Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 10

Fantasy football tipsFrom the sublime to the ridiculous in just one gameweek – 105pts in GW8 became just 45pts in GW9. Average at best, could of been worse we guess, but disappointing nonetheless. The average score was only 38pts so maybe we are being harsh on ourselves. Our top scorer was the ever dependable Baines, who’s assist and 2bps compensated somewhat for the lack of a clean sheet. We did have clean sheets from Alderweireld and Taylor, while Fabregas assisted to also contribute 6pts. Our captain Aguero missed a few simple chances and arguably could of been sent off in City’s loss at West Ham, while Siggy was looking good for a half decent score until his manager transferred him out on 57mins as a precaution. Last week’s transfer, Pelle assisted for a 5pt return, but Tadic, Krul, Di Maria and Welbeck all underperformed. So 45pts, we actually climbed 8 places in the rankings to 671st place – so we shouldn’t be too down, it was just one of those weeks.

Transfer for GW10
We explained our rationale last week in selling Diego Costa and buying Graziano Pelle and suggested that our probable move this week would be to reverse that. After a week’s worth of speculation, reports and rumours, we can confirm that we have indeed:

sold Graziano Pelle and bought back Diego Costa
Despite wanting Costa back in the side for the visit of QPR, it was still a wrench to sell Pelle, who impressed again vs Stoke, assisted Mane for the goal and got himself is some great positions to score. However, Costa is Costa, Chelsea are Chelsea and indeed QPR are QPR!! We still have Saints attacking coverage in Tadic, so we feel justified in sticking to our plans re Costa.
We have decided to play Krul in goal at home to Liverpool – hopefully they can do an early game-week job on the Liverpool strikeforce.
At the back Alderweireld and Baines select themselves and joining them is Moore, who’s Leicester team host West Brom. It was a pretty tough call between him, Hutton (home to Spurs) and Taylor (away at Everton). A bit like having to choose which ugly girl to snog at a party – we had to choose one and we plumped with Moore.
The midfield and attack selects itself!

Captain
Unsurprisingly, we are captaining Costa. The QPR fixture is too good to ignore and we are not fooled by the cleansheet they kept at home to Villa on Monday. With Chelsea looking to get back to winning ways after dropping 2pts at Old Trafford, we feel Jose will want his side to put on a show and dispose of their West London rivals with ease.
Our vice captain is Sergio Aguero.

nice team guys. and good decision to get costa back.
but i am not too sure getting rid of pelle was the right choice. at least for the next three weeks.

personally, would’ve gotten rid of welbeck instead. even if that meant downgrading someone else.
    but that’s just me.

all the best every one smile

+1. Pelle is a must-have, and so is Sanchez. If going for Costa then aim to upgrade Welbeck, but that’s difficult to finance and anyway it would be better to wait till after Welbeck’s played Burnley who are seriously struggling now. In contrast to Burnley, QPR are playing better than a month ago and I don’t see them folding tomorrow – chances are, Chelsea will score about 2 and Costa may get one of them or perhaps an assist. Then you have the likelihood of surgery on Costa taking him out for another few weeks, and will he hit the same form afterwards?

Is Collins back in the West Ham side for good now? Looked great against City and a great, cheap way onto the Hammers’ easy fixtures. Credit goes to SAF for pointing him out to me.

Here’s my team. It’s very different from you guys’ team, but I have great confidence in my players after scoring so well in my two gameweeks so far this season, 84 and 60 points in GW8 and 9. Not too shabby.

Hi everyone! This is my current team and I have 2FT with 0.2 in the bank. Any suggestions with what to do this week? I was thinking about getting Berahino for Welbeck, then Sterling to Sanchez and taking a 4pt hit swapping Moreno to Chambers. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

Still undecided about what I should do. 1ft, 3.6 in the bank.

Exact transfer, team and captain I expected lads.
Good team and should be a cracking tussle in the Banterbury cup v you.
    Look forward to it.
My team is still as posted on twitter immediately after the draw, didn’t want to appear taking advantage of you making your team public.
Good luck and may the best team win.

Not a fan of this team. You have wayyyyy to much money in your defence and Coleman and Baines just won’t work.

I love this team Gallow! Sooo different!

There’s a clear risk with no Aguero, but plenty don’t have him either. I say good luck to you sir with that defense!

I think Baines AND Coleman could score some big ol scores over the next several weeks. Maybe go a cheaper route into the Chelsea defense and upgrade one of your 3 beloved Toon players?

Fair play for going bold though! A nice change to seeing the sameish team on every RMT. smile

      • Gallowgate says:

Nice to see someone with an open mind Chins 😉
        Yes it’s different, deliberately so.
I hate the template and after a terrible start to the season ironically trying to be different in getting RVP and Kun I lost massive ground.
It’s slowly pulling round however and I’ve decent TV to invest in these ” defensive midfielders” as I like to class them as.
Fair play to the 2 lads above criticising this but if everyone has sameish teams it’s a bloody boring game.
It’s took a lot of hitting to get to this stage and now I’m
        Hoping it all pays off.
The double up on Everton nearly got changed tbh as I need funds to develop this squad further, selling Coleman to Chambers was my plan and may still be, I gain 2.3m in that event.
I plan to sell Ivan to Azpil after this week, Ivan isn’t doing what I expected and I can get similar points off Azpil at 1.2m less
3.5m if I downgrade means Siggy is gone to a big Mid
Had planned over last 4 weeks to get Sanchez but he’s gone bandwaggon so I will wait for Walcott.
I’ve no fear of no Aguero, I see Pelle and Costa doing the biz and will likely change Welbeck to Sakho or Betahino and go 3-5-2 likely getting Hazard and Walcott in.
It’s all about evolution for me, moving on and keeping it fresh.
Looking forward to my Banterbury cup tie with the 247 team which is doing remarkably well.
Well done on that lads, aim for the top!

I like it. I am a fan of doubling up, if the fixtures are there. Be hypocritical of me to say otherwise. I have been running with double Southampton the last two GW’s. Nice back to back clean sheets from them boys. I never see a high priced defender as an out an out defender. I see him as a midfielder in particular if a manager plays 4 in the back. Is Baines better than most mids in the 7.0 price range? I would say so, so don’t really see the problem with playing him over a fourth mid who might be pricier and produces less or at best equal points.

Solid team GG and good luck this week.

      • Gallowgate says:

Haha Mito?? Nice seeing you mate, this place isn’t the same without you smile
Me and you have similar thinking in this game, both gamblers, last season Benteke killed you, same this year happened to me getting RVP as a differential and it’s cost me.
Lesson learnt and I moved on.
Just saying to Chins there I see the likes of Baines as a good midfielder
Similar can be said of Ivan on his day and Coleman.
Big gamble on Toffees and tbh had I not been playing the site team I likely would have Chambers for a more nailed CS
Way I look at it it’s 247s Siggy v my Coleman
        Could go either way
They have Aguero v my Pelle
        Moore v my Ivan
And we both have a Saints def
As cookie says below it could all come down to how Aguero does
I’ve seen Utd tighten up considerably of late, this and the fact the Toon looked pretty tight v City other night gives me great hope.
