GW18 is live! We hope you were happy with your Christmas presents and that the turkey and trimmings went down well but that’s all over now and so back to the serious business of fantasy football! Hopefully your transfers, line-ups and your all important captain selection are all sorted and you didn’t over indulge in the festive period and do anything daft like take a huge hit or indeed just forget altogether! Live Match Chat is your chance to have your say on the line-ups as they are announced, the games as they happen and the fallout afterwards. Boxing Day is indeed a bumper day with all 20 teams playing so no sooner has it begun than it will end and is unique in the season in that respect. We think. Couldn’t be bothered to check! We begin with an early game as Chelsea welcome West Ham. There are then a hectic eight games at 3pm before Arsenal and QPR see us out in the early evening.

Had a mare yesterday. Giroud as captain for a -4 score. FML.
In one of my mini leagues I dropped from 1st to 2nd and in the other I dropped from 2nd to 3rd.
Not wanting to loose value, I panic transferred Welbeck in for Giroud, and then used the spare cash to upgrade Wanyama (who seems to have lost his XI spot) to Downing.
I’ve missed out on the right captain choice for the last 2 weeks now. Logic tells me go with Austin this week, any thoughts?
Austin is a good choice mate.. But I am not sure about wellbeck (no form) or downing (tough fixture)..
Yeah, Welbeck was a sidewards move, but played well yesterday and should get more chances now Arsenal will go back to 3:5:1
Downing has a tough game tomorrow but then has a better run, which is what I was looking at. Should get me through to the wildcard.
Fingers crossed it works out.

Took a -4 yesterday to swap baines, siggy and giroud to silva, benteke and Evans. So now lining up with YYT and silva for the next 2. Hopefully it will pay off. Never thought I would be happy to see the back of baines.
Reading through last nights threads there now seems to be a bit of a benteke wagon in progress.

Got 78 pts this gw which ain’t tooo shabby, though Bony has been a bit of a let down! with the ACON just round the corner I’ve shipped the Ivorian out for Austin – so my team now reads like this

Festive greetings! Hope you’ve all had a brilliant Christmas and you got some excellent returns in your fantasy footy yesterday! I got 88 and so I’m back in the top 10k again! Very happy!
With my 2 FTs, I’m thinking of doing Kane to Austin and Chambers to Bruce. Whilst Kane has been on fire, I can’t help but think Austin will be ridiculous the next two games (and QPR have got better fixtures). My thinking is that Arsenal have tricky fixtures coming up too and Hull have Leicester at home (plus various suspensions and injuries and so Bruce should play).
Thoughts would be much appreciated! Current team without any changes is below.
