Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 26
‘You’re s**t and you know you are, you’re s**t and you know are’ was heard echoing around the streets near to the FF247 offices as we arrived for work on Monday morning. Who was singing it? We’re not sure, but we have our suspicions! As you’ve probably guessed or in all likelihood you’ve come to assume at this stage we got our customary red arrow, our 13th of the season. GW25 saw us pick up 58pts which gave us a GW ranking of 1,758,718. The good news is that we’re still inside the top 1m with an OR of 997,243. Things are bad when we consider that to be good news!
GW25 in summary – It was s**t, that about sums it up. You want the gory details? Ok so, but it ain’t pretty! Wayne ‘I no longer know how to keep a clean sheet’ Hennessy conceded after just 13 minutes, at least he didn’t try to get our hopes up. Our defence didn’t do too badly as we garnered two clean sheets from a possible three thanks to van Dijk & Bellerin. Our midfield wasn’t bad either as they combined for two goals & two assists. Unfortunately though it was Mahrez & Ozil who did most of the damage and them being the two most popular midfielders they might as well not have bothered for all the good it did. We’re not bitter though and at least they performed unlike Dimitri Payet who once again did diddly squat. And so to the forwards who were something of a disappointment. By all accounts our captain Harry Kane had quite a good game and was rather unlucky not to find himself on the scoresheet. Unfortunately Harry we didn’t pick you to have a good game, we picked you to score. Granted Sergio Aguero did find the back of the net but when you pay over £13m for a player you really do expect more. Jamie Vardy also failed to score this week but he’s done more than enough for us over the course of the season.
Transfer decision for GW26 Sold Olsson, Bought Wollscheid
No your eyes do not deceive you. In what can only be described as the most boring transfer we’ve made this season and we’ve made a few, we have sold Jonas Olsson and bought Philipp Wollscheid. When we held our transfer meeting last night we had in fact agreed on a much more exciting & radical transfer…we were going to sell Aguero and buy Costa. However we decided to wait until after today’s press conferences before pulling the trigger. The news that David Silva is fit for City coupled with Costa’s broken nose forced us to shelve that transfer.
So why sell Olsson? Well West Brom haven’t exactly been solid at the back in recent times and with a number of tough fixtures on the horizon we’ve decided that now is the right time to ship out the Swede. With Stoke having kept just one clean sheet in their last seven games and conceding 15 in that period, you’re probably wondering why we’ve replaced him with Wollscheid. With Ryan Shawcross due to return in GW27 we’re banking on him adding some much needed solidity to the Stoke defence. The main reason however is that as things currently stand Stoke are one of only four teams guaranteed to play in GW30. In essence this transfer has been made with one eye on the future. We should also add that we had 2 free transfers so we thought better to “use than lose” and we will again have 2 free transfers for GW27 and beyond.

Captain – Sergio Aguero
We’ve turned into a fickle bunch in these parts. Instead of selling Sergio Aguero this week we have instead decided to hand him the captain’s armband. Given the fixtures this weekend there was no standout candidate for the armband, so when in doubt captain Aguero! He’s got a great track record at home against Spurs and City will be desperate to bounce back following last weekend’s defeat at the hands of Leicester.
Our vice-captain is Mesut Ozil

Morning all.
Team look set?
Cookie is making me a little paranoid with benching allI over ighalo though haha
Who is in better form? ie can’t stop scoring. And which one has looked nackered and hasn’t scored for 4/5 games?
I’ll leave it with ya
Cookie
I cannot argue with you… and city’s defense wasn’t that great last week… think I’m convinced
Thinking of a cheeky armband on firming now as well…
It was between Lukaku and Firmino for me also PP.
I went Lukaku but was a close all and I could be wrong but not changing it now.
Cookie
Think I will gamble on ighalo.
Think city (although rubbish defense) would have worked hard on it this week and don’t see spurs scoring more than 1. Whereas ighalo has blanked against big teams recently and was rested last cup and palace have been letting them in for fun. So just gonna take a risk
Firming is currently vc for me
looks very strong Peter
GTG? Or is there any changes needed? Not sure on my cap aswell
FDMS, personally I’d play PVA over The child of the Wolf. Both will likely conceded, the Wolf’s son contributes nothing going forward, PVA clearly does.
Capo is a fair shout but ultimately your decision.
Best of luck.
FDMS – I’d prob play Gomes. As for captain I have it the other way around between V and C at the moment but not sure on it
Anybody captaining Ozil?
Morning guys,
Benching Mahrez this week! Arsenal conceded only 7 at home all season and although Mahrez is involved in 50% of Leicester goals it is likely to be 50% of 0 or 1.
Palace leaking goals so Ighalo in and Dann on bench.
Payet playing well and Norwich lost to Villa…. So he gets the armband over Firmino ( close call).
I am up to 2nd in my main mini league, 8 points behind leader and 14 ahead of 3rd.
Had 2 transfers ( Baines out; Ivanovich in ) so will have 2 ft again next week.
Have I drunk too much coffee and lost the plot?
Cheers
Magic, it is all a game of opinions mate. I refer you however to some of the meltdowns people have had after benching Mahrez and then benching him again!! But it’s your call mate!
I got his points against City last week. Bit ungrateful of me I suppose
You know the dangers and you know what he can do.
As B says below don’t be moaning tomorrow if he performs like he has in most away matches this season!
As I learnt last week………..never bench Mahrez………….
Mitro, would you recommend Magic benches Mahrez?
If I see people moaning here later because of Mahrez’ double figure benched points, I swear Ill renew the license of my shot gun and go crazy.
I wont complain… you have to take your decisions on the chin. Just spotted the post about Ighalo looking knackered though. If so its Mahrez and Dann back in and Ighalo and Bellerin on bench. Tough choice though.
Morning guys, it this team all set? And who’s everyone captaining? Is Payet too much of a punt?
I’d prob play Hennessey over Butland as I think Bournemouth will score Matt. The rest looks good and Payet could go great vs Norwich but despite playing well he is not scoring the points – let’s hope that changes today.
Good luck mate.
I was literally just looking at Butland to Hennessey mate haha. Cheers let’s hope he goes wild today. Good luck to you too Cook
Cheers Matt
Ive done it too but feel a bit uneasy on the choice. Payet should score well against Norwich but a gamble all the same. The rest of your front 7 are in top 4 clashes so Payet stands out as a good option
Hey Magic, that’s exactly how I feel like he hasn’t been that attacking or good recently so I’m a bit wary he’ll only get 2 points but Im willing to take a punt.
Morning all who would you bench Huth or Dier ?????
Morning Silver, I have Huth and Alderwiereld benched so I’m not sure how much help I’ll be but I’d keep Dier over Huths just slightly.
Morning MattX I was leaning towards Huth because of form not sure both are going to leek goals.
Good luck this GW 😉
Yeah that’s true.
Good luck to you too mate.
