Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 19
All 10 fixtures in one day is the way we like it. With such a quick turnaround, there is no time to mope around and contemplate destroying your team because a Frenchman decided to stick his head somewhere other than between a woman’s legs. It was a high scoring game-week for many and the FF247 site team was not about to be left out in the cold. So let’s get around the grounds and see what our starting 11 produced. In goal we had trusty Joe Hart. His hands are the best around, we particularly like it when he goes out to punch a ball, sooooo secure in the air. :whatever:
Transitioning over to our defence we put the microscope on our SUPER HIGH priced jewel Leighton Baines. Frankly the only thing we can say about our relationship with him is that we are keeping him because we think he is a good luck charm. I know it sounds a bit crazy, but we still own him so any justification for said ownership would probably sound crazier. So yeah, he is our lucky rabbit’s foot. If you have been keeping up with our site articles you will know that we said that Toby Alderweireld would score a goal. We never specified when, but we feel this is a good time to remind you all that we said it. However don’t go kneeling before us, remember we still own Baines. Our last place in defence was taken up by Taylor or Naylor(for the hip crowd) from Swansea. He was able to garner a bonus point to go along with his clean sheet. In a week with very few clean sheets, this was a welcomed inclusion to our game-week.
Moving along to our midfield. Stewart Downing failed to deliver a goal or an assist for the first time since we have owned him. To be fair to him though he was facing the vaunted Chelsea side. So he is forgiven, in part because the rest of his midfield mates picked up the slack. The Viking Eriksen scored the winner for Spurs, but more importantly scored 8 points for our side. His 61 points when playing away are tops in FPL. Our new signing David Silva was under a lot of pressure to deliver. As our transfer out of Hazard for him looked to backfire after the Belgian was able to deliver an assist in the opening fixture. However the Spanish maestro quickly turned our frown around as he not only matched the assist, but added a goal and the 3 bonus to give him 8 more points on the game-week than our departee. The last of our current fantastic four in the midfield is the dirty one, Alexis Sanchez. Who by the way was our captain. Let us just say after some of the scoring we saw during the first 9 fixtures it was a scary site to see Alexis miss a penalty. However we knew…ahhh who the hell are we kidding, we were petrified. This meant a certain plummeting down the standings if he did not deliver. He soon shook off his 5 year old type shot on his penalty and was able to deliver a goal and an assist. After the negative and positive points he was able to hand us a double figure game and when multiplied it gave us 20. Another successful captaincy if we do say so ourselves.
Bony was able to double his output from the last time we fielded him. Unfortunately he only scored 1 point last time. So once again he disappointed us, but the same can’t be said of the Charlie “Milkman” Austin. The man just continues to deliver and his impressive 10 goals in his last 9 starts coupled with his price makes him a very popular figure in the FF247 offices. Speaking of popular I bring you Diego Costa and by popular I mean most owned in his case. He might not be a crowd favourite, but his first double figure game since week 4 will alleviate some of the stench that has been circulating around him and his production. On a side note the ever well behaved Costa managed to not get a yellow card this time, call it a belated Christmas miracle.
We scored 85 points for the week. We moved up 355 places and now sit in a global position of 643rd. This is our highest ranking of the season and hopefully we can continue to climb higher.
Transfer(s) for GW18 So to confirm our transfer we have – Sold Kyle Bartley for Pablo Zabaleta We know that the transfer could have some possible rotation in his team, but we could not pass up the chance to have Zabaleta feature against Burnley for us and with the rest he’s just had, hopefully against Sunderland also on New Year’s day. We think he is worth the transfer and hope he goes forward a lot more than our dear friend Baines has been lately.
Our team in full… Captain Our captain this week is Charlie Austin He has earned this opportunity with his home displays and considering he gave us a hat trick of happiness last time we captained him, we felt he was the man for the job again. Please no head-butts Charlie. Our Vice Captain this week is David Silva.
The team in text format is –
Hart
Zabaleta, Hutton, Baines
Sanchez, Silva, Eriksen, Downing
Austin (c), Costa, Bony
Bench: Krul. Taylor, Alderweireld, Boyd.

Hey y’all ..
Enjoyed a good Gwk.
With 12 pts hit aswell,
This how it happened.
HOW TO MAKE A 12 pts HIT WORK FOR YOU….!!
1. Costa 11pts out for Rooney 16pts
2. Bony 2pts > Austin 6ts
3. Siggy 11pts > Downing 2pts
4. Yun 0 > Zab 0
5. Clichey 2 > Terry 15pts
So transfers out lost me 26 + 12 pts hit = 38
Transfers in earned me ermmm?…..39 pts
SO A MASSIVE 1 pt GAIN..
