Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1.
We hope you enjoyed your long summer break. Ahem, let’s try that again. Anyway, you get the picture.
We hope this finds you and all your loved ones relatively safe and well. And welcome back to Live Match Chat. For those of you new to it it’s basically our version of Soccer Saturday but without any annoying flat earthers, big nosed scousers or smarmy Scotsmen. Oh, hang on…
The new season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with a newly bullish Arsenal taking a trip to see whether Fulham learned any lessons from the last time they mixed it with the big boys.
This is followed by just the one 3pm game as Palace host Southampton.
Saturday finishes with the Champions Liverpool welcoming Leeds back in to the big time at 5.30pm and then Newcastle go to West Ham at 8pm.
On Sunday we have two games beginning with newcomers West Brom stepping back up to host Leicester. Followed by two stalwarts as Everton go to their bogey team Spurs.
Monday is unusual (what isn’t these days) as we have two 8pm games. Brighton host a new look Chelsea team and Sheffield United welcome Wolves.
It is of course a reduced GW in that both Manchester clubs were given a break after their European adventures disasters and subsequently Burnley and Villa have the week off too.
The games in full…

Adams did not look good. Will see what DCL looks like tomorrow. EVE have great fixtures.
Adams had a poor first half. Second half he looked fairly lively. Could have easily scored
Thanks Smash
It was a real terrible first day for me, captained mane and it did not workout. Who is sharing the same problem as me?
Hmm, what is your team ?
Captained Mane also buddy. Bad call by us, have to take it on the chin and move on, its only GW1.
Decided to do something different this season and use the TC chip on GW¹.
Was switching till last sec between Auba and Salah, & guess whom I picked
Anyway, 21 points from Auba are better than those 3 from Mani last season.
And I need help. I’ve updated my web page on my profile, but still get directed to someone’s else page
That’s not a bad TC, MHD . TC on a player who actually contributed something is always a positive – there are horror stories of 0-point and 1-point TC picks out there somewhere, I’m sure 😯 !
To link your team, go to ‘Show Gameweek history’ (it’ll open a page called ‘Entry History’) then copy the URL from that page into your profile.
Thanks a lot mate
Hey guys. No Salah hurt a lot. 40 points difference in GW1 itself. Anyways, How was Mane? Couldn’t watch the game. Do we need to worry on form, etc.?
Obviously Salah is not going to get penalty in every game. And I believe Leeds’ def was a bit reckless?
I don’t own Salah myself as well.
Salah looked like he would score 5 6 or even more yesterday.
Mane was Okayish. But very very much below par when compared with Salah
On the whole Liverpool were poor, a game where the failure of both defences was crucial to the game, aside from Salah’s superb volley.
First pen was a joke decision.
VVD free header, superb volley, poor timed tackle correctly resulting in pen.
Mane and Firmino average yesterday.
The goal from Salah that wasnt a penalty was really nice. But as a whole liverpool didnt look very good at all. They wont stand a chance if they play like that next week, but i really doubt that they’ll play like that next week.
Arnold didn’t look too sharp, but I’m keeping him. First game of the season is always somewhat misleading…
good morning..there is a reason why LFC are the defending champions..just need to sort their issues @ the back which i think they will..they will be hard to beat again this year..watch this space :biggun:
Liverpool won the league because of their strength at the back, scoring goals have hardly ever been a problem for them in 30 years.
Mane looked ok to me. It was just Salah’s day though the stats before all heavily favoured Salah. Salah did look sharper to me watching the game. The Liverpool defence looked out of sorts. Robbo looked better than TAA but he’s not had much training so will take a few weeks to get up to speed. On the whole Liverpool looked ok to me for a first game back as I’m sure they won’t be that bad at the back for long
Mane looked ok, could have scored and assisted on an other day. True call with the peno part, but salahs open play goal was class too!
Fair to early to make these calls on premium players. Bradford was the stand out for me. At 5.5m can see him score 10+ goals.
Glad to have capped salah but TAA, mitro and saint maximin all flopped, GW2 wildcard very likely
morning..no need to panic bobbyD..remember its a marathon not a sprint..those players will come good..patience my friend..good things come to those who wait..hang in there..Good luck :agree:
Yeah be patient, 6mln strkers and 5.5mln mids won’t deliver every week. If you get a return in 25-30% of their matches you’ve done well. Or got lucky
As for TAA, Robbo’s better and fuller preseason and also end of last season (if relevant) were well flagged but most chose to ignore.
TAA will be fine in time though.
Way too early. They are not going to return every week. None of them looked bad
3 points from a 5.5m player is pretty good – they’re earning points of more than half their value.
Hoping Kane can get some goals today
Hoping DCL outscores him!
All part of the game that Spurs v Everton game won’t make pleasant viewing for me
Good think the league did start in August :big-lol:
With kane even if he blanks today give him.a chance, he has a nice opening run
Hoping Alli does! 😎
