Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1.
We hope you enjoyed your long summer break. Ahem, let’s try that again. Anyway, you get the picture.
We hope this finds you and all your loved ones relatively safe and well. And welcome back to Live Match Chat. For those of you new to it it’s basically our version of Soccer Saturday but without any annoying flat earthers, big nosed scousers or smarmy Scotsmen. Oh, hang on…
The new season kicks off on Saturday lunchtime with a newly bullish Arsenal taking a trip to see whether Fulham learned any lessons from the last time they mixed it with the big boys.
This is followed by just the one 3pm game as Palace host Southampton.
Saturday finishes with the Champions Liverpool welcoming Leeds back in to the big time at 5.30pm and then Newcastle go to West Ham at 8pm.
On Sunday we have two games beginning with newcomers West Brom stepping back up to host Leicester. Followed by two stalwarts as Everton go to their bogey team Spurs.
Monday is unusual (what isn’t these days) as we have two 8pm games. Brighton host a new look Chelsea team and Sheffield United welcome Wolves.
It is of course a reduced GW in that both Manchester clubs were given a break after their European adventures disasters and subsequently Burnley and Villa have the week off too.
The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Little Red Lacazette
3 baps?
ODT
I think he’s sitting on 2 BP but still. I’ll take it. So far it has been a decent opening week.
Smash
He could have ended up with a hatty
Smash
Well this beautiful sight softens the Vinagre blow
Colriles
Agreed. I’ve got Justin’s 9 coming in. How you faring so far Smash?
Smash
Happy enough 71 with Werner and Havertz now to go
Little Red Lacazette
Yessir.
Loud Atlas
He’s 2nd on my bench – no chance of coming on :cray2: .
Carolyn
No Pulsic.. ah well, all out on 73 roll on GW2.
Loud Atlas
Great score! I guess he’s still gaining fitness and they’re having him for the Liverpool game
Loud Atlas
*saving, rather!!
Gavy
On 71 with Werner in play. We’ll be close
bees393
Assist for Werner, but then everyone has him.
Loud Atlas
Jorginho still on pens, then!
Gavy
Was hoping he might have been on penos
billisBob
Thoughts on Antonio -> Ollie Watkins?
He was the best player in the championship and feel like Dean Smith will know how to get the best out of him with their previous connection.
Gavy
Hed be a wait and see for me. Villa didn’t score all that many last year
Loud Atlas
It’s well-documented that the Hammers’ upcoming fixtures are about as close to ‘Holy Mother 😯 ‘ as it gets.
Watkins is a decent alternative but he’s unproven at this level.
In short: why not? Worth a punt, as long as you haven’t got any other pressing transfers.
billisBob
Cheers Gavy and Atlas.
Both of you are right, defo a punt, but I feel like most strikers are at this price point and – punts are fun! XD
Redmen
took a gamble on captaining Werner..so far so good..now just a goal or 2..