Only problem,..I want COSTA back..!
If you want Costa back then you’ll have to drop Fabregas really…
+1
Yup, Fab>Boyd and Bojan>Costa. Not sure if that downgrade funds Costa though.
Why not wait until Yaya goes to AFCON, then downgrade him and bring in Costa?
Cheers guys..
Tekno I need to drop one of Hazard / Fab / Terry, to acomodate Costa..
Who should get the Bullet..?
Hey all, seems it was a great GW for most. I climbed to 6728
Anyway here is my current team:
Pantilimon (Heaton)
Hutton N.Taylor Baines (Bertrand Wisdom)
Siggy Hazard Sanchez Yaya V (King)
Austin C, Costa, Carroll
0.5m itb and 2FT
Im starting to feel Rooney might be some FPL gold… He was always a threat going forward against Newcastle. I really think Silva will outshine Yaya now as well (Yaya has AFCON soon anyway)…. and I am OVER Baines… with Jagielka injured their defense will be even worse… So my evil plan is to take a 4PH doing Carroll, Yaya and Baines out for Rooney, Silva and Janmaat/Jones/Evans (well have 5.6m for a defender. Reason Janmaat is he gets up, Newcastle have some decent fixtures coming up besides the Chelsea game and when Krul is back I think they will be very tight at the back). Jones/Evans since Utd should be sorting out there defensive issues out and I think Jones beats Evans in the pecking order. If I go Jones/Evans then when Krul is back he will come in for Pantilimon
So… worth it? And who to get?
Sorry for the edited repost
Couldnt read the longest post on this site, but looking at the team, I think Baines>Zab makes sense. Rest of the attack seems good enough. YYT>Silva could go sideways.
Would suggest Carrol>Benteke, but WH at home could pick 3 points.
B,
I poured my heart and soul into it haha.
Whats with the Benteke bandwagon suddenly I am seeing?
Would you rather have Janmaat/Evans/Jones as a defender in place of Baines? I am done with him.
Silva to Yaya is to fund Rooney as well and Yaya has AFCON soon
Next GW will be Siggy out for Downing to keep West Ham attack
About to pull the trigger on RVP>Bentekke and Mirallas>Silva for free.
Gives me an attack of:
Hazard – Sanchez – Silva – Siggy (Boyd)
Costa – Bentekke – Austin
Siggy>10M midfielder next GW.
Good to go? Any doubts?
B,
who do you have in mind for his replacement?
Cant you do RVP to Rooney) keeping UTD attack) and Mirallas to Silva.
Then look at Siggy to Downing maybe after?
Siggy’s replacement? Not really sure, had Sterling/Eriksen in mind.
I want to go Rooney too due to the improving form of the team, but his deep role is a bit of concern and he has to rely on counter attack to get points. Also Bentekke’s fixtures are hard to ignore. A very tough call between Rooney/Bentekke.
Fair point.
But he did push up a lot and we know when he starts scoring he doesnt stop. Im going to bring him in this GW, Rooney also does the FK’s etc for United.
Benteke hasnt sold me, hasnt done much actually… just my thoughts…
I know, not convincing at all with a 2 goal tally at the moment.
Exactly haha
Rooney over Benteke any day for me
Ended up on 77 points yesterday which wasn’t to bad. My team for tommorow is looking like this.
I ended on 77 too.
Team looking good, although too much faith in Chelsea defense over the coming fixtures is not advised. 😉
Hi all,
Baines and Bony out for Hutton and Rooney for a -4?
Anything else you would suggest? i.e. just Chambers to Hutton?
Thanks in advance
Wow. Do you notice that all of your defenders are playing away from home?
I did B, that’s why I’m trying to bring in one on a double home run.
Hello all. I hope you had a nice holiday and Boxing Day.
I have a draft league question. I need to help my defence for tomorrow. Better to take someone from Villa, Hull or QPR? Everyone but Clark is available.
Thanks for your help.
Not that confident about this question since all are good options. Not Hull though, definitely, with Chester out of the picture.
Maybe AV cause we might see a new Palace side against QPR with the sacking of manager.
Thanks B. I was leaning towards Hutton since he seemed the most nailed-on to start., unless I’m wrong about that. QPR are hard to trust, and as you say, Palace could come out with a different back line.
Yes, Hutton is nailed, but Clark comes with a goal threat But like you said, Clark is unavailable, so Hutton probably the best idea.
Hutton is a good option with his upcoming fixtures
Thanks MattX. I think I’ll go with him.
No problem bobfest happy to help.
