Fantasy Football (has been suspended!) Update
Unless you’ve been living under a rock (perhaps advisable right now) you will be aware that the Premier League have suspended all fixtures until (at least) April 4th. In essence this means that we will miss GW’s 30 & 31 and resume in GW32. Whether the 32 target actually happens is a different matter but for now that is what we are being told to work towards. We just wanted to make you aware of a few key things…
FPL have released the following on Twitter;
What does the #PL postponement mean for #FPL 👇
⬛ All GW30 and GW31 fixtures are postponed and the intention is for the PL to return for GW32 on 4 April, subject to medical advice

To pick the bones out of that, essentially what it all means is;
- GW’s 30 & 31 will still happen, albeit in a ghost fashion.
- You’ll get zero points awarded (unless you somehow still take a hit!).
- Any moves you make (be that transfers, hits, chips) will still count and be there whenever (if) we resume.
- They’ve waffled on about the FPL Cup and how it all affects H2H leagues but who really cares!
We appreciate that the above is short ‘n sweet but that is all you need to know in a nutshell. We shall update this accordingly as and when we know more.
Please feel free to continue to chat amongst yourselves as usual and add any relevant info in the comments if you see / hear anything pertinent to the above.
***NEW ARTICLE – FPL SUSPENDED etc**
What you need to know so far, in a nutshell.
I really don’t mind if they end the season now so I can win my mini-leagues haha
Love a new article!
Cherish it, it’ll be the last one for a while!
I love the bits you said about the things.
Any thoughts on doing a grab, avoid, bore off style article? Or maybe an article on FPLstatistics over the past few seasons? There could be some interesting trends for future reference
Grab hand wash, avoid the virus, bore off Twitter. You do the stats one.
We’ll probably do something but in all honesty I’m actually glad of the break for a bit. Ironically it’s usually about GW30 that it all starts catching up with you. It’s mentally exhausting after a while!
Effectively folks, if you have any free transfers use them, if you have 2 or 1 :good: use them and you can then save your transfer in 31 and should then game resume in 32 you will have 2 FTs.
I don’t like making early transfers,
Smart lass!! :hippo:
I would help if we new which GW we are aiming for. GW32 seems optimistic to me, but I guess we should assume that until we here otherwise.
Just look at who has the best/ most fixtures left
Rosco,
A question. Will the FL website roll on through gws 30 and 31 to permit us extra FTs? Is it possible we may deprive ourselves of FTs if these gws get rolled to the back of the season? Confusing.
They’ve said 30 & 31 will crack on as blanks. Any extra / remaining games will have to be tagged to 38.
Or slotted into the usual 34 and 37 doubles, or if Uefa allow it across other midweeks
I’m not sure I understand your question but in essence; the fixtures and GWs will not be rolled back. The season will not resume any sooner thanGW32 so as it is 30 and 31 are blank GWs. If you have 2 Fts use one now and I’ll you’ll have two in BGW31, use another and providing the league starts in 32 you will still have 2. If you have one FT either use it, or roll it. You will then have 2 in BGW31 allowing you to use either 1 (and enter 32 with 2FT) or 2 and enter 32 with the usual 1
I should elaborate and say a Gameweek can not be rolled. The fixtures that have been canceled on 31 and 32 will just be added to a pile of fixtures needed to be placed into other GWs. GW34 and 37 are the most likely should the cup and European completions be retained, but if they change the rules or end those completions then fixtures could be added in other GWs. As Init says though, if there was a back log of fixtures that surpassed the season as it stands, those fixtures would be added after GW38 but as such would fall under the GW38 Umbrella. It’s not inconceivable to see a GW38 with 90+ fixtures.
All the above cones with the caveat that FPL sticks to their current rules as they seem to be doing with regard to 31 and 32
Rosco,
A belated Friday night thanks for the detailed, precise information. This really sorts the issues.
I bet someone will still take a hit
Many will have already meaning us sensible folk will get a little green arrow tomorrow!!
I’m genuinely interested in seeing how many points Terminator scores this week.
We’re not allowed to joke about Terminators :buba:
Bollox man, get stuck in.
Do you think we can persuade enough people to buy the same (non)player with their FT to get a TV increase?
Like crowd funding! Let’s do it!!
I bet you couldn’t agree on the player even if you agreed to do it! :laugh2:
Just for fun to lighten the mood. If all remaining fixtures occurred in one GW (e.g. all in GW38). What could be possible? Could we have the first 1000pt GW from someone?
That would be good, you would have to bench boost. Wonder how long the gameweek would be?
Yup sounds awesome! As the fixtures would continue as normal we would then all use the WC in GW37 and then do as Carolyn days and hit BB in 38! Winning!!
If that was the case you could make 11 changes (-40 points) and still get a green arrow
You’d still only get 11 or 15 players to attack it with and at the moment it’s only 14 extra games. Which is essentially a treble for 8 teams. So 257.7 ish would be average if you covered all trebles with all 15 players. Assuming a weekly average of 63 with 11. Add about 85 per extra GW of 10 that is cancelled.
Well that brought me back down to earth :good:
He’s good at that :hippo:
200pts would be a milestone… That’s actually twice as much as 100pts… So that’s a lot! :drinks: Us people aren’t just that good at comprehending mathematics and all that… We’re not computerized machines…
Don’t know what that even meant… :hippo:
I actually was thinking if teams had there remaining 9-10 games all shunted to the summer. With 9 to 10 x15 players it could get quite big! But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that and we get started much before then.
