Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1.

We hope you enjoyed your long summer break. Ahem, let’s try that again. Anyway, you get the picture.

We hope this finds you and all your loved ones relatively safe and well. And welcome back to Live Match Chat. For those of you new to it it’s basically our version of Soccer Saturday but without any annoying flat earthers, big nosed scousers or smarmy Scotsmen. Oh, hang on…

The new season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with a newly bullish Arsenal taking a trip to see whether Fulham learned any lessons from the last time they mixed it with the big boys.

This is followed by just the one 3pm game as Palace host Southampton.

Saturday finishes with the Champions Liverpool welcoming Leeds back in to the big time at 5.30pm and then Newcastle go to West Ham at 8pm.

On Sunday we have two games beginning with newcomers West Brom stepping back up to host Leicester. Followed by two stalwarts as Everton go to their bogey team Spurs.

Monday is unusual (what isn’t these days) as we have two 8pm games. Brighton host a new look Chelsea team and Sheffield United welcome Wolves.

It is of course a reduced GW in that both Manchester clubs were given a break after their European adventures disasters and subsequently Burnley and Villa have the week off too.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 1 from all at FF247!

  1. West Bromwich Albion v Leicester City

    • Shifted justin last min in fear of him not starting… o well

      • I have Justin playing. Just blocking my Mitchell bench points.

        • Same think he’s good until Pereira is back. That then becomes a problem which looks like end of October

    • Bilic parking the bus there. Expect a 5-4-1 off the ball and a 3-5-2 with Pereira in central spaces behind Callum Robinson when in possession.

      • Yeah I’m expecting this game to be tight looking at those teams

  2. Completely off topic question – can anyone suggest for Laptop (HP) buying? This is for normal home user (using mostly for office work, youtube video, live football streaming and few very light games (non-gamer). Option 1 costs 200 Euro more than the other two. I have never used Ryzen before.

    (1) intel i7-10510U 10th gen + Quad core (8 MB L3 cache, 1.8 – 4.9 GHz) + 16 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (integrated) + 1 TB SSD store
    vs
    (2) Ryzen 7 4700U + 8 core (8 MB L3 cache, 2 – 4.1 GHz) + 8 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM (integrated) + 512 GB SSD store
    vs
    (2) intel i5-1035G1 10th gen + Quad core (6 MB L3 cache, 1 – 3.6 GHz) + 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (integrated) + 1 TB SSD store

    • Option 2 is out. Nothing against AMD even if I have never owned an AMD powered laptop before. But the storage is less than the others.
Option 1 is best is money is not an issue. Option 3 is great if you are better off spending the 200 Euro elsewhere. 8GB ram is sufficient for what you state your uses are.

  3. What’s everyone hoping for in this game? I’m hoping Barnes gets a big score as he’s probably my biggest differential!

    • Have barnes to, I’d like him to score and Leicester to lose their cs. Mean but a few ppl in my ml have double at the back.

      • I’d be okay with a loss of a CS along as Justin got an assist for a Barnes goal haha

    • Barnes and Justin! Lots of points for both!

Also have johnston but have no hopes on that one. Changed Ryan/Walton to Johnston/button when Walton got injured. Kinda regreting it now…

  4. Still hope for Brewster. Didn’t make the bench yesterday

    • Yeah, that’s why he is still in my team. I wish they could act a bit quicker though..

      • at this rate I’m hoping they wait a bit. More suitable then for gw6-8 wc smile

  5. This no-flag-offside is not going to fly in the PL, I see a player-revolt coming.

    • I can understand them keeping the flag down if it’s close, but when it’s obviously off, they should raise it

      • That’s a fine line indeed 😉

  6. Furlong is becoming a bit of a handful for Justin (yc)

    • That’s ok, we won’t really be talking about either soon smile
