Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 34+.
GW34+ Deadline; Tuesday 7th July 5:00pm GMT

A game of two halves

WAKEY WAKEY FOLKS! GW 34+ is upon us, about 14 hours after the last one finished. And we are back as ever with the latest LMC and FF247 Site Team news.

Finally it looks like some of the players and teams are warming up nicely and perhaps those balmy yet boring evenings of bore draws and friendly pre-season type games are behind us. This particular one spans three days over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday before we have the now usual break on Friday ahead of getting going again with GW35+ on Saturday. It’s Christmas on steroids.

As always we shall endeavour to post the line-ups prior to each phase of the relevant GW and our usual FPL Countdown Timer (to be found above the latest comments section) is active should you need any quick help keeping up.

Tips will be dispensed in the chat below but feel free to get involved in said chat, whether that’s asking for advice or answering others.

FF247 SITE TEAM GW34+
This is where LMC takes a slight twist. Given the lack of opportunity to post any full or meaningful articles it is our intention to simply post our weekly transfer and Captain choice on here prior to each deadline. As a result this article is now posted way in advance of when it usually is.

Our GW33+ Result…
Our GW (and WC) got off to a flier with Captain Bruno of the Good Ship Ole hauling 30 points. His mate Mason grabbed two goals and his performance probably deserved more than the meagre 13 that it brought in. The new Mbappe anyone? Either way enjoy him at £4.4m as he’ll be a damn sight more next season. Wan-B was our other United asset but Bournemouth unexpectedly p*ssed on our CS chips.

Doherty and Jimenez were suprisingly quiet against Arsenal but Pulisic rounded our Saturday off nicely with an assist and a great performance which gives us hope that he will keep his spot in Frank’s team. The new Hazard anyone?

If Saturday was good then Sunday was a different beast as it began poorly with Pope conceding a late goal and the feckin eejit didn’t even make enough saves to garner a bonus. He’s been told. Must try harder.

Things did improve marginally with Salah grabbing a late assist and TAA managing an inevitable CS, but nothing more. Not quite what we expected from either at home to Villa. KDB was then benched, as was Foden who would have been his replacement for us. Both emerged for fruitless 30 minute cameos. The only surprise was that Foden didn’t score to compound our Sunday misery.

We finished the week on 71 points. That left us with another green arrow and a rise of 13,150 places up to 86,928TH.

GW34+ TRANSFER
We have SOLD and BOUGHT……eh? Not sure? So a day or two ago we were all for selling Salah and buying Son. Then we watched Spurs play a bit and started thinking maybe that was not so wise. The problem though is we had no consensus on what to actually do. Someone said Sterling, the other said just keep Salah. Kop is still drunk and one of our other committee members never appeared. So basically the decision was left to the person finishing up this article and if you leave the decision to a lazy person don’t be shocked when he makes the lazy (not necessarily wrong) decision. So we did nothing or did we? Well, if we do change our mind in the morning we will be sure to update this article and post it on the chat, well someone will, but it won’t be this lazy ass, my work here is done!!

We have played our BENCH BOOST
Yep, we’re going chip crazy here. In fact this is our last. We played our WC last week with the intention of following through with the BB as we had identified this week and last as a good combo for doing so. Part 1 went well ish, let’s see how Part 2 pans out…

GW34+ CAPTAIN
Our Captain for GW34+ will be Kevin De Bruyne.

Ironically his benching at Saints helped us along nicely to this decision, for obvious reasons. Although he did look a little off colour when he came on. Probably just needs a shave.

Our Vice-Captain will be our new signing Bruno Fernandes.

Double wolves CS wiped out, Captain KDB wins 5-0 with a solitary assist and no Mo…

The wheels seem to have come off!

Aurier, Fernandes, Greenwood and Rashford to go but a lot of people have a similar combo so not expecting it to help much…

      Chipster says:

Yes, the late goal WOL conceded really hurt me too, with Patricio and Doherty. No Mo for me either.

I’m on a lowly 30pts so far. I expect a big red arrow overnight. I really need captain Kane to help me out tomorrow. A CS for Digne would be nice too. Otherwise my three Utd attackers will be highly owned so unlikely to be of much help whatever they do.

    AJW says:

Great – I had Hendo & Salah tonight (got in Hendo during lockdown dull moments). As they say, ‘Even a stopped clock gives time twice a day’. In my case it’s twice a season! Still got a mediocre score but happy football is back! Cheerio all :)!

      Kralin says:

Best to gauge a score at the end of the GW. I’m sure you’ll be fine. Captain to come as well.

Henderson has had his moments this season.

