I need a way to make up for my 12 point hit, so may a couple of red cards and own goals follow the rest of you around this GW. Other than that Good Luck!

So…here’s a post “Confirm team” question.

What in your view is a decent position in FF?

There’s over 3 million teams, so you might think that to be in the top, say, 1 million, is good. However in my experience over half will have given up after having had a bad first week or two, or after they “forgot to look at their team this week” and give up. So maybe there’s only 1 million “active” FF managers out of the 3 million? I don’t know.

Anyway, what do you think is a good position in the worldwide rankings? Top 1 million? Top 100k? Top 10k?

Of course, the only thing that really matters is beating your mates! smile

Ben, that’s a good question. At least 787k people are definitely still actively playing, because that’s how many sold Aguero last week. But we also know that in total 3m transfers were made last week. The FPL discovery site says on average people in the top 10k (who are generally active, we can assume) made 2 transfers so, if we assume that’s typical behaviour for active players, we can just divide the 3m by 2 to give us an estimate of 1.5m active players at this point in the season. So if that’s right, then being in the top 750k means being above-average out of players who are still active. That’s not a bad ambition to have as a minimum target.

Cooke and gwk – interesting stuff, thanks. Agree should be top 100k. Dropped from position 23k to 44k overnight basically because I don’t have Hazard! Hopefully my 4 Sunday players will get me back up there!

Good luck everybody. Just hope my wildcard team doesn’t hit me in the face.
