Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 24

Let your cheering and applause engulf us!! We are inside the top 1 million now. That’s right we have made it and will no longer be forced to fight in the pits, a la Spartacus (Season 1). With a score of 63 we were 20 points above the average. It was 272k ranking for the game-week and it made it back to back weeks over 60 points for the first time this season. We now sit in 839k and that is the highest we have been since GW13. Hopefully this signals that our luck is turning and we will no longer be held hostage, by the black cloud that has been hovering over us for what seems all season long.

GW23 in summary A strong overall week for the FF247 team despite another wrong choice with the captaincy. Hennessey got us 3 points, nothing to write home about, but still better than the zero he got us last GW. Our defence did a good job, with both Morgan and Olsson snatching a clean sheet. Bellerin was the only one to miss out, when his team did their usual bending over to Chelsea. Midfield was saved by man of the hour Alli. An assist, goal and the three bonus for the young man amounted to 13 points. That coupled with a Mahrez six point outing (no missed penalties) was enough to secure a decent score from our mids, despite being let down by Ozil and KdB. Our forwards delivered the goods, well except for the one we captained, predictably. Vardy grabbed 7 points and the person who should have been our captain Aguero scored 12. Lukaku (C) let us down when he wasn’t able to deliver the big blow that would have really seen us rocket up the overall. Oh well, there is always next week and another shot at the captaincy so let us get to our plans…

Transfer/s decision for GW24… Sold Kevin de Bruyne for Dimitri Payet
We hung fire as long as we could in the hope or expectation that we would receive some indication either way on the possibility of a DGW25, as this may have played a factor in our decision making. Had it been confirmed, then Silva or Yaya could have been coming in this week instead. It may still be confirmed tomorrow but it’s looking unlikely at this point. In the absence of that we went with our original and preferred choice of Payet. We could have bought anyone really and certainly Silva and Sanchez came into the reckoning regardless of any double news but Silva has a blank in GW27 and we already own Ozil. And more importantly we didn’t own Payet! Since he burst back onto the scene properly in GW21, with a goal and an assist against Bournemouth, he’s actually blanked twice but that really doesn’t tell the full story as he was magnificent against Man City and his underlying stats back up our assertion that he is likely to explode again at any given moment. Playing Villa is always helpful in that respect!

The team in full

Given the choices afforded within the squad, the team pretty much picks itself this week. Deulofeu is the one that could make us look daft but someone had to sit it out from that front 8 and we’ve gone with Mahrez vs the comical Liverpool defence.

Captain – Sergio Aguero
Having missed out last week, we weren’t going to make the same mistake again and Kun as captain was a unanimous vote, which makes a change. Away to a Sunderland side and in great form we are uber confident that Kun won’t let us down. Uh oh!

Our vice-captain is Romelu Lukaku
Hopefully Luk won’t be required to wear the armband given his shocking showing last week.

    hey guys

struggling what to do with KDB and have 2 options i’d like to float. He has already dropped 0.3 so wont be dropping anymore until next gw but do i

    1. Transfer out KDB and get in Barkley? I fancy some Everton cover v Newcastle, and don’t have Lukaku (worried i could miss out). If i did this i would play 3-5-2 and bench Igahlo to accommodate Barkley.

    or

    2. Do I leave KDB on the bench, and play 3-4-3 instead?

    thanks guys smile

What’s your squad looking like buddy?

      • plug_in_baby_x says:

        Henessey
        Collins, Bellerin, Sagna
        Mahrez, Alli, Payet, Ozil
        Kane, Aguero, Igahlo

        Subs: Myhill, Ward, Simpson, KDB

        • Neo says:

Personally, I would hold the transfer and play 3-4-4. If you look in the long run, you should bring in Sanchez for KDB and look to play them during the blank week.

Barkley might score you points, yes, but he will blank on GW 27! Holding the FT to give you options SHOULD be better IMO – though of course, trust your gut feel

          3-4-3* :p

Afternoon all, just a reminder that this gw (24) is the 2nd round of the Regulars cup. If you want to see who you are up against go to live match chat gw 22, page 13. Good luck to all who are still in the comp.

Quick question chaps. If you had to lose Kane or Lukaku to bring in Aguero, which one would it be?

    Hi guys,

Hope you’re all keeping well. My team is below, having transferred out KDB for Sanchez before the Chilean’s price went up on Saturday night. So, I’m rather keen, it’s fair to say, to bring in Aguero. I’ve got two different routes – which do you think is the best?:

    1. Kane > Aguero before the GW deadline this evening for a 4-point hit (£0.1m left in the bank)
    2. Ighalo > Aguero, Darmian > Targett and Alderweireld > Simpson for an 8-point hit next GW (£0 left in the bank and so would be before Aguero, Targett and Simpson go up in price)
    3. Something different you guys can recommend?!

I’m leaning towards option 2 as, although it’s another four points of hit, Kane is at home to Watford next GW and then will actually have a game in GW27, Darmian appears to be injured and Alderweireld hasn’t scored much recently and so Targett and Simpson wouldn’t be dramatically different in scoring potential, I wouldn’t have thought.

Your thoughts would be much appreciated smile

What about Lukaku & Moreno -> Kun & cheap defender?

      Pippin says:

Why not Kane > Kun and then Lukaku to Kane next week? Moreno and Alderweireld are two defenders I have been thinking of dropping myself but their fixtures are decent. Add in rotating pair of Evans and Williams and I think your defence is reasonable (especially given general lack of CS). I wouldn’t be taking hits for defenders mate.

Depends whether moving Kane in/out loses you money / that bothers you, I guess. But for my money this is a better solution than hits?

    Hi All,

Asked this last night, but would appreciate some more expert advise… Im still very undecided.
I need to sell KdB… Current attacking squad is
Ozil Mahrez Payet Westwood and KdB
    Aguero, Ighalo Lukaku.
    2Ft and 0.3m itb

    Would you do:
    1 – KdB to Silva
2 – KdB and Westwood to Firmino and Alli
    3 – Something else?

    Thanks again!

    Hi guys,

    Am I good to go?

Only thing I was considering is Ozil to Sanchez for a -4

    £4m ITB

    any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Hold the transfer till next week. Southampton have been tight recently and Ozil has been rested – he has as good a chance as Sanchez to score points, if any
