Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

    Guys,
Have jesus, Aguero and Firmino as forwards,
I thought I need to get Lukaku tonight to avoid being price out.
Aguero seems straightforwards for direct swaps, what you guys reckon?

Really tough that. Both teams looked good at the weekend. Given as you have Jesus though I’d split that difference and do it.

      Gavy says:

I’d go for that. Was a harsh yellow card for Jesus and he’ll score goals too. I would take a -4 Just yet

My gut are supportive on three of them. Not willing to take out the Mancity assets as they were doing well and so did Firmino.
But Kaku seems a 0.3 rise imminent this week,
I thought Aguero and Jesus and all get 20+ goals this season. Aguero looks in a more supportive role to Jesus.
You guy will take out Aguero?

      • inittowinit says:

Reluctantly I would yes. That’s more down to Lukaku ownership though and keeping pace with the pack. I can see him scoring most weeks in all honesty and he will be a captain pick in most too. Kun and Jesus will score for sure but you’re hoping that they’ll get a fair share of a smaller pie in terms of there being 2 of them as opposed to Lukaku being the main striker / threat on his own.

        • yanwo says:

I agree your point. To split is a solution as Kaku has high owership. Jesus looks like dropping by the end of the week as well.
My thoughts were, Mancity is strong in attack. Kun likely to assist Jesus to score or vice versa. No headache there to choose between them. Say If I keep hold of Jesus and Kun keeps banging in goals, Jesus keeps blanks. I will be hitting myself. My problem is the same as Silver’s one as well.

        • inittowinit says:

I agree. That’s why it’s so tough to split them. Really need 5 striker slots this season! We’ll all be hiding behind the sofa at some point each week, be it when Spurs / Liverpool / United or City play. I’ve no City strikers myself and I fear every City game as a result. Basically you just need to make a decision and suck it up smile

I go straight swap Kun for Lukaku, since you have Jesus. I wouldn’t like to take a hit when selling a healthy Kun, that could really turn painful.
