So, what exactly is this all about? Well, in essence, you should know by now, quite frankly!
With a DGW looming we have looked to a few of our older hands to tell us what their plans are, which is especially helpful given that they all have different Chips left to use and so therefore different stategies to consider.

GW32 Review
The good:
My captain returned! Good old Harry Kane. This season, it’s always been a gamble to take the armband anywhere away from Salah, however his fixture compared to the Englishman’s made it as close to a no brainer as you can get. Elsewhere, Raphinha rewarded the faith put in him with a 10-point return and new boy Maddison got in an assist to help justify his purchase.
The bad:
Well, Dubravka getting a clean sheet and seven points on the Friday night meant you just knew that Ramsdale wouldn’t manage the same at home to Brighton. Sure enough, the decision to pick the ex-Sheffield United shot stopper saw me missing out on an extra six points. Then there were the blanks from the yellow-carded Saka and non-starter James too – picking Davies over the latter would have got an additional five points. Not that I realistically would have made that call before the deadline.
The ugly:
There are two ugly candidates for my team. One is someone I don’t have, Son, while the other is, unfortunately, a player I do – flippin’ Weghorst. It’s fair to say I’m doing something about the Burnley player before he can give me any more false hope.
GW33 Preview
Transfer plans
Getting Weghorst out! Thanks to Newcastle’s double gameweek, Wood is very tempting – even if his one recent goal in the league is from the penalty spot. Mind you, he only needs to play more than 60 minutes and he’ll get me more points than his predecessor.
Transfer summary:
A pretty poor show this season, it’s fair to say. Building up to have 15 DGW players in GW36 to try and play for some degree of pride.
Captain for GW33:
It’s on Maddison at the moment, but I imagine I’ll wimp out and follow the herd to captaining Kane.

GW32 / Season Review
There is no doubt that this season has been a tricky one. Even with good planning and good decision making, events have blown up in our faces. Like many, I will be pleased to see the back of it.
All the same, it has been a good one for me. I made a strong start and have somehow managed to stay in the top 100k all season bar one game week. I would like to finish the season well, not least because I am in contention in a number of minileagues such as our Regulars League.
The tried and tested formula of picking nailed on players with strong fixtures, planning ahead and going easy on the hits (just the 4 this season) has paid off. As has reading the excellent articles on FF247 and picking the brains of the many outstanding FPL mangers on this site.
With Covid and unprecedented number of postponements this season, the timing of rearranged fixtures has been of incredible importance. It is worth while studying the FF247 fixture ticker. Fixture guru @BenCrellin is worth a follow on twitter too.
The good:
The transfer I made this GW was Coutinho (2) out and Kulusevski (12) in. The ‘ginger from Sweden’ scored and assisted in his debut for Horse FC. Likewise, so did the in form striker Toney (12). I am happy I had the patience to hold on to Raphinha (10) who scored for the first time in 7 appearences. Captain Kane (20) returned a trio of assists. Rudiger (6) kept a clean sheet. Salah (5) and Cancelo (5) both assisted. All in all, 74 points. Tenth green arrow in 13 GWs and just 42 places outside the fabled 10K.
The bad:
Last season I wrote a couple of captaincy articles eulogising Son Heung-min. The more I researched him the more I loved him. Son is one of my favourite players in the Prem. He has scored 48 points in the last 3 GWs having scored 6 goals, one assist and 8 bonus and I don’t own him. Nor do I have an easy route to get him into my team.
The ugly:
Like most managers, I suspect, I like to have a strong squad especially in these uncertain times when games have been postponed at the last minute. The problem is when the team is too strong. Or to be more precise when the players who haven’t made the first 11 have done too well.
I had faith in Arsenal at home to an out of sorts Brighton side and tripled up with Ramsdale, White and Saka. I was also seduced by Weghorst’s ‘easy fixture’ against Norwich. I should have learned from Watford’s easy fixture against Norwich before and the Dennis fiasco but I did not. The four players combined for 4 points.
Meanwhile my bench of Pickford, Trent, Davies and Gordon returned a goal, 2 assists, 2 clean sheets and 6 bonus points for a grand total of 29 points.
We Move…
So, there is just 6 GWs to hold it together for before we can join some of the Man United players on the beach.
At the moment there are 3 DGWs announced in 33, 36 and 37. The best way to attack these DGWs is very much team dependent. Let me tell you how I plan to go for it. I am in the fortunate position of having 2 free hit chips left.
At present, I have 11 players with double fixtures in GW36 so it makes perfect sense to FH in 33 and 37.
I won’t finalise my Free Hit team until after the midweek European matches have been played. Whether or not Leicester get through to the next round has the biggest bearing on my team. But it would not be beyond this season to throw another a spanner in the works. The big decision looks like whether to go big on Man United’s ‘easy fixture’ against Norwich and double up the attack with Ronnie and Bruno. Son, Kane and Cancelo are in too good form to ignore despite only playing one match. Saka and White may be given a chance to make amends for the weekend. Maddison is Leicester’s best midfielder but his inclusion depends on his game time in midweek and the Foxes prospects in Europe. I will probably go for the ‘Eggs in many Baskets’ approach in defence. So, Schar, Telles and Schmeichel will get a chance too in a 442 formation. Saying that, all this could change.

