Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 6
GW5 was a bit mixed for us to say the least! Your captain often makes or breaks a game-week for you. For whatever reason, we can’t remember why, we went for Diego Costa and he duly delivered a grand total of 2 points! Evidently we weren’t alone in that respect so all was not lost. Stand out performances, from an FPL point of view, from Angel Di Maria, Raheem Sterling and Danny Welbeck meant that we finished on a respectable, if somewhat uninspiring, 46 points. Our defence was awful with just five points between the sorry lot. ‘I am’ Vito Mannone got double that on his own. We’ve got Mannone. Guess where he was? Yep! We finished the week with an overall rank of 43,265. It’s not ground breaking by any means but at this stage we are happy enough and with over 3.7m players it still leaves us in the top 1.5% of players.

Transfer for GW6
If you’d said pre-season we would be having an office brawl come GW6 over whether to bring in Michael Duff or Alan Hutton, in order to bench one of them for the foreseeable future, we’d have said you were mad. Well, we’ve just had an office brawl over whether to bring in Michael Duff or Alan Hutton in order to bench one of them for the foreseeable future!
Truth is we all looked at our team and we were all very content with it. As one should be having only just used the wildcard two weeks ago. We were that happy with it last week that we didn’t make a transfer and as a result we had 2 FT’s this week. Mindful that we would lose one if we didn’t do anything we started to plan ahead and looked at who we may be likely to transfer in soon given the fixture list. Looking at Evertons fixtures we decided that after GW7 Leighton Baines may be our aspiration. To be fair, some disagreed so we give you prior notice now that come GW8 there may be some casualties and mayhem again! In order to perhaps, (maybe, maybe not, let’s see) facilitate the Baines move we needed funds. In that respect we decided that Moreno of Liverpool was perhaps surplus to requirements and so he was the fall guy this week. We acquired him on the back of a terrific performance at Spurs but it has become quite evident that Liverpool are still as porous as last season and are lacking that edge so far going forward.
Moreno has gone then, to be replaced with Alan Hutton. Not the most inspirational or innovative of transfers we grant you, but hear us out on this one! We are all about planning ahead. We like our starting 11 as it is. We have sufficient back up to rotate for the next few weeks. Hutton is effectively our ‘sleeper’. He will be deployed on our bench for the next few weeks until Villa enter a more favourable phase, fixture wise. We have basically done a transfer that will benefit us in a few weeks time given a lack of any other issues to deal with now and with a view to raising funds for the ‘Baines Battle’.
Having done that transfer we have banked a cool £1m on a player we wouldn’t have played anyway and we have replaced him with one that we will be glad to have in a few weeks time (we think/hope!) There are still some tough decisions to be made in the weeks ahead if we are to get Baines but make them we will!. Either way. We now have £1.3m in our ‘Baines Bank’!

Captain
We have chosen to give the armband to Costa. Again. Last week against City it was a bit of a risk and it didn’t pay off but this week we feel that whilst it’s the obvious choice, sometimes you just need to go with the obvious. Villa at home, for the hottest property in English football, seems too good to ignore. Sure enough Villa have been getting results but they shipped three last week to Ozil and Welbeck. Chelsea have looked great so far and Costa has been sensational. Should something befall Costa we have chosen Aguero as our vice-captain. Away at Hull he should produce the goods and as a member of our team we hope he does but just not as much as Costa!
Gameweek 5 Team (in text form – as promised!)
Keeper: Mannone
Defenders: Alderweireld – Taylor – Wilson
Midfielders: Di María – Fábregas – Sigurdsson – Sterling
Strikers: Welbeck – Costa (c) – Agüero (vc)
Bench: Krul – King – Hutton – Moore

Morning all! Not feeling very happy with my team at the mo, any ideas? I have no free transfers and 0.1 in the bank. Thanks!
too much united for me… mata has to go..off the top of my head for silva?….now rooney is playing deeper you might want to offload him too.
for gw6, i may even get wisdom off the bench for chambers.
Oh god, I know this dilemma has been “solved” many times already. But the opinions have been so divided.
What do I do?
Double up on Burnley by playing Duff and Heaton
or
Play Wisdom in order to cover both Burnley and WBA.
I’m just gonna go with Wisdom so I have it all covered.
Another dilemma, Begovic or Mannone?
Both got home games, got hit last week by leaving Mannone on bench but I’ve gone for Begovic at the minute. Wise move?
Very wise indeed! Begovic is more likely to keep a CS against Newcastle than Mannone is against Swansea.
Begovic for me mate
Hey guys. Gradually changing my team week by week, still got my wildcard. How’s my team looking this week? Mannone (Krul)
Duff, Koscielny, Pieters (Janmaat, Hutton)
Fab, Siggy, Ozil, Di Maria (King)
Aguero, Costa, Naismith
Hoping Ozil will play behind Welbeck again this week, stuck on who to captain
Would appreciate anyones thoughts, thanks
Hi Elech team looks good safe bet Costa if your a betting man Aguero
Looking good! Captain Costa. Safe choice.
Cheers guys, bet on Aguero last week but didn’t work out!! Suppose Costa didn’t either for everyone else
went for welbeck last week :blue-flag:
but costa for me this week!! safest bet against a weak villa!
Lucky you haha…i got rid of Welbeck last week!! Yeah Costa it is, cheers
Pick 3 to play from:
Clyne(qpr H) Duff(wba A) Wisdom(bur H) Taylor(sun A)
currently have Taylor benched.
ps. Thanks Calvin, Dreamers and NiN for the comments last night I was workin late so didnt get back on.
I have the exact same defenders. I have Duff benched at the moment, only because I already have Burnley coverage with Heaton in goal.
mannone or krul. +reasons please. thanks
tough one Haz Ive got same problem but Ive gone with Mannone seems to be playing well & even if he dosnt keep a clean sht he will pick up points for saves
cool thanks silver!
