    A few ideas…
1 – WC33+BB34 was always going to mean a poor GW33, especially if you chased XV DGW players. It was a “one step back, two steps forward” strategy – it just wasn’t supposed to be 3 steps back!!
2 – Look at the positives, Kane and Mahrez blanked!
3 – Look at your ML opponents with great scores and count how many DGW players will they be able to perform without hits – yeah baby the one who laughs last and all that.
4 – Don’t judge a DGW strategy before it even starts…stick with it and don’t go messing with transfers and hits you know you’ll need for GW35 (that was the strategy, remember?)
5 – Curse this dreaded gw33 and life in general anyway. You deserve it for all those meticulously planning hours.

Wait, you went against your own strategy ??? I don’t think gw33 was “always going to be a poor week ” Most of the players I brought in were good players with good fixtures in gw33 34 and beyond and a few with a dgw in 33 including a dgw captain who, unfortunately, like his team is out of form.It was always a calculated gamble but I guess we didn’t count on Klopp resting most of his Liverpool side rather than just a couple and De Bruyne not being given as many minutes as we hoped.Oh and I kept Kane and Mahrez but shipped out Ali and Vardy !! Let’s hope gw34 is still gonna be huge !! smile

Brooky, WC37 is a valid strategy anyway and as I said in my article it really depends on each manager’s situation. In my case, both strategies could work well and in the end I went for wc33+bb34 simply for ML concerns. As it stands I’m losing a few ground in 33 (you are wright, it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad one, but the odds were against it in all honesty, especially if you were losing all the big hitters with a single gw as I did) but I’m happy for now, cause I’m still in first place and the others won’t be able to field enough dgw’s as my XV!
They still have TC but they don’t have (and I do) Mr. Sanchez! And I get to TC Payet on 37. We’ll see. This of course will not work out if Alli, Mahrez, Vardy and the like keep their form, as highlighted on the article. That’s the risk mate. Hope you go well on 34 and it will all make sense. Cheers.

Calm down everyone haha. The DGW 34 hasn’t been played yet and everyone is regretting it already. Maybe Lukaku scores a hat-trick midweek (big maybe) but bench boost will get you your points back in 34.

The injuries and rotation is a little worrying but have a little faith

Scrap that I’m doomed too. Poxy Sakho, KDB, Rashford, Lukaku WTF?

      • Rosco77 says:

I have those 5 players too and ended up with a dismal 34 points!! The 3 teams in my mini league who didn’t have WC left scored a lot more than me and they still have the same or more double players left this week!! Im screwed!!
What are your thoughts on the above players, are you keeping them and just sticking with BB next week int he hope it pays off? I also had Coutinho so thats an added worry for me too! Sakho is my biggest worry but do i want to take him out for say moreno or just sit tight and hope he plays next week…argghhhhh

        • McButcher says:

I may play TC instead but gonna wait the week out and decide.

Too soon to be making decision.

I just read DMC’s post he makes sense there. Look for advice come Thursday/Friday.

What would you advise in my situation? I have13 DGWers including Rojo, Gabriel, Sakho and Coutinho. I have 9 “starters” for GW 35.

    1. I continue with the plan to BB next week?
    2. TC Sanchez/Aguero. Alternativel
    3. I could take a couple of hits to remedy the GW 34 situation and BB.

Sorry for the duplicate. It’s an indication of nerves and desperation.

      • DMC says:

Swiss, too early to call. I mean gw33 hasn’t even ended! Anyway, as cookie mentioned above, several games involving dgw teams are yet to be played this week so surely option 3 is out of the question for now.
If it helps, I for one am not considering any transfers for the moment. Bar any injuries or relevant team news, I’m sticking with my XV WC. I only have Gabriel out of those you mention but if it helps I think they’ll all keep their place for 34.
I’ve heard people trashing Gabriel’s performance but I saw part of the game and he didn’t look bad or at least worse than the rest. It was just “a Carroll day”. My only fear in that regard is that Wenger may give other players a chance now that they are out of the title race. This however, seems unlikely given that they are being chased by city and it’s just not the same thing to head into Champions League directly (3rd spot) or having to endure early qualifying in august (4th spot).
