Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 34
CHIPS?! BLOODY CHIPS! Listen Mr FPL, we’re not liking your soddin’ CHIPS right now, we’ll tell you that much… Rant over. Maybe. In case you missed it we played a STUPID CHIP, sorry – *calms down*, last week. We decided to play, as many did, the WC CHIP ahead of GW33 with the intention of playing our Bench Boost CHIP this week. As you may have guessed already it didn’t go swimmingly! We ripped up our nicely performing and well crafted squad to replace it with one full of high hope for GW34 with that other CHIP, the BB, in mind. Had we not played it then we’d have scored… aww, you know what, never even mind, STUPID CHIPS!!!!
Our DGW wildcard totalled 61pts, only slightly above the average of 56pts and ended our nice little run of green arrows as we dropped 30k places to our new rank of 323,660. But of course our wildcard was played with this week’s big DGW in mind so we hope for bigger and better things in DGW34. Our doublers in GW33, Ward and Lukaku, suffered contrasting fortunes, just not the way we imagined. Lukaku was cack, crap, a waste of time, dress it up as you will, but he was a major disappointment especially in the respect that we captained him. Ward on the other hand was a superstar – one assist, two clean sheets, three bonus points, four points for just turning up = a five star performance. The single game players were mixed – de Gea and Monreal both conceded three goals but Simpson again kept a clean sheet and gained two bonus points. In midfield, Mahrez and Lanzini did nothing and KdB played just 31 minutes as a sub – at least Alexis maintained his form with a goal at West Ham. And up front, Aguero did what Aguero does – a goal and three bonus points, why didn’t we captain him?! Rashford was hauled off at half-time and then of course there was Lukaku…..
Transfer / CHIP! decision for GW34
This one was debated long and hard! Playing a WC one week, with the expectation that the majority of those players would still be fit / healthy / selected / mentally unimpaired / uninjured / unjailed / unsuspended / not deported / able to speak English, really shouldn’t be that much of a stretch. Should it?! Well, it would appear that sometimes it is. Ok, so granted, none actually got deported or jailed, but hey, given the luck of the rest, there’s still time yet.
The main decision then was whether to proceed with the planned Bench Boost or indeed change tact completely and opt for a Triple Captain and risk having a squad worthy of a BB in DGW37. In doing so we did the simplest thing possible and laid out our team as if we were going to pick it for a normal week and then asked the question whether the remaining bench merited the BB over a possible TC on say Sanchez. And boy was it close! The debate got heated in the kitchen to such an extent that one person actually put his pinny on and flounced off in a huff.. to the kitchen. To cook. We kid you not. The YMCA has nothing on this committee in full flow!
It turned out that Gabriel was the crux of this gamble – if he was to play then he could significantly boost that bench with two great home games and two chances of a clean sheet. Without him we may be snookered but we decided ultimately that we had played the WC last week with the intention of a BB and so we would go through with that.
And so, looking at the squad we asked if there were other small holes? Well, it would seem that there may have been a massive post-GW33 grudge against one certain individual and we won’t give you two guesses as to who that may have been! Now, ordinarily, to sell a player who is about to have a DGW would be idiocy, we agree. But hear us out. HE’S AN IDIOT, AND WE HATE HIM! *sorry, calms down again*. In seriousness we feel his time will be limited due to Everton’s impending, and let’s face it, more important FA Cup Semi-Final date. We are of course talking about Lukaku…
And so what to do with him?! This is where all logic flew out of the window and Andy Carroll flew in! Neither plays in GW35 so that kind of negated itself but we just fancied the punt on him, especially as he will be more likely to play both games now that West Ham are out of the FA Cup. That’s if he doesn’t injure himself in the warm up for the Leicester game… Which, let’s face it, is very likely.
The team in full
Captain – Alexis Sanchez
Two strong home games and a player looking like he’s finally coming back into form. In GW34… Nice one Alexis! Maybe take a break sometime, eh. Anyway we fancy he will at least play both games and probably in full as they have nothing else to play for now as opposed to Aguero and City who have the small matter of a Champions League Semi-Final coming up and so may be giving limited minutes to their stars ahead of that.
Our Vice-captain is Sergio Aguero

0 in the bank and 1FT.
Need some suggestions.
1. Should I get rid of lukaku and get someone else?
2. Should I take a -4point hit to get rid of lukaku and gabriel.
Who should I get instead of them?
Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.
KP, sell Lukaku in my view. Loads of options, choose your favourite:
DGW and plays in 35:
Origi, Welbeck, Mitrovic
DGW but no game in 35:
Rashford, Martial, Carroll
No DGW but Villa at home in 35:
Pelle, Long.
Oh and of course, don’t forget Vardy!
Sturridge, Origi or Welbeck (already have Rashford and Aguero)
Am I silly dismissing Carroll? I just can’t see Leicester letting anything in. How I am letting this game consume me!!
Thank you in advance as always your help is very much appreciated
Good Luck everyone (I think we may need it) X
Joanne, I know it’s horrible at times isn’t it. I have enough decided what I’m going to do yet, only just working it out now.
If you only have 2 Arsenal now then maybe Welbeck. No CL issues to worry about and their fixtures are great.
Thank you again Cookie I am getting rid of Gan so will only have Sanchez and Bellerin, I’m going Welbeck. Hope you have a good week x
Morning all
The Lukaku situation has left me pondering with no answers over the last 24 hours. I have some options:
Lukaku to Carroll -4pts
Lukaku to Pelle -4 pets
Lukaku and Lindgard to Rashford and Milner -8pts
Lukaku and Lindgard to Carroll and Milner -8pts
Or do nothing.
Team: DDG, Robles
Bellerin, Gabriel, Smalling, Lovren, Simpson
Sanchez, Coutinho, KDB, Payet, Lingard
Aguero, Martial, Lukaku. Playing BB
Any ideas?
Tomo – yeah the whole thing is a mind-f**k.
I like the Pelle option – I know he doesn’t double but you’ll be glad you have him next week home to Villa. Plus he is in great form so he could easy carry on his recent form today also.
Morning all
With the uncertainty over Gabriel & lukaku is it worth a -4 to swap them to welbeck & darmian/rojo?
Have to do both as I have 3 gooners already.
Just realised I can squeeze cresswell in instead so…
Gabriel & lukaku
to
Cresswell & welbeck
For a -4?
Looks good Hammers. Sorry for the delay!
Morning folks,
WC was a disaster last week so I expect BB to be the same this week!
Morning Kop, hope you & yours are keeping well. Wanted to ask you if you could choose any 2 mid from your boys, who would you choose?
ATF, how goes it mate?
Has to be Coutinho & Firmino but I can’t see both 180mins in GW34. Milner should start both but will probably play as one of the two defensive mids and he’s least effective there.
Overall, life is good! The empress is good, casting favour upon her subjects. Work is good and FFS has been surprisingly good – knock on wood. Didn’t WC last week, hence going into this week with 7 DGW players. Thinking of BB or to hold. Not sure who to captain either….
Kop – I took a massive -12 this week, after wildcarding last week. Can you beat that ?
Afraid not Dreamers
Just a -4 for me!
Courtois
Dier gabriel fuchs tagertt bennett
mahrez fabregas sanchez siggy Lennon
Ageuro kane lukaku
have all out attack and triple captain still in use…
thinkin of using all out attack this week
de Gea
Gabriel Dier
sanchez siggy de Bruyne mahrez iwobi
Ageuro kane carroll
is worth a 12 point hit with 1.3mill in the bank
Looks good Barry, go for it!
