Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 10

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 10.

No early deadlines this week – not even a Saturday lunchtime kick-off. We don’t get started until 3pm on Saturday. Ah the good old days are back. Well for a week anyway.

We have five 3pm matches to get us under way, some more exciting than others it has to be said.

Brighton vs Wolves and Southampton vs Newcastle have the capability to send the most die-hard footy fan to sleep. Liverpool vs Cardiff will have most of us expecting to need a calculator to total our FPL points, while Bournemouth will be licking their lips at the thought of an afternoon’s shooting practice vs Fulham. Watford vs Huddersfield complete the quintet.

The evening match sees the Hammers & Arnie limp up to Leicester.

The Sabbath sees a Holy Trinity of matches – first up Sarri and his cheer leaders on the bench go to Burnley, while fellow Europa competitors Arsenal cross the Thames to face Palace.

The later game sees Fellaini present host Fellaini past at Old Trafford.

The best may yet be to come though as Spurs host Man City at their temporary housing shelter. Time for Kane or time for Kun?

Enjoy and go well.

The games in full…

Morning squad. Hope you all had a great gameweek. I would like your feedback on my team. I have 3.1 itb and 1 ft.

    Hey guys,

Hope you’ve all have a good week – I’m on 83 with Ederson and Aguero to go!

Anyhow, I’ve been doing some long term planning, and I’ve started plotting my road to Kane (check his run from GW15 onwards!), and I am after some advice.

Whilst Aguero has served myself and many of us very well this season, by early/mid December, he becomes a serious rotation option, so will regrettable sell for Kane.

So, between GW15 and now, I could – if I wish – make four transfers. My key ones will be getting rid of Fraser and Wilson, who have again served me/us amazingly. However that fixture turn is grim.

My thinking is to sell Fraser immediately. They had United next, and don’t fancy him doing great against them, or any of the mega sides. I am thinking signing Murphy (here me out). I think I will go permantly 4-3-3, and he will rotate nicely with Richarlison (my other midfielder). So those two for the next four games will have Brighton at home, Brighton at home, Cardiff at home, Wolves at home. I get that Cardiff aren’t great but feel like he won’t play much for me other than those two fixtures.

This would leave me with 6.2m for a Wilson replacement, so thinking bringing in Jimenez in GW 13 where Wolves have a decent run.

In short, what do people think of my plan. I know long term planning is a risk, but I would have another two free transfers in this time in case anyone gets injured/falls out of form.

Thoughts on kane after GW15? On getting Murphy short term? And who would you say is the best striker under 6.2m?

    Current squad posted below.

    Cheers guys!

    hi folks
in a drunken state I pressed wildcard on saturday night, sold Alonso who I had from week two, currently on 25 points for this week I had Robertson as captain and hazard as vice, I made my changes last weekend and didnt go back on. Any know if my captain moves on to my most expensive player or I lose out?
    my current wildcard team is
    pickford
Robertson, Alonso,(yes i bought him back) Mendy
    martial, salah, hojbjerg, hazard, capoue
    wilson, aguero

    ryan, long, wan-bis, duffy

0.3 in the bank, any advice or suggests more than welcome, martial and pickford werent in my thinking until after this game week.

      EBC says:

I’d go with Leno & Bennett instead of Pickford & Duffy.

Your midfield is weak (as is Long on the bench – don’t spend 4.8 on someone who doesn’t play). Salah to Mane would give you a lot to play with – upgrade Capoue & Long or switch Long to Kamara and upgrade Hojberg. If you can squeeze in KDB then go for it.

    Afternoon chaps
    Need your advice
My teams ok, but missing something?
I’ve never got 2 ft, but this week I have.
With 0.2 itb what needs tweaking,
    Don’t mind a hit..!
    Plz help
    Thx.
Btw getting fed up with Neves 2 pointers,
    Don’t need Foster,
Bought in Arno gwk 9 and done Fxck all.

      EBC says:

Agree Neves out is a priority but hard on your budget.

