Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 22

With that game-week done, that is one less we have to worry about embarrassing ourselves in. Another pathetic showing from the FF247 XI, good thing FPL doesn’t have relegation, otherwise we drop from the Premier straight into the Sunday leagues. However, no matter how bad we perform you can never say we are not pretty predictable. That makes it red arrows in 9 of the last 11 weeks and nothing in our recent past points to a turn in our luck. We managed 30 this GW, which was 5 below the average, but about 5 more than you should expect. We now sit in 1.2 million and we find that the teams around our ranking usually are ran by people who colour coordinate their teams or only have players with names that start with the letter R. Never mind, the managers with the letter R (Rooney, Ramsey) now sit way higher than us.

We should caveat this with a credential check though! Just so you all know that we aren’t a bunch of idiot chancers. Normally, anyway! This committee, individually at least, are no mugs. We boast at least three recent top 500 finishes, one of whom came close to winning the bloody thing a few short years back and another managed to occupy two of the top ten places in the final MLS standings last season! It’s not a bad CV all told and the same guys steered it to a respectable top 6k finish last season. It has however been laughably unlucky in just about every aspect so far this season! Not a weekend goes by now without a laugh out loud moment behind the scenes as every single decision we make takes a turn for the worse, be it an own goal, a red card or just plain not even starting (see Rangel below!).  So yeah, we know what we are doing but collectively we are just doing it dreadfully this year!

GW21 in summary
We think we will choose to remember this game-week as the one when we finally starting picking our captains somewhat right, sort of. Hold on, let us explain… technically we didn’t select wrong. Our capo was our second highest scorer on the team. Problem was, he only scored three points. Considering how the season has went though, we will count that as a win. On defence, we had what looked like our least reliable defender Dijk, pick up the most points with 8. Hennessey gave away a goal, Rangel didn’t start, but luckily came in and helped Swansea concede 3 goals and our prized pupil Bellerin was part of a defence that conceded 3 goals to a combination of Firmino and the Welsh Xavi Joe Allen. Our illustrious midfield combined for a total of 10 points and not to be outdone our trio of star forwards combined for 6 points. So basically the seven of them got outscored by a Fossil (Defoe) by one point, 17-16. Splendid, can’t wait for the 2016-17 season.

Transfer/s decision for GW22 – we have sold Harry Kane and bought Sergio Aguero…
As decided last time we have bought Kun, hoping that his explosiveness will reappear and propel us up the rankings. We don’t feel the need to justify Kun, although we admit that watching the Spurs game vs Sunderland may produce some nervous moments and knowing our luck some behind-the-scenes arguments, despite everyone agreeing the move! Here’s hoping Kun’s Wednesday night blank was him just waiting for us to get on board and that Kane doesn’t punish us too severely!

Our team in full…

Captain – Sergio Aguero
Home to Palace who have failed to score in four matches, we are banking on City having plenty of the ball and creating chance after chance for the goal-hungry Aguero, who will slot away another five-goal haul. Desperate? Optimistic? Confident? Well, we’re certainly two of the above – and given our ranking we feel it’s perfectly understandable.

Our vice-captain is Riyad Mahrez
If Kun gets lost on his way to the ground and tears his hamstring in the warm up, Mahrez will take the armband.

Aren’t you guys worried about rotations that may take place in the city lineup?

It’s not ideal given Kane’s fixture but – he was the only one that could make it work funds wise, we really wanted Kun for this one and he’s a slight differential captain at this point, Lukaku had to stay due to form and also fixtures ahead, plus we’ve more or less followed logic all season and look where that’s got us!

What would you have done this week Mahelmy?

      • mahelmy says:

Actually would keep kane and save transfer or solve another area like goalkeeper especially you have only 1 and will not get clean sheet tomorrow and if he get it this means aguero kdb nothing
Aguero sure long term but you another expensive player kdb
So around 25 m with current form of city is not logic for me
Kane was better for this week especially crystal palace didn’t concede alot and Sunderland defense you know well

Thanks Mahelmy, nicely debated. Good points, one and all. All were discussed apart from possibly the keeper situation but we are yet to get any outfield decisions correct yet so one small step at a time smile City’s home form is still fairly formidable. 12 goals in 4 home games prior to Everton and that one was always going to be tight. Anyway, what’s done is done, let’s see if our luck changes any.

I am going with Mahrez as cappo. Not that anyone should listen to me, I am also doing terribly.

I am playing the FF247 team with week in the H2H League; and just to keep things interesting, I am NOT going to cap Aguero. Best of luck

You guys would near more of a handicap than that to make it nearly interesting 😉

I am not sure if this is the best week to transfer out Kane
he is a could captain choice this week

but the fear of not having Kun has started to loom in the fpl world

next job for the community team would be to get a playing second goalie at least if not a great one
    Rudd looks good

    also Payet needs due consideration

but the team is great for the week and the captain is really good
