Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 6
GW5 was a bit mixed for us to say the least! Your captain often makes or breaks a game-week for you. For whatever reason, we can’t remember why, we went for Diego Costa and he duly delivered a grand total of 2 points! Evidently we weren’t alone in that respect so all was not lost. Stand out performances, from an FPL point of view, from Angel Di Maria, Raheem Sterling and Danny Welbeck meant that we finished on a respectable, if somewhat uninspiring, 46 points. Our defence was awful with just five points between the sorry lot. ‘I am’ Vito Mannone got double that on his own. We’ve got Mannone. Guess where he was? Yep! We finished the week with an overall rank of 43,265. It’s not ground breaking by any means but at this stage we are happy enough and with over 3.7m players it still leaves us in the top 1.5% of players.
Last week…

Transfer for GW6
If you’d said pre-season we would be having an office brawl come GW6 over whether to bring in Michael Duff or Alan Hutton, in order to bench one of them for the foreseeable future, we’d have said you were mad. Well, we’ve just had an office brawl over whether to bring in Michael Duff or Alan Hutton in order to bench one of them for the foreseeable future!
Truth is we all looked at our team and we were all very content with it. As one should be having only just used the wildcard two weeks ago. We were that happy with it last week that we didn’t make a transfer and as a result we had 2 FT’s this week. Mindful that we would lose one if we didn’t do anything we started to plan ahead and looked at who we may be likely to transfer in soon given the fixture list. Looking at Evertons fixtures we decided that after GW7 Leighton Baines may be our aspiration. To be fair, some disagreed so we give you prior notice now that come GW8 there may be some casualties and mayhem again! In order to perhaps, (maybe, maybe not, let’s see) facilitate the Baines move we needed funds. In that respect we decided that Moreno of Liverpool was perhaps surplus to requirements and so he was the fall guy this week. We acquired him on the back of a terrific performance at Spurs but it has become quite evident that Liverpool are still as porous as last season and are lacking that edge so far going forward.
Moreno has gone then, to be replaced with Alan Hutton. Not the most inspirational or innovative of transfers we grant you, but hear us out on this one! We are all about planning ahead. We like our starting 11 as it is. We have sufficient back up to rotate for the next few weeks. Hutton is effectively our ‘sleeper’. He will be deployed on our bench for the next few weeks until Villa enter a more favourable phase, fixture wise. We have basically done a transfer that will benefit us in a few weeks time given a lack of any other issues to deal with now and with a view to raising funds for the ‘Baines Battle’.
Having done that transfer we have banked a cool £1m on a player we wouldn’t have played anyway and we have replaced him with one that we will be glad to have in a few weeks time (we think/hope!) There are still some tough decisions to be made in the weeks ahead if we are to get Baines but make them we will!. Either way. We now have £1.3m in our ‘Baines Bank’!

Captain
We have chosen to give the armband to Costa. Again. Last week against City it was a bit of a risk and it didn’t pay off but this week we feel that whilst it’s the obvious choice, sometimes you just need to go with the obvious. Villa at home, for the hottest property in English football, seems too good to ignore. Sure enough Villa have been getting results but they shipped three last week to Ozil and Welbeck. Chelsea have looked great so far and Costa has been sensational. Should something befall Costa we have chosen Aguero as our vice-captain. Away at Hull he should produce the goods and as a member of our team we hope he does but just not as much as Costa!
Gameweek 5 Team (in text form – as promised!)
Keeper: Mannone
Defenders: Alderweireld – Taylor – Wilson
Midfielders: Di María – Fábregas – Sigurdsson – Sterling
Strikers: Welbeck – Costa (c) – Agüero (vc)
Bench: Krul – King – Hutton – Moore

We’re getting close to the lock-down. Anyone else feeling the pressure?
Hi Ruben the only pressure this wknd is Im playing my partner in Crime in the H2H league good bit of banter between us this wk
Oooh! Good luck mate. I’m just feeling the general pressure of making the right decisions, hahaha.
Not really.. everyone will cap the same guy. Usually the captain is the pressure choice.
Morning all!!!
Could you cast your eyes over my team and let me know your thoughts??
maybe siggy on for ramsey (who looks overplayed + tired)
attack looks strong, have a good gw!
I second that! Ramsey is the only one I’d bench for Siggy. Thay being said, it is kind of sad to see 9.0m just sit on the bench.
Hazard – he looked poor last week, I’m hoping the weeks rest has done him good!! But not a bad shout.
It’s great. I’d play Siggy but can’t decide who to bench from them as they’re all good options this week.
Looks good Mitro. Obviously Siggy could burn you this weekend, but I’m sure you know that 😉
Probably following my heart on rambo!! But you could be right!!
Captain ok?? Gut feeling is Aguero but due to my captain blanks over the past 3 weeks I’m hoping Costa is a banker!!
Mitro – I’d probably go as you are going, my only doubt would be who to pick between Siggy and Ulloa. Ramsey ahead of Siggy for me.
Start Welbeck or Dyer?
Also, Shawcross or Duff?
Welbeck and Duff!
Welbeck and Shawcross for me. Tricky decision between Shawcross and Duff though.
Yeah.. Welbz I’m more or less decided on. Spurs look pretty bad at the back from what I’ve seen.. (though they haven’t conceded much).
Stoke are just frustrating. I’m thinking of Duff again.. but i think the MNF is swaying me.
personally iv left welbeck on the bench in place of siggy, but danny could be fired up for the big game.
tough call, could go either way, id say shawcross as newcastle have lots of injuries – cisse, gouffran de jong and janmaat.
Welbeck and Shawcross for me.
Stoke better keep a clean sheet this week!
Thank you all!
Morning all. All set guys? Well, I’m not!
So Balo’s price dropped last night and Aguero is out of reach for me unless for a hit… now, should I keep Balo and save FT or ditch him for Pelle? I have no other Liverpool cover and only Clyne from Southampton.
If I go on with the move I could do Rodwell to Sterling or even Di Maria next week.
Any thoughts?
I’d move on to Pelle this week.
And get Sterling/Di Maria next week (or even this week if they have another haul).
Cheers Sharmaisms, that’s my concern but I’m planning to use my WC in two weeks, maybe a hit at this point is not the best option.
Depends on how much they can rise.. Sterling seems to be reaching a saturation point with his high ownership.
ADM still has some way to go.
But since you’ll be WCing in 2 weeks anyway, lay off the hits for now.
Ok thanks mate, that’s what I thought.
I’ll go for Pelle this week and next week I’ll have another FT and enough ITB to upgrade Rodwell.
Just a fun question – What team does everyone here support?
LFC till I die.
Your not a scouser are you The Mighty Whites although most say Im a closet Pool fan
I’m a norwegian guy living in Norway. I’ve just grown up supporting LFC.
Rubik, my team is my name, elleffcee, off the game catch you all later.
norwich
YNWA! 😉
Porto!
But from the PL, Chelsea.
Hi all. Will Zaha start today?
Morning D.
I think he’ll be on the bench
cheers B. now my dilemma is who to put in in his place. naismith, moore or hutton.
Naismith for me mate. I’d always go with forward option first. He is likely to start
cheers mate, that was my thinking. confirmed!
Probably not.. can’t be sure though.