      • AJW says:

Always reassuring Kralin. I feel like the prodigal son – your advice is constantly rewarded with by my mediocrity! Next season I shall stick to my guns. Even tho I did count on teams using personnel such as Henderson Foden, Sako and Greenwood in this ‘phony war’ end of season, so it’s pleasing when some of the predictions come to pass. Not consistent enough to translate to long-term success tho’! Hope you are well. With a magnificent set of new red ‘Liverpool 2020’ tea towels? smile In any case thanks for all your help and support this year.

        • AJW says:

Oh too many prepositions aligned! ‘With’ or ‘by, AJW, but never both! smile

        • Kralin says:

I do have a slightly battered red t-shirt that I dug out and wore for a day or two after the curse was finally broken.

My pleasure, though I am a bit of a broken record. I’d play the game the way you want to play it, it’s more fun that way.

There is no greater satisfaction than seeing your highly-unlikely-to-score differential score!! smile

    billisBob says:

Anyone have any idea if Vardy will get retroactively banned for his kick out on musafi? From the videos I’ve seen it looks very deliberate but if he’s playing against Bournemouth on the weekend I’ll need to transfer him in!!

    • 129.1
      Smash says:

Yeah I don’t know I’m planning on bringing him in

    • 129.2
      Kralin says:

I think the entire community is gnawing its nails over that one.

I have absolutely no idea. Maybe he can pretend it was some sort of nervous spasm he’s been battling for years.

      billisBob says:

Smash and kralin, It’s painful with price rises to combat isn’t it!!

Something I’ve been wondering if if we even still have retroactive bans now with the addition of VAR? I hear if the ref missed it in his end of match notes a retroactive ban can still be applied.. but some word from the FA would help us fpl Managers out !!

      • Smash says:

I’m not bothered on price rises on this one. Would likely come in for Kane unless he does something spectacular

      • Kralin says:

I’ve completely tuned out of price rises, to be honest. It’s all so rushed at the moment: I’m finding that side a bridge too far. Cue rousing war movie music.

There will probably be a run on Egan, and David Silva. Anthony Hopkins. Parachuting down over occupied Europe.

        • billisBob says:

          True matee ahhaa

I’m only paying attention as I have a move in mind !! Ideally I’d have a better TV than I have right now sad hahah

    Super Reds says:

Does Doherty & Jiménez to Saiss & Vardy sounds good for GW35?

    • 130.1
      Kralin says:

Wolves have gone off the boil a bit so I’m not sure if I’d bother with Saiss.

Maybe research other cheapos, like Taylor etc if you don’t have Pope.

The Vardy bit yes though obviously check he’s going to play.

    man u man says:

Guys what are yer thoughts on TAA and Jimenez to digne and vardy for a hit, it has to be tonight though before they go up.

    Drexl says:

Been so weird since the comeback…I have averaged 60 transfers a season for 10 years now…had some decent placings.. I like to play the game actively….yet in these 3/4 weeks since lockdown I have bitten my tongue, stuck and not twisted, kept the wine in the cellar etc etc. But this time it really has paid off. Sometimes, though rarely, inactivity in this game is a huge weapon. I think it’s almost the most difficult skill…………until next week when the wheels fall off again!

      billisBob says:

Very true mate..feel similar to you. I never think this way, but law of averages says that if you have a good player in your team, they will eventually come back into form.

‘Season keepers’ like Salah and De Brune can make you second guess yourself at times but you have to stick to your guns sometimes!

My resolution for FPL next season is no more silly captaincies… Sticking it on a season keeper always rarther than punts!! Gotta play the long game innit

      • Drexl says:

good to see you still around after all these years bB…..not been ‘site’ active but always followed closely and enjoyed your posts…guess we dont give this stuff up…..and to your point resolutions are excellent in advance….but truth is silly captaincies will abound next season too, like all the others!…good luck for the remaining game weeks….personally think its been one of the most interesting seasons of all..

        • billisBob says:

Likewise drexl mate I feel like I might even remember your gravatar from the FFC days??

Can’t lie I have not been active at all this season, first year uni really had to put fpl to the back seat. But it feels great to be properly back! Got in a post covid minileague which has kept me going!

It’s very true though mate, old habits die hard hahaha. Literally just up on this page I’m talking about capping vardy over Salah next week haha

Best of luck for the rest of your season too mate. It has been interesting that’s for sure !!

      Rosco says:

Very true Drexl, patience is my biggest weakness and often my greatest ally!! Out of interest is that your team linked, I only ask as it doesn’t match the narrative! Stay patient and stay winning! :good:

      • Drexl says:

Hi Rosco. How you doing. No this is a secondary team. Will try work how to link the main side. Sat on not far shy of 2000 pt mark with 3 main players to play topping a 10 year old ML. Finally put daylight between me and chasers this GW. But yeah sticking to my guns has and always is hard.