GW32 Review
The good:
There was not much to shout about this week which is explained by the red arrow. Captained Kane over Salah. He’s in great form and I was very happy with three assists. Kulusevski also returned with a goal and assist and is presenting exceptionally good value. Raphinha came in with a much needed rare double digit return. Cancelo and TAA also returned and I got the benching right with Robbo.
The bad:
Well anyone without Son or Toney basically had a bad GW. I’m not sure I’ve seen a green arrow without at least one of them. Toney I even sold a few weeks back as I logically thought RJames would score more points going forward. Luck not on my side there. I played the wrong keeper with Dubravka on the bench with his seven points. Arsenal were really disappointing I really did not see that loss coming.
GW33 Preview
I have a benching dilemma this week. I’m actually pretty tempted to BB but I think I might save this for GW36. FH is also pretty tempting but I’m just not sure on United they are playing so badly currently so they are a difficult team to back on current form. Also a lot of my SGW players have nice fixtures and could outscore double GW players. I think I will FH in GW37 as it does not look too bad this week. I think I will bench James as he played 120mins in Europe and then plays an FA cup Semi Final. Will he play vs Arsenal? Yeah, maybe, but he could also feature from the bench. It’s also a tough fixture regardless.
Transfer plans
Raphinha does not have a fixture this week and has rough fixtures. I think I will sell for Maddison who has a DGW and another double in GW36. He seems to be the in form Leicester asset. With Doherty out for the season and seemingly needing some surgery I think I will make the sideways shift to Emerson at Spurs who is just 4.5. He will be nailed at RWB for the rest of the season. Though not as productive or as good as Doherty he is attacking and Spurs are chasing top four so have something to play for. I believe it makes sense to do the move now to give me some bench cover. I would then bench RJames from the team shown in the picture with Emerson. I am tempted to BB which I could do by selling Cucho for JRod for a -4. This might depend on Cucho injury news. I am looking ahead for a BB in GW36 which I’m close to a full set of doubles I just need to switch Dubravka for a keeper, maybe Foster or if I spend more then Schmeichel.

How does Barnes & Cucho to DewsburyHall
& Broja sounds? Have just enough to then do White to James in gw34. I’ve 2FT 0itb.
Is this to do a BB, presumably?
Nope, will WC35 BB36 FH37 as it stands. Just realized I’m 0.2m short of Broja if I want to have just enough for White to James in gw34. Mateta seems to fit the budget though
I’m not sure I get the reason for the changes then.
I have 2FTs to use and Cucho seems to be out for long term so thinking of getting Mateta as cover and he does have decent fixture for next gw and DGW to come so I might keep him after the WC as well. 2nd transfer to free up funds for white to James as Chelsea would have a dgw34 if they beat palace. Plus not sure if likelihood of Barnes playing both games is higher than budget friendly Dewburyhall. Does it make more sense now?
Since no BB and 1st team looks good, maybe leave as is. You will WC soon anyway. Barnes may do well this GW.
Thanks mate
Hey guys,
Which 2 from these 3 should I play
Weghorst
Toney (single game v watford)
Livramento
Cheers
I have the same 3, planningToney and Weghorst at the moment.
Same here currently
Weggy and Toney. Not convinced Livramento gets both
Thanks smash
The 1st two.
Anyone planning to BB in 36? If yes, did you try to build a BB team. Things went not as per my plan. What is better?
(1) Take -8 in GW33, BB in 33 and let it go. Then I can WC in 34/35 with very cheap bench.
(2) BB in 36 and that means in my WC in 34/35, I have to consider some bench players eating my playing 11 budget.
General question: if Liverpool make the FA Cup final (Sat 14th May), where does their fixture v Southampton (scheduled for Sun 15th May) go to? Anyone know for certain?
I’d presume it’d just be moved back a few days. As it’s gw 37 there’s no chance of it being moved into another gw as only 38 left. It’s scheduled for Sunday but there are games being played up until Thursday in gw37 so will probably move to midweek
Hmmm, see it’ll be known tomorrow if they’re in the cup final or not. So I thought potentially they could move it forwards into gameweek 34, 35 or 36
They’ve already got a dgw 36 and 34 & 35 they are in Europe. They’re playing the following dates through that period (24th, 27th, 30th, 3rd, 7th, 10th) so highly unlikely any more games will be squeezed in there
Ah yes think you’re right – I hadn’t realised that there literally wasn’t any other available date before week 37!
Seems Laca won’t play.
Play woeful Maupay or get Nacho or Wood for -4? Only have BB left.
I would probably make the move. Seen a couple of lineup predictions for Brighton Maupay isn’t in it. I’d fancy ASM if budget is not an issue. Could you pls have a look at my team as well?
Prob get Wood
BB active GW36 was looking difficult as needed striker for Cucho and a keeper. Plan to sell Robbo and Saka next week for Chelsea double prob Alonso and Havertz or Rudiger and Mount
Good luck
