Welcome to the final Live Match Chat of the season. Well there isn’t a whole lot left to play for in the league itself, unless Man City have a massive catastrophe and that’s not likely to happen is it. Is It? Surely not… There will doubtless be an awful lot left to play for in fantasy terms though as many managers look to seal victory in their mini-leagues or indeed salvage an unlikely win from an impossible situation. Whatever your scenario this week be sure to keep us updated on the drama as it unfolds. Today is unique in the PL calendar as all the games are played at 3pm for the only time in the season so expect break-neck updates and dreams both realised and shattered in seconds. This could be a stressful one!

NIN – yeah he kinda is haha. He did well for us during qualifiers but he’s done nothing this whole season in terms of goal scoring and he just made some not so nice comments about his teammates. So I was a little surprised, but it was in a good way haha.
Josh – Haha, a few of the guys on MLS Boss were saying he was a bit of a nutter!
Anyone know if there’s a fantasy site for the world cup? In the past there were some official ones from EPSN but I can’t seem to find any for this WC…anyone know ??
We’re all going to be playing the official FIFA one from what I’ve heard. I don’t think it’s been opened yet though.

Chins I think he will be great. He’s certainly rugged enough for the Prem and in a different class to Baptista or Soldado. Would you not fancy Arsenal taking Lukaku?
Isn’t 12.0 a bit much? Soldado scored 24 goals in the league the season before he came to Spurs and he was 9.0 or 9.5 right? Costa has 27 goals so far in the league. Was thinking more like 10.5 myself, but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.
I would LOVE arsenal to get lukaku. The guy is class. And in a team full of attacking players that actually pass to him he’d be a 30 goals a season man!
No chance though. Jose will probably loan him to Stoke or something, now that Everton have proved themselves to be a serious top 4 rival.
How will Everton replace him? Is that young Toure chap (i think thats his name) good enough? Surely you can’t just go with Naismith?!
I heard Atletico are looking at Lukaku and Hernandez (Chicharito).
Nin, i’d be surprised that if Athletico are looking at lukaku then i doubt the Costa deal would be done. Surely they’d just do some sort of swap deal?
I’d rather have lukaku. Younger, and less baggage.
Tekno I’ll split the difference with you then and say 11.5 😉 Just thinking they’ll class him as going to a better team than Soldado did and he’s far higher rated.
Chins I’ve no idea what we will do. We haven’t seen Troare as he scored in the cup and went off 5 minutes later injured and that was that. And er no I doubt we will be running with Naismith as our main striker anytime soon!
Good point Chins. Maybe Lukaku is weighing up different offers, or waiting to see if Atletico get butchered in the transfer window. He’d be good for them though, as would Hernandez.
init/tekno – 11m sounds about right for Costa. Haha.
Have read several times on twitter that Tottenham is interested in Lukaku.
Ok well i might play the WC game. Depends on holidays – in 2010 I was in US and lost family brownie points for watching every game. I did fantastic on the official FIFA one (or was it Uefa) btw, it was a weird scoring system with points for tackles etc but basically the two things were to pick players from teams who wouldn’t get knocked out (ok, like duh) and – here’s the secret – pick anyone from those teams who was played out of position. Because like everyone scored points for tackles but only defenders got penalized for goals conceded, so a defender classed as a midfielder was a good deal. At the same time defenders who scored goals got extra points so, yeah. Out of 2m players I came either around 300th or 3000th, either way a happy time. (Especially having van bronckhorst in my team who was subbed before Spain scored so got a CS.)

I very nearly won one of those! Can’t remember now whether it was that or the Euros one after it but I was coming 5th after the group stages and was still in the thick of it come the semis. I went all in on Germamy I think it was and they got dumped out so I had very few players left in the final and finished up about 25th! I’ll have to dig that out and see which one it was.
Init n Chins, thanks both of you for replying – I harboured hopes of finishing ahead of either/both of you but just missed out, congrats on avoiding that embarrassment
till next season. I found WC in 2010 was just intensive research and all over too soon, not as satisfying as watching/monitoring players like Lallana or Berbatov week after week to see if they’re worth signing.
Quick shout-out to Serendipity, nice kind words exchanged a few months back when we both got on a roll and fantastic to see you finish so well.

gkw that’s a brilliant effort mate, well done. You must be really pleased. I can understand the frustration as you had a top 5k in your sights there but it’s still fantastic. Without doing the math properly I’m guessing that’s top 0.3%?
Thanks again both. Yeah, top 0.3% or thereabouts, init, but I see last season you finished another order of magnitude better and have done consistently well down the years. Me, I’ve usually given up by January – but this time I got on a flier with the Chelsea DGW and just had a bit more time to keep up the background research. Very satisfied to finish in the Bangladesh top 20.
Reckon with ideal team selection (even keeping the same captains as selected) I could’ve won outright because I left so many points on the bench. Though that’s probably the case for hundreds of us, and I can’t be bothered to work it out. Anyway, great season yeah – someone I know did as well as this every year till this one but was way down in the 100,000s.

They sound about right Tekno, though I expect Yaya and Ramsey to be 0.5 – 1.0 more. Expect a bunch of decent signings over the summer too so hopefully be some good bargains to be had.
Suarez will most surely cost at least 14.0 right? Will you guys get him in? Surely he can’t replicate this seasons results, especially not with the Champions League, so I think I might pass on him, or get him in and then sell him when the fixture list tightens up. Kinda hoping he goes to Madrid or Barca actually, would make it easier for us. Hope Hazard goes to PSG as well for the same reason.
Tekno. Way too many potentially expensive players next season. And thats before we throw in any new superstars (costa etc) and any players moving to bigger clubs.
Could be an even tougher squad choice than this year!

Yep, gonna be tough to choose a squad next year. Hope Hazard and Suarez is sold and that United gets in some players who’ll be a little cheaper.
Very few players who are priced 14m in FPL are worth that much (in FPL). CRonaldo was, and that’s about it as I remember (going back 5 years or so). As usual the trick will be to spot the midfielders and forwards who are under-priced at around 8m to 10m but have good pedigree and prospects and pre-season form, plus bargain goalies and defenders around 4.5m.
