Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 19
All 10 fixtures in one day is the way we like it. With such a quick turnaround, there is no time to mope around and contemplate destroying your team because a Frenchman decided to stick his head somewhere other than between a woman’s legs. It was a high scoring game-week for many and the FF247 site team was not about to be left out in the cold. So let’s get around the grounds and see what our starting 11 produced. In goal we had trusty Joe Hart. His hands are the best around, we particularly like it when he goes out to punch a ball, sooooo secure in the air. :whatever:
Transitioning over to our defence we put the microscope on our SUPER HIGH priced jewel Leighton Baines. Frankly the only thing we can say about our relationship with him is that we are keeping him because we think he is a good luck charm. I know it sounds a bit crazy, but we still own him so any justification for said ownership would probably sound crazier. So yeah, he is our lucky rabbit’s foot. If you have been keeping up with our site articles you will know that we said that Toby Alderweireld would score a goal. We never specified when, but we feel this is a good time to remind you all that we said it. However don’t go kneeling before us, remember we still own Baines. Our last place in defence was taken up by Taylor or Naylor(for the hip crowd) from Swansea. He was able to garner a bonus point to go along with his clean sheet. In a week with very few clean sheets, this was a welcomed inclusion to our game-week.
Moving along to our midfield. Stewart Downing failed to deliver a goal or an assist for the first time since we have owned him. To be fair to him though he was facing the vaunted Chelsea side. So he is forgiven, in part because the rest of his midfield mates picked up the slack. The Viking Eriksen scored the winner for Spurs, but more importantly scored 8 points for our side. His 61 points when playing away are tops in FPL. Our new signing David Silva was under a lot of pressure to deliver. As our transfer out of Hazard for him looked to backfire after the Belgian was able to deliver an assist in the opening fixture. However the Spanish maestro quickly turned our frown around as he not only matched the assist, but added a goal and the 3 bonus to give him 8 more points on the game-week than our departee. The last of our current fantastic four in the midfield is the dirty one, Alexis Sanchez. Who by the way was our captain. Let us just say after some of the scoring we saw during the first 9 fixtures it was a scary site to see Alexis miss a penalty. However we knew…ahhh who the hell are we kidding, we were petrified. This meant a certain plummeting down the standings if he did not deliver. He soon shook off his 5 year old type shot on his penalty and was able to deliver a goal and an assist. After the negative and positive points he was able to hand us a double figure game and when multiplied it gave us 20. Another successful captaincy if we do say so ourselves.
Bony was able to double his output from the last time we fielded him. Unfortunately he only scored 1 point last time. So once again he disappointed us, but the same can’t be said of the Charlie “Milkman” Austin. The man just continues to deliver and his impressive 10 goals in his last 9 starts coupled with his price makes him a very popular figure in the FF247 offices. Speaking of popular I bring you Diego Costa and by popular I mean most owned in his case. He might not be a crowd favourite, but his first double figure game since week 4 will alleviate some of the stench that has been circulating around him and his production. On a side note the ever well behaved Costa managed to not get a yellow card this time, call it a belated Christmas miracle.
We scored 85 points for the week. We moved up 355 places and now sit in a global position of 643rd. This is our highest ranking of the season and hopefully we can continue to climb higher.
Transfer(s) for GW18 So to confirm our transfer we have – Sold Kyle Bartley for Pablo Zabaleta We know that the transfer could have some possible rotation in his team, but we could not pass up the chance to have Zabaleta feature against Burnley for us and with the rest he’s just had, hopefully against Sunderland also on New Year’s day. We think he is worth the transfer and hope he goes forward a lot more than our dear friend Baines has been lately.

Hope you all had a great game week 18. After a disappointing GW 17, I saw GW 18 give me 113 points. Thank heavens!
But it leaves me kinda vulnerable for GW 19. I’d like you’re suggestions on transfers to be made.
Was thinking of :
1) Kane – Austin and Siggy – Gaston Ramirez (4 pt hit)
2) Kane – Austin , Alderw – Zabaleta and Siggy- Cattermole (8 pt hit)
I’d really like to get Austin in my team but I doubt taking an 8 point hit is worth it.
I have 1 FT and 0.4 mil itb.
Open to any suggestions

If you want to buy him that badly, then Rooney -> Austin. You’ll just be taking away from his points by taking a -8 to bring him in. I’d love to have him in my team too but it’s not going to happen. Just have to hope he stays relatively quiet. Not likely 😉

That’s for us to know and you to decide. I will always play Chelsea defender. Clyne has scoring/assist potential. Wisdom, well Stoke. Don’t know. DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next time plan ahead that you have better defenders lined up. But what do I know, for all I know these are the only defenders/team to keep a CS and City might lose it in the first minute. :p

I still have him NIN, but only because there’s always been more important transfers to take care of. Now I’m at that point where I might actually end up keeping him anyways :/
Yeah mate, there are many mangers in the same position i’d say. If you can carry him for the next 3 then it could be a wise move to keep him. Saves a FT to get one of their defenders back in, which might just be essential after these next few games.
Yeah I already got rid of Baines this week, and next week I’m thinking Bony -> Carroll, and then suddenly Clyne only has United left among the top teams. At the beginning of Soton’s tough fixtures weeks ago I certainly didn’t expect him to still be in my team at this point.
Carroll? You got to be freaking kidding me. I still consider dude to a be a joke. Have you seen him yesterday? He was terrible. Bentekers over Carroll any day of the week.

Ive had such bad luck lately, my team had 9 injured or not available players a few weeks ago and i managed to crawl out of that pit, yesterday I had Giroud captain who i transferred in for costa! what was i thinking! lol.. i was thinking costa’s form at hit a wall,.. more like I hit a wall again… and im slipping down the mini leagues im currently champion in, I need some solid advice. What will i do here? All help welcome

Hey guys, should I bother making any changes to this team? Thinking about swapping Yaya to Silva to free up some cash for a defender. I will have enough cash for Clichy if I do that. Or would you recommend someone else?
Also, if I do make these 2 transfers I will be taking a 4 point hit so that’s why I’m looking for opinions on whether to make any changes or not. Thanks guys!
I would sell Lukaku and get benteke or u can do Yaya->Silva.. dont take a hit..
Yaya -> Silva is a transfer i would avoid. Sanchez -> Silva perhaps, or Azpilicuta -> Zabaleta, if you want extra City players.
