Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 34
Another small climb in the overall has put us a bit closer to being inside the top 2k. After climbing another 335 spots we now sit in 2216. A spot that we are very happy with, but we have dreams of a higher finish. So this is no time to unbutton our pants and play around. There is no room for complacency in the final stretch and with doubles on the horizon we hope we can take full advantage. But as always, before we tell you of our plans for the upcoming gameweek, let us quickly review our performance in GW33.
Finally Pulis, finally! Myhill in goal came through for us with a very solid 8 points. Our faith is now restored, well sort of, once you check the Baggies schedule over the last 5 games one might feel it is time to cut and run. Moving along to our back line we see that fan favourite John Terry was able to secure his second clean sheet in a row. What a great guy he is. In the rest of our defence we decided to play our double Saints defenders. We hoped that they work in unison and bagged us badly needed points. Well we can’t accuse them of not working in unison. They both scored 0 points after giving up 2 goals and both receiving yellow. Nice work boys!
In our 5 man midfield we had a bit of hit and miss. Hazard once again delivered a big haul and bagged us 11 points. Owning and playing him is just common sense and to show that is something we won’t put up with, we also played Jason Puncheon. We thought he would at least deliver a number 2, but I guess he has better control now and simply took the piss. Our new signing Cesc brought the pain and by pain, I mean to us. Nothing of note from him with a very average 3 points. Yet that was still better than Silva who was unable to score a cheeky total and instead was handed a yellow and a trip to the doctor. In our last spot, we had Eriksen. After showing the Viking a lot of patience over the last couple of weeks, he came through with a goal and 2 bonus points for a nice score of 9.
Up top we only fielded 2 strikers as we had to make room for the Jason Puncheon show as previously mentioned. Perhaps it was because Austin had a blank, but why ruin a good story. We went with English saviour Harry Kane and of course our mighty mouse Kun Aguero. Ol’ Arry was able to grab a goal and continues to build up the hopes of English fans who will undoubtedly be left in state of shock when England play like their cricket team in Euro 2016. Our “El Capitan” Aguero was able to do a little something and scored 12 points when doubled. Perhaps not the amount we hoped for, but better than Jason Puncheon.
Transfer(s) for GW34 – Sold Alderweireld, Silva and Eriken and bought Moreno, Henderson and Sterling
As suggested last week we have gone full on Scouse for the DGW and have taken a hit to do so. It was an “interesting” meeting as we thought it may be. Selling Silva is clearly the most controversial move, but was necessary to facilitate our future plans post DGW into getting the Arsenal players we have targeted. This also meant we had to get Henderson instead of the more preferred Coutinho, but c’est la vie, Hendo has done ok this season for someone who can’t run. Sterling was a no-brainer for us as we figure he should get forward plenty in the DGW and also vs QPR in GW35. Moreno comes in as Liverpool have looked solid at the back versus the “lesser” teams – in the league that is, not the FA Cup.
Our team in full…
Once more our team has basically picked itself! The question was asked as to whether we should play Myhill as Liverpool haven’t been in great form, but having brought Sterling & Henderson in this week we’re hoping that they’ll knock a few past Myhill. They’d bloody better! So Ospina it is. We also considered benching Clyne, but given Southampton’s defensive form at home we decided against it. The only other question was Puncheon or Kane. Even though Spurs travel to Southampton we’ve gone with Kane as we’ve learned over the course of the season, never bench Kane. So we’ll have our fingers crossed for either a Saints clean sheet or a Kane goal.
Captain
Our captain this week is Eden Hazard
Little explanation needed really. There were the odd votes for Sterling but we’ve gone ‘safe’ as Chelsea look to close out the inevitable title and if they do so you can bet Hazard will be involved.
Our vice-captain is Raheem Sterling
The team in text format is –
Ospina
Terry Clyne Moreno
Henderson Hazard (c) Sterling (v) Fabregas
Austin Kane Aguero
Subs: Myhill Puncheon van Aanholt Baird

And don’t forget to vote in our Captains Poll for GW34 [polldaddy poll=8519167]
Great team and like your ins and outs!
Best of luck!
Evening all,
If money wasn’t a consideration which 3 Arsensl players would you want from GW35 until the end of the season?
Sanchez. Ozil and Giroud. Though Ramsey has been playing further forward recently so worth keeping an eye on that.
Hi Kop,
Sanchez, Ramsey and Giroud for me mate.
Thanks lads, I’ve been wondering if I should include Ospina on my WC! I’m glad to see you’ve both gone for 3 attackers ????
Kop- I’m planning on including Koscielny in my WC then bringing Giroud in straight after Gw34 then bringing Sanchez in for GW37
Cheers Smithy
Kop
They just have so much in attack that it seems a bit of waste looking elsewhere particularly with DGW in there.
That’s my current thinking GP. If they scored well over the double I may regret not going with 3 attackers! Even if they keep 2 clean sheets would I regret not having a defender? Probably not.
Arsenal has such good fixtures I can see them getting a bunch of clean sheets
…. And Ospina is cheap as chips
I am tempted to go for him.
By the way did you post your WC team Kop?
Just got home and it’d save me trawling through the comments
This is what I’ve got at the moment Horse. I’ll proba get Toby and Skrtel could become Moreno.
Looks nice Kop.
I like the Davis/Schmeichel rotation.
You planning on going 352 and benching Giroud this GW?
Indeed I am Horse. All I need to do now is sort out my last two defenders
You not happy with PVA? He is cheap and has a DGW in 37
Yeah, he’ll probably be one of them ????
Alexis, Ramsey and Giroud for me Kop.
Cheers DMC. That’s the three I’ve currently got in mind.
Hi Kop if money’s no object mine would be Giroud, Alexis and Cazorla. One of the games is Man Utd so I’d probably expect them to concede in that hence not bothering with the defence.
Oooooops, sorry, just reading the comments below and realised the question was ‘for the remainder’ not just DGW37. In that case then I’d ditch Caz and grab a defender.
I’m thinking Moreno and possibly Coutinho in for a -8. Can’t decide which defender to get rid of though? Very unsure on Coutinho though
Smash, I’m not sure how much Bellerin will play for the rest of the season.
Thanks that’s true. Lots of rotation in that position I think. Though really like him as a player.
I rate him as well, but with Debuchy back…
Would you say Monreal is a risk as well?
Probably!
Evening all! Cheers Kop for the Tips! Good read mate! FF247 team looking strong too!
Arsenal players for me Kop would be Sanchez, Giroud and Kos, if poss!
Evening Bash, cheers mate.
So you’d include a defender? Hmmm
I would mate. Risking balance!
I would consider a defender too given that 3 of their GW 35 – 38 are at home where they have an impressive recent record with 4 CS out of 6 games and only 2 conceded. But DGW37 wise I would go attackers given that one of those is at old trafford, the theater of dreams … for visiting forwards!
I will surely add Ramsey if fit but will probably not have the funds for Giroud.
Good evening managers
Hi smithy
Getting closer . . . .
Sure is haha
Rate my WC team please,
I’ve got money in the bank to bring Giroud straight in for Vardy.
Any thoughts?
smithy
Looks good to me Smithy
Cheers guys, keepers aren’t great but can’t come up with anything much better. Would you even bother thinking about Remy? Or not worth the risk?
I wouldn’t risk him Smithy, can’t see him starting both games.
Looking promising! I sense a few headache selections from here on!
