coates should be playing over Azpi though. 😉
City will score for sure.
I would imagine that they will.
You’re good to go then
Hammers, you will have to get yourself a new grav, its the same as mine. :p
LOL,
Your’s has a slightly grey tinge to the background where its been used so much whereas mine is new & shiny white!
This would surely be more approprate, right?
Bry, that makes him look like a hammers fan. What about this.
“Carpenter”.
Could work well.
Get a hammer and sickle going :big-lol:
Am I set to go?
Ruddy
Azpilicueta-Cedric-Jenkinson
Hazard-Sterling-Ozil-Mane (vc)
Rooney-Pelle (c)-Ighalo
Butland-Sinclair-Coates-Huth
Still undecided on captain
Think your all set mate.
i hope so, cheers
