Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

And we are off!! Another season of bitter FPL disappointment for most gets rolling when Leicester travels to Old Trafford to take on Jose’s happy warriors. That Friday night fixture is followed by six more on Saturday.

A lunch time affair sees Newcastle and Spurs face off in the battle of who spent the least this transfer window. That is followed by The Cherries vs newcomers Cardiff. Fulham who is also recently promoted, tangle with Palace, Huddersfield plays host to Sarri-ball, Watford dukes it out with Brighton and in the late game we get a first look at the much talked about Wolves side when they face off vs Everton.

Sunday brings us the last three fixtures. Liverpool begin what promises to be an exciting season that is likely to end the same as most, not good enough to win anything. They will take on a new look Hammers team, that 1:30 game is accompanied by a match only a mother could love when Saints take on Burnley. The gameweek is closed out by the best game on paper. When the champions travel to the Emirates to clash with the Wenger-less Gunners.

  1. I opted for DDG and not Shaw, what a good start of the season! smile

    • Thankfully it’s a marathon… No need to start too fast 😉

    • He was chugging along nicely tonight with a save point as well. A complete pisser. But he will get you loads of CS over the season. He’s a great keeper.

But something to cheer you up: believe it or not, > 300 odd managers have transferred him out tonight. Why on earth would you do that?

      • Yeah, unbelievable!! If you got him at the start, you stick with him! Hilarious :big-lol:

        • And, as always my team B started better with Shaw in it :smiling:

        • There you go. You are inadvertently taking credit from having him. You can’t have two teams.

        • It was a fantastic debate but can we all just agree to disagree about the 2 teams things before it starts again? Pretty please and all that.

          Some do, some don’t. Whatever.

        • I was going to say something, but it’s only Ivan and er his B team is famous for doing better than his A team; in fact there’s probably a Shaw in his MLS side, or his UEFA side or whatever, and he’s getting confused.

        • Eheh yeah I’m fine with it. Just saw a perfect example of what I was saying the other day but don’t want to cause any unnecessary stress.

        • OK, I think init summed it up nicely. Subject closed.

        • Ivan you and your B team. Why not just make it your A team and be done. You know it always does better 😉

        • That is the trouble PJ. I tried last time and all went shite.

        • Haha, that’s exactly the magic of your B teams Ivan, can’t break the spell by a mere name switch… Your My Rules usually does pretty well too, any team but the main team smile

        • I hope so Zed. That is the beefy team where No Salad is allowed 🙂

        • You never stroke me as a vegetarian anyway… Gotta be a juicy steak, right? 😉

  2. And Arsenal are no longer top of the league 😆

  3. Goals for Pogba and Shaw. Well done to Mito for selecting them.

  4. So, from tomorrow I am going to be obsessed with checking my mini league points constantly throughout every weekend for the whole season. Anyone got any advise on how I stop doing that?

    • Sorry can’t help you there Carolyn

    • Embrace it smile

    • I tend not to transfer until Friday / Saturday morning so it’s relatively easy to put it to one side. I try to be disciplined and look at things early morning then later in the day. Sometimes I lapse.

Just get a serious reading habit, if you haven’t already.

      • I have got a serious reading habit, your comments every morning!

        • It’s just dream-babble, Carolyn.

        • That could be a great song title, “Just Dream-Babble, Carolyn”…

        • ZL, you have a good PR approach.
Just Dream-Babble by Justin Bieber with special guest the Squeak :smiling:

        • Matching Mole’s O Caroline takes some beating. Nice intro, if memory serves.

        • So Caroline by The Posies is quite good!

        • To completely change the subject, how well regarded in Finland is Edward Vesala? I sincerely hope he’s considered a legend.

        • Last question was for ZL.

        • No, he’s not a legend here, only known in the jazz circles, if you went out to the streets and asked most of the people would have never heard of him smile

I know him obviously as I’m a jazz person and play guitar myself (when I’m not busy drinking Finlandia I must add)…

        • Thanks.

        • OK, Zed and Kralin. Some people around here might wonder wtf is going on. I know we used to have that chill out zone where everyone used to put happiness and frustration to rest after a matchday with silly chat but….. 😆

        • Silly chat, Ivan? Perish the thought.

Listen to Nan Madol by Edward Vesala and open your mind to life’s precious gifts.

        • :smiling: Kralin, it’s your bedtime mate. I would hate to see Carolyn disappointed not reading your early morning comments 🙂

        • Ivan, I never knew you were the designated “silly chat” police here!! :hippo:

    • Take a long holiday high up the mountains where there is no radio, tv or internet coverage. Come back later and find yourself at the top of the league 🙂

      • Ha ha, looks like I am stuck with the OCD then!

  5. Shaw

    • Hegazi from last season comes to mind… And remember what happened to him? He got relegated…

      • It’s good you mentioned that. You beat me to it. I was going to trot Hegazi out (not tonight though) as I’m sure some unheralded 4.5 defender will do well this weekend and will be jumped on.

But, it’s a natural thing. The bias of hindsight.

  6. Is Elle around ?

Got a telling off for not reading emails ..sorry bud.

Something about deleting my h2h league and entering a new one.
