Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 6
GW5 was a bit mixed for us to say the least! Your captain often makes or breaks a game-week for you. For whatever reason, we can’t remember why, we went for Diego Costa and he duly delivered a grand total of 2 points! Evidently we weren’t alone in that respect so all was not lost. Stand out performances, from an FPL point of view, from Angel Di Maria, Raheem Sterling and Danny Welbeck meant that we finished on a respectable, if somewhat uninspiring, 46 points. Our defence was awful with just five points between the sorry lot. ‘I am’ Vito Mannone got double that on his own. We’ve got Mannone. Guess where he was? Yep! We finished the week with an overall rank of 43,265. It’s not ground breaking by any means but at this stage we are happy enough and with over 3.7m players it still leaves us in the top 1.5% of players.

Transfer for GW6
If you’d said pre-season we would be having an office brawl come GW6 over whether to bring in Michael Duff or Alan Hutton, in order to bench one of them for the foreseeable future, we’d have said you were mad. Well, we’ve just had an office brawl over whether to bring in Michael Duff or Alan Hutton in order to bench one of them for the foreseeable future!
Truth is we all looked at our team and we were all very content with it. As one should be having only just used the wildcard two weeks ago. We were that happy with it last week that we didn’t make a transfer and as a result we had 2 FT’s this week. Mindful that we would lose one if we didn’t do anything we started to plan ahead and looked at who we may be likely to transfer in soon given the fixture list. Looking at Evertons fixtures we decided that after GW7 Leighton Baines may be our aspiration. To be fair, some disagreed so we give you prior notice now that come GW8 there may be some casualties and mayhem again! In order to perhaps, (maybe, maybe not, let’s see) facilitate the Baines move we needed funds. In that respect we decided that Moreno of Liverpool was perhaps surplus to requirements and so he was the fall guy this week. We acquired him on the back of a terrific performance at Spurs but it has become quite evident that Liverpool are still as porous as last season and are lacking that edge so far going forward.
Moreno has gone then, to be replaced with Alan Hutton. Not the most inspirational or innovative of transfers we grant you, but hear us out on this one! We are all about planning ahead. We like our starting 11 as it is. We have sufficient back up to rotate for the next few weeks. Hutton is effectively our ‘sleeper’. He will be deployed on our bench for the next few weeks until Villa enter a more favourable phase, fixture wise. We have basically done a transfer that will benefit us in a few weeks time given a lack of any other issues to deal with now and with a view to raising funds for the ‘Baines Battle’.
Having done that transfer we have banked a cool £1m on a player we wouldn’t have played anyway and we have replaced him with one that we will be glad to have in a few weeks time (we think/hope!) There are still some tough decisions to be made in the weeks ahead if we are to get Baines but make them we will!. Either way. We now have £1.3m in our ‘Baines Bank’!

Captain
We have chosen to give the armband to Costa. Again. Last week against City it was a bit of a risk and it didn’t pay off but this week we feel that whilst it’s the obvious choice, sometimes you just need to go with the obvious. Villa at home, for the hottest property in English football, seems too good to ignore. Sure enough Villa have been getting results but they shipped three last week to Ozil and Welbeck. Chelsea have looked great so far and Costa has been sensational. Should something befall Costa we have chosen Aguero as our vice-captain. Away at Hull he should produce the goods and as a member of our team we hope he does but just not as much as Costa!
Gameweek 5 Team (in text form – as promised!)
Keeper: Mannone
Defenders: Alderweireld – Taylor – Wilson
Midfielders: Di María – Fábregas – Sigurdsson – Sterling
Strikers: Welbeck – Costa (c) – Agüero (vc)
Bench: Krul – King – Hutton – Moore

