Live Match Chat Game-week 38 – FPL Fantasy Premier League

Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 33Welcome to the final Live Match Chat of the season. Well there isn’t a whole lot left to play for in the league itself, unless Man City have a massive catastrophe and that’s not likely to happen is it. Is It? Surely not… There will doubtless be an awful lot left to play for in fantasy terms though as many managers look to seal victory in their mini-leagues or indeed salvage an unlikely win from an impossible situation. Whatever your scenario this week be sure to keep us updated on the drama as it unfolds. Today is unique in the PL calendar as all the games are played at 3pm for the only time in the season so expect break-neck updates and dreams both realised and shattered in seconds. This could be a stressful one!

FF247 would like to thank every single fantasy manager who has contributed to this thread throughout the season. We have thoroughly enjoyed your posts on your joys, your frustrations, your elation and your dismay. If you watched it unfold from afar then we thank you too and would encourage you to get involved. We won’t bite, we promise. Well some may, but hey that’s part of the fun….

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points and the mini-league dramas right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck for GW38 from all at FF247!

Is that really it for this season? Well it’s been quite a ride. Would like to take this time to thank everyone from this site. Early on in the season, before discovering FFC and then this place, I was terrible. I made a very unbalanced GW 1 team and I captained Cech, I played (wasted) my WC in GW2, and I took a 24 point hit in GW 4. Then in the early part of the season, I got a series of green arrows due to all the articles and help. Now I’m trying to get 50k, something I couldn’t have dreamed of at the start of the season! I know me asking the same question 25 times, and needing help with the most obvious of issues, has annoyed quite a few people here, so thanks for putting up with all that, and for all the great articles and advice through the season. I know the FF247 team must have worked really hard this season, and I’m really looking forward to World Cup fantasy with you guys!

Here’s hoping all our players actually play unlike the GW37 fiasco.

So tell me, what do you have hinging on today’s game, fantasy wise?

Nothing but pride unfortunately, given RVP the (c) and hoping for as high a GW ranking as possible.

      • Raziel says:

Southampton isn’t a easy team to beat Andy. Plus it’s an away game. I just went with Suarez, I think he’s shown us very little past couple of weeks. Everybody is blaming Gerrard and the defense. Suarez hasn’t come close to his old form. The old Suarez would’ve gotten more than 1 shot on target against Chelsea, he would’ve found a way.

Same here really, pretty much guaranteed my £50 overall profit unless something spectacular happens in my ML, would like to finish top 30k!

Maybe a place in the top10k if lucky and a place in one of the Banterbury Leagues as I have my Qual H2H final.

      Just two small things.

A place in the top 10k (currently at 15k), winning all the leagues I’m in (currently the case, but one or two are very close). If you’d asked me at the start of the season, it would have just been winning the work cash league and finishing in the top 100k – so brilliant has this site been.

      • jamesimmo says:

Great work theswirly! Always nice to win your leagues. I’m top of all but one, and the leader of that one is ranked at 1.5k, so I need to up my game next season!

Good luck in this final, decisive gameweek, mate

Quite a bit actually, nervous doesn’t begin to describe it!

First off as you know the big shield final with Cookie

Second, I lie joint 3rd in Banterbury championship and need to win my last game while hoping James101 doesn’t or if he does I beat his score today by 8 points.

Third and likely most important for me is gaining the 7 points I need to crack top 1k overall, I currently lie 1300 and need a good day today to achieve this target.

Good luck to all on here, cracking community of lads
BTW, the World Cup coming soon so I hope like last season on FFC many will hang around during the summer?

      • jamesimmo says:

An strong finish should tick all those boxes! Well done this season

I have A Level revision to contend with today! Really sucks…

      • Good Luck GG and I echo your sentiments about people hanging out through the summer so we can all get involved in Fantasy World Cup.

      • Bryan Munich says:

Hopefully there’ll be a bit of MLS banter too, like last summer. Oh…and more soccerball articles. Whoever’s responsibility that is should pull their finger out. 😉

Winning my ML would be one !!! (the most important for me, actually) …
Already having my best season ever, so every single pt & position higher from the current one – will be a plus…

p.s. oh yeah, Andy C. to score a brace against City !!!

For me James, beating my best ever position of 18,513 (I’m no Inittowinit that’s for sure!) would mean a lot. I’m currently at 20,798 so it could be a close thing!

      • jamesimmo says:

That’d be a great finish, and, it’s easily within reach too! I missed the first few weeks last season, so wherever I finish today with be my first benchmark to beat next season..

        How’s your MLS season going?

        • Bryan Munich says:

It’s improved somewhat, but that’s not saying much. Moved to within touching distance of the top 1k but way off last season’s performance. It’s largely my own fault, but the lack of auto-subs and the micro-management elements (during the staggered kick-offs) that they’ve brought in have screwed me over too many times for me to really enjoy it this year. I’ll keep going though. Aiming for a top 500 finish this time round.

Did you do it last year? If so, how do you compare this year’s experience?

        • jamesimmo says:

Ahh I see, I know, no auto subs is a crazy rule! I didn’t no, your articles introduced me to it, and I’m finding it to be quite enjoyable!

After a novice start of rank 10k, I’ve had green arrows every week ((so far!)) and have won all my H2H matches since… probably beginner’s luck as I’m playing very casually.

Still though, I hope your season picks up. Top 500 sounds good.

        • Hi fellas.
          Just got on here.
Good luck to you all today.

I am on exactly the same points as a mate. Victory today should see my win all my local minileagues.
Aiming for a top 10K finish.
Hattrick for Suarez (c) will do nicely. smile
