Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 1. As the great Bruce Buffer would say “IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSS TTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMEE!” Here we go, the planning stage is over and the moment has come to test all your pre-season theories. This season we don’t even have to wait until the weekend either, as the season kicks off on a Friday night. The invincible Arsene Wenger and his boys take on the now “back where they belong” Leicester.

Saturday hits us with a lunch time feast as Watford welcome in Liverpool and their high octane attack. Three o’clock has five fixtures on the slate. The Champs grab their first 3 points when they face Burnley, Palace host newcomer Huddersfield, The Toffees tangle with Stoke, Saints pummel Swansea and The Baggies back from vacation finally after leaving in February mix it up with The Cherries. The Saturday fixtures finish up when recently promoted Brighton tries their hand at figuring out why City paid that much for that defence.

Sunday hits us with the last two fixtures. Newcastle reacquaints themselves with the Premier League when they face Harry Kane and company, geez, what a welcome back. The late game pairs up Man United side versus a Hammers team whose big acquisitions were in part, three old Manchester leftovers, Chicha, Zaba and Hart.

  1. Note to self for the rest of the season.Dont swap your captain (that you have had locked in all week) at the last minute !!! :noshake:

  2. Some fantastic scores above. Great start for you lads. Congratulations.

And if you haven’t had such a good one remember it’s a marathon not a sprint.

    Great to have it back!

    • 72 for me Sir

Would you keep Daniels if you had him? Or get Cedric in his place?

      • Said to someone earlier that I would prefer Southampton to Bournemouth’s defence and would have from the start.

Bertrand impressed me most from the extended highlights I watched.

        • The only downside to having Soton defenders is that you get told off by Banjo for having them. Hahaha smile

        • Cheers Sir
But getting Bertrand would mean there 5.5mn defenders for me. Danilo Bertrand and Davies
          Won’t be too much right?

        • I have 0.5mn ITB
Saved it in case I would need

So Daniels to Bertrand is feasible

          But worth 3 5.5 defs?

        • Ake could be a gem again. He managed 1 bps in a 1-0 defeat. Considering buying him for Luiz and upgrade somewhere else.

        • DMC
How did Luiz come up here? 😉

          Wrong post?

        • Ah you were talking about your team
          Silly me

          My bad mate
          Apologies

        • Only you, Horse… I’ll let the others off 😉

        • Nishant

If it was on free transfer and the cash was there I would go Bertrand.

You can always downgrade a defender later but what’s the worry having three at 5.5 if they are all scoring well?

        • Yes it is for a FT
I know it sounds dumb but I saved 0.5mn at the start of the season for flexibility issues in case I needed in GW 1

          Guess it helped
          smile

          Thank you Sir
          Daniels to Bertrand it is

  3. Evening guys!
So a bang average 74 for my linked team, running 2 teams again with the other my designated fun team…. maybe I should spend less time debating and more tine just having fun!! Should be interesting to see where they both are on 37 weeks!
Great scores on here so well done all!

    • Fantastic score Rosco

      • It’s a bloody belter horse! Just wish it was the team I’ve entered into the regs and what not! It is in the normal 247 league though!
It’s actually quite therapeutic running 2 teams as I can assess how different tactics work, last year i found that it was very often a good week for 1 and then it would switch. I like to mix it up and try different things and it helps me not chase bandwagons to a degree!

        • Yep I am with you Rosco on the 2 team thing thought I dont do it anymore. On my fun team I just gambled and went with my heart and didnt over analyse it too much. It’s good to try diffeent things out. Good luck with it and keep posting how they are getting on.

        • Will do horse!!

      • So it’s not just me that runs 2 teams.I agree with everything you boys have said.Thing is my 2nd team out performs my first team of late !!

    • I would call over 80 average. My game plan is to aim for 60 points a week (easier said then done) 60 × 38 = 2,280. I finished 2,035 last time in the top 500k so want to break 300k this time

      • Technically speaking 58 is the average this week, aiming for mid 60s is a sound tactic! Last year I finished 2k on about 2300 points so my aim is to beat that but i doubt I will!

        • So my auto correct kill that last post. Meat to say anything over 80 be class. I’d say 6p will be average though. Luku had 48% tsb

  4. 79 for me, but had Hegazi on the bench sad

And Fabregas in midfield, the stupid little twat. Any suggestions for his replacement? I’m thinking Ramsay at the moment, although tempted to go for Albrighton and spend the change elsewhere later. He will get points from his crosses, that’s for sure.

  5. 72 for me
And I will just walk away happily with it
Should remain in the 300 400k mark I suppose

    • FFF shows projected rank 706900 for 73 points. Really hope that’s wrong

      • Wow smile

        • Fix is showing 165k and I’m on 84

        • That is a nice score

I scored 93 points last season and was 50 overall
          Yes true. 50
          Just 50. Fifty

But ended the season on a miserable 83k overall

It’s a funny game this smile

        • 93 points in GW 1 of last season

  6. I ended up with 57 points. Thought it was putrid until I checked the score of my H2H opponent and saw he ended up with only 51.