Morning all, i have Costa, Pelle + Ulloa up top, i can do 3 things :-
1- Leave the 3 alone.
2- Ulloa to Welbeck.
3- Pelle to Falcao.
Which option should i do ?
Another decision to make, play Moreno or Taylor(swansea) ?
Taylor for sure!
Hi elle
I wouldn’t be embarrassed going with what you have. All three have very kind fixtures at least this week which gives you more thinking time.
And I’ve benched Moreno for Duff so can’t advise you against bringing Taylor in.
Leave the 3 alone.
I’m playing Taylor over Moreno myself
Ulloa to Welbeck is a good option, but Ulloa seems to be on fire so you might aswell just leave him alone with the other 2.
The three are fine.. and have better fixtures imo.
Leave the three alone Elle and bench Moreno.
Morning. Anyone not captained Costa? I haven’t!
Init
For half an hour yesterday I had the armband on Kun. Back on Costa.
Haha! I had it on Kun for about a couple hours yesterday myself, and guess what happened. Back on Costa late last night.
I have.
Costa here
Who u captaining Init?
Falcao :oogle:
Init not decided on Cap feel like taking a risk so many will have Costa but might chicken out pardon the pun
Bwakahahaha
Morning matey,
You banged your head again? 😉
You gone ADM or a new acquisition?
Just fancy a differential mate. If Costa goes bang then fine, it’s not like I haven’t got him. If Falcao goes bang then well, you’ll never hear the end of it!
Hey Init your putting a lot of faith in Falcao who hasnt scored yet brave man
I am indeed. Good luck everyone, I’m off to footy!
I’m with you on Falcao mate. My plan is evolving to get him in! United may well be worth a double investment up top. Going to see how they get on todsy
Me neither, though maybe I would if he was in my team I’ve got 2 Chelsea players (Ivan and Cesc) which is as much “exposure” as I want against Villa who are still a decent side despite last week’s debacle. I’ve decided on Pelle for this GW, though Gerrard is also tempting.
I’ve also decided to leave Sterling on my bench, as I reckon his gametime will be limited after playing 120min midweek.
All set i hope. RMT please!!
Also…With debuchy and monreal both out injured, am i right that chambers will fill in at RB?
thanks all hope everyone has a good one!
He will indeed.
good stuff, thanks Kop
Hey Haz looks good to go I can see WBA scoring this wknd so might have picked Taylor I also feel if Costa dosnt perform we are all in trouble good luck for today
yeah, fair points silver. duff or taylor is my main debate at the moment, not sure which way to go!! burleys 3 cs already gets me favouring towards duff, but not fully decided yet! how you going silver?
Hazard
You are leaving some talent on your bench but when I look at your team I can’t criticise. Strong squad you have there.
Although I definitely would play Mannone ahead of Krul.
yeah thanks GP, would of liked welbeck in there and if he bags a few ill be really annoyed!! with city, chelsea, united all having good fixtures, can’t see him getting more points than them!
why mannone ahead of krul? surely krul has a better chance of a cs than mannone-swansea are bound to score no?
Hazard, Mannone and Welbeck ahead of Krul and Siggy for me. Don’t trust Newcastle to keep a CS at Stoke and I expect a few goals from the NLD with Welbeck probably being involved. But I hope you’re right as I have Siggy and not Welbeck!
Looks good hazard. You could regret leaving Welbeck on the bench but I’m not sure who you could play him instead of!
thanks kop, decided to go for a jam-packed midfield and rotate one ulloa/welbeck/siggy each week. as long as aguero doesn’t kick off, or falcon (more than arm), should hopefully be set for a couple of weeks! how you going? any last minute debating?
For a WC team.. would you take Clyne or Bertrand for 0.2 cheaper?
Clyne
Clyne for sure.
Milky
Clyne I think.
Also, is Siggy a must have still?
I would say so. You get great quality for the money.
Not a must, but still the best in his price range I think.
Dyer seems a viable alternative.
All of his goals have come from Siggy assists right?
If Dyer does well Siggy can’t be far behind.
Clyne.
Thanks for the help people :))
Anytime mate
Milky,
Bertrand for me. Less ownership, cheaper and see’s more of the ball in the final third than Clyne.
Usual Saturday morning question, Di Maria, Costa or Falcao for captain?
On Di Maria at minute.
Hey Shadow brave man but could pay off still havent pressed the button yet
I couldn’t possibly advice you to cap anyone other than Costa. Unless you feel like being a hero.
I am feeling rather brave, but come 11.28 that feeling may well have gone!
Shadow, Costa for me even if I had the other two which I don’t!
