Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

3:3 – think I need to change who I support or something.

100 games now by Klopp and its still amateur hour at the back and when you compare the signings made – and Watford has spent more than them.

    Embarrassing

      Matt says:

Defence is terrible but I genuinely can’t understand how that final goal wasn’t offside? Ref or linesman should have spotted it but if Liverpool defended properly then it wouldn’t have gotten to that point.

      • RITZ says:

It was a big blow. Can’t really blame the ref, the sub of TAA -> Gomez was horrible.
Also not so sure if it was offside at all, he plays the ball backwards, doesn’t he? Hence, no offside.

        • Matt says:

I’m not sure it was backwards tbh. Even so with this new offside rule Britos is interfering with Mignolet so he’s offside but I don’t think that rule is understood properly anyway.

        • RITZ says:

You are right Matt, just heard Clattenburg said it was indeed offside due to Britos’ position. Sucks but can’t really do anything about it smile

        • Matt says:

That’s what I was thinking. This VAR can’t come in soon enough. Bloody ridiculous

        • billisBob says:

I genuinely have no idea why fifa find video refereeing so hard to implement. Have an extra fourth official watch the different angles of contentious decisions from the side of the field and tell the ref in his ear piece what to do. It’s frustrating to be able to spot the correct decision in 20 seconds at home with video and hear the excuse ‘it’ll slow the game down’. It’s such an easy fix and removes unfair decisions that can be an important difference in a sport of fine margins.

That said, Liverpool from set pieces are horrendous. sad

      • TheDreamers says:

Offside or not though Matt, if they could just bloody defend it would be irrelevant.
