We hope you enjoyed your long summer break. Ahem, let’s try that again. Anyway, you get the picture.
We hope this finds you and all your loved ones relatively safe and well. And welcome back to Live Match Chat. For those of you new to it it’s basically our version of Soccer Saturday but without any annoying flat earthers, big nosed scousers or smarmy Scotsmen. Oh, hang on…
The new season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with a newly bullish Arsenal taking a trip to see whether Fulham learned any lessons from the last time they mixed it with the big boys.
This is followed by just the one 3pm game as Palace host Southampton.
Saturday finishes with the Champions Liverpool welcoming Leeds back in to the big time at 5.30pm and then Newcastle go to West Ham at 8pm.
On Sunday we have two games beginning with newcomers West Brom stepping back up to host Leicester. Followed by two stalwarts as Everton go to their bogey team Spurs.
Monday is unusual (what isn’t these days) as we have two 8pm games. Brighton host a new look Chelsea team and Sheffield United welcome Wolves.

Having only 1m in the bank, and to get Fernandes in, I have to do Auba->Kdb first to give me the extra 0.5m. Which means a -4ph this week.
Price rises look fine at the moment, but am just dubious about injuries in the meantime.

hold the transfer till nextweek..no need for hits…2 free transfers is better then 1 imo.. :don-t_mention:
agreed Redmen, but price rises might mean I cant get Fernandes and kdb – thats my only concern
I’ve said this all along and nothing has changed I would not want to take out Auba before he plays West Ham. I’ve no problem with a -4 to get Bruno but not by losing Auba yet
Then I may have to carry the FT and maybe do a 4ph the following week depending on how price rises have altered things.
It’s been a terrible GW for me. I hope Chelsea and Wolves get me to average scores of this GW. I’m on 13 points from 7 players. Captain played. Can’t even imagine how. :/

Haven’t made any big changes yet. It looks good on paper expect one/two players but I want it to be converted into points kitty.
evening all..what you guys think of Mahrez as a alternative to KDB and Sterling?? will he get plenty of game time especially since D Silva left..When Mahrez start he usually is explosive..thoughts??? :scratch_one-s_head:
Redmen, I think that ultimately you will likely regret not having either KdB or Sterling.
Mahrez is good. Over the complete season be brings you points which are very good for his price, but again it sometimes pisses to know he is only coming on as a substitute and not starting every match, but as a permanent fixture in your 11 he will definitely deliver for his price in long time. If that’s something you are okay with, then go ahead.

Hi Neilos. Hope you’re well mate. I’d probably hold myself. As tempting as Man U cover is, Spurs have a decent record against Southampton, and we might see a response after today’s poor result. Having two FT’s for next week will give you loads more options too. And you’ll have a better idea of where to invest.

Evening all. I’m seriously considering a hit (maybe even tonight) and I’d appreciate someone to sanitize my thinking for me. My plan all along was to switch Auba & Jimenez to KdB & Martial. Stupidly, I left myself zero wiggle room for price changes, i.e. if/when KdB goes up 0.1 I won’t be able to do these moves. Would it be crazy to make the moves now for a hit to ensure I can still do them?? Can’t believe I’m considering a hit so soon, especially with Auba’s next fixture!!! Thanks.
@Banjo, not sure what the possible price changes look like, but it be great if you could at least clear your CFC players tomorrow before making other moves. I might do something similar, think I rather have the guys I want in sooner rather than later, but I also have the same two CFC players and while moving early is not ideal sometimes it is necessary to get the team you want. In the end just get they guys you want, a -4 is not that much in the grand scheme of things. I f it works out you are a genius who plans poorly for future transfers and if it doesn’t work out you not very smart and plan poorly. 😉
Cheers Mito. Fix reckons they’ll change tomorrow. But I know that can be pretty unreliable at the start of the season. If they change tonight and I didn’t do it I’ll be gutted, but I would much rather (at least) see out the Chelsea game, as you say.
I wouldn’t go taking any hits or even making any moves until at least the GW is over Banjo. Still a long week to go, nothing at all wrong with this team right now. other than your bench fodder. Have faith in your squad.
‘My squad’ was built with KdB and Martial. And then I worked backwards and removed the Manchester players for GW1. I stupidly didn’t consider the risk of price changes, which has left me here. If I do the ‘sensible’ thing and wait then my route to KdB and United cover is really weakened. Hmmm.

According to fplstatistics, there’s little chance in any players rising anytime soon. Bamford’s top on 62.5 – nowhere near 100+ yet.
