Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

Morning all interesting 2nd day who wound have thought Che would get beat by Bur with two goals from Vokes shaky start from Che.

Pool chipped in with a no defending policy & we all knew the love would be shared , Firmino penalty certainly makes him a more interesting proposition, will we be able to separate Mane & Salah at the end of the season , pick one roll with it.

Cry v HUD did we really all thk Cry would come out flying for those who have Zaha & Ben keep an eye on them. As for HUD where Brookyboy this Mounie guy two goals & a booking big lad put himself about I thought they couldn’t score but don’t get carried away this is HUD

Now we all knew what would happen @ goodison park a Sherk goal no really I’m please for him he knows where e goal is.

Well we all got that wrong Cedric starts what we didn’t is a Sou clean sht if you have a Sou def keep him if not get one.

Great J Rod start up front but we should all know WBA score from a set piece they. Lock the shop up but one good thing are tip Hegazy scores just a shame he is on my bench.

City Kun what can I say my tip for the league don’t have him at your cost.

Not looking fwd as the most Cap starts & I don’t have him good luck everyone today 😉

Good snapshot of yesterday games silvers ..when I picked my 1st draft I had Vokes in it and I might go back to it. His 1st fixture had put me off a good start but if you look at his minutes and points last season there is potential there. He will have more minutes now that Gray is gone

      • Silvers says:

Morning Ron yes need to look if J Rod is worth keeping he played well whist on his own up front once Rondon came on wasn’t as effective so Vokes , Mounie just might be worth looking at

You do ok yesterday I have 54 with 3 to go so I will take I captained Kun no Luk could damage me today though 😉

Hey guys. I had a poor start with 28 with four to play. Minus one from fab and Alonso combined was a bit of a shocker. Anyway who’s the best replacement for fab? What’s thinking maybe willian/ramsey/ anyone else?
    Thanks guys.

    Rosco77 says:

Is it worth giving Jrod another few games or should I bite the bullet and get in Mounie or Vokes? What are people’s thoughts in similar positions?
Ideally I want to give players a few matches and not follow the points but sometimes it’s beneficial to also get in early, ah it’s good to be back on the hamster wheel!

I hate that dilemma – catch the price rise or back who you have put your faith in for a bit longer. Burnley’s fixtures are hot and cold and, let’s be honest, they won’t be scoring many against the other top sides. Huddersfield was a freak result, although I always thought their playstyle was better-suited to the PL than the Championship.

FWIW, you bought JRod for a reason. Absent injuries/suspensions I rarely make a GW1 transfer.

Thanks guys that’s my thoughts too but it’s always good to get other perspectives!

I’ve got two teams ( long story ) again this season, and I went with Mounie in that so I haven’t totally missed out!

My second team is the one I take risks … currently 59 fun team… 46 proper team… guess risks can work but will be interesting to see how the two fair over the season!

Last season started similar but by the end of the season my ‘sensible team’ ended 2k and fun team 8k so let’s see if this season follows suit!

Hey Rosco I have same dilemma R Rod looked good until Rondon came on but HUD & Bur won’t have many GW like that stick with it 😉

      • Rosco77 says:

Cheers Silvers, barring injuries I’m def going to stick and take 2 FT into GW3, ideally I’ll try and keep that tactic up as it allows far greater options rather than just bouncing to the latest high scorer at that price point!

    BennyB says:

Simple question, Ince and Rangel out for Xhaka and Hegazi for a hit before the prices change tonight?

I don’t like having non-starters in the team, but I need to raise an extra 0.5 to get Rangel out.

      jamesimmo says:

If you don’t like starting with non-starters then why did you… start with one? 😉

Hegazi and Xhaka have probably just posted their best scores for the whole season… I wouldn’t panic just yet.

Xhaka has nasty fixtures coming up whilst Ince has Newcastle at home next. However, if you wanna be a money-making machine, those are definitely the transfers to make.