Any of your big hitters you’re happy to downgrade?

      • Bigpopz says:

        EBC

        Thx reply
Any big hitters you think I should cash in?
If so who’d you bring in.

        • EBC says:

Comes down to personal preference but I’m questioning whether it’s time to swap Salah for Mane to free up cash for Hazard & one of KDB/Aguero while still having decent mid range players.

That said, I do think Salah is a much more reliable captain than Mane. He’s more consistent and gets more minutes.

Aguero is testing my patience with his 60 min appearances.

The other option is chipping away with small savings (Foster, Mendy, Mitrovic) but that takes time.

      elcfc says:

Your team is not a million miles from mine, but I would advise a few changes.

      Neves, Cedric, and Foster out.

Murphy (Cardiff), Hamer (Huddersfield) in. See what you have left for a Cedric replacement. Could you get Luiz?

    EBC says:

10 games in – time to reflect for a bit of fun?

“The great shout – best original pick” – A month or so ago I’d have said Mitrovic but he probably should have gone by now. Think Robertson edges it now.

“Lets pretend it didn’t happen pick” – No contest here…Joe Ralls, what was I thinking!?

Best transfer – Of the 9 transfer I’ve made, most of them have made my team worse. Pererya in for Walcott this week has been the most positive in week 1 but Fraser edges the award for longevity.

Worst transfer – It’s hard to believe Joe Ralls out could make my team worse but it has. Thanks for nothing Anthony Knockaert.

Number of players still around from GW1 – 9, not bad.

“The one who got away” – Probably Hazard. Had him in an early draft but ditched him because of the world cup. Time to get him in this week.

Tip – Important to have some sort of plan but go with your gut and don’t over think it (see the Fraser/Ralls debacle)

      AT says:

Fun idea EBC. Not sure I’ll remember some of them without having a good dig through my team:

The great shout – best original pick – Mendy!

“Lets pretend it didn’t happen pick” – same as Cook. Peltier.

Best transfer – Brought Fraser in for his 18 haul. Or Doherty before his big two weeks, but he’s gone off the boil a little, points wise.

Worst transfer – Arnautovic so far. Since bringing him in: 1, 1, 0. Ouch

Number of players still around from GW1 – I believe it’s 9, although that includes Peltier and Stekelenburg

“The one who got away” – Never had Hazard. I mooted Barkley a few weeks back. Might be too late now

Tip – read Swirly’s tips articles and back his GKs laugh

      Zed Leppelin says:

The Great Shout – Got Doherty on my WC hust before he got 12, 12, and 15 points within a span of 4 gameweeks

Let’s Pretend It Didn’t Happen – Started the season with Jota…

      Best Transfer – Hazard

Worst Transfer – Maddison thus far, brought him in for Pereyra two weeks ago and Pereyra scores back-to-back while Maddison’s done f all… Well, the jury is still out on that one (hope the tables will turn) 😉

Number of players still around from GW1 – 6, well, 7 if you count the non-playing keeper Hamer as well …

The One That Got Away – (C)un in GW2 definitely the season defining moment so far!

      • AT says:

Season defining? It only cost you 11 points, unless you’re claiming it also changed the way you’re playing the game 😉

        • AT says:

Haha, I was only being facetious!

Zed is only 30 points off me, so I guess Zed not captaining Aguero that week did give me an advantage. Aguero (c) in GW2 + Pickford’s last two tallies are why I am beating Zed laugh

        • AT says:

Just checked your rank. ‘minion’ at 34k? laugh

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah, 11pts that are forever lost in a fantasy limbo… I will never get those 11pts back, although I had the captaincy on Kun for a whopping 10 078 minutes that week, and only 2 last minutes of the week on Salah… :woot:

        • AT says:

I think it’s time to forgive (yourself) and forget laugh

You’re doing pretty well all things considered though. Top 100k early doors is a great platform for the rest of the season.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah, after the WC in GW5 (I think) I’ve done well! Just gotta stay patient, I think I took too many hits last season which was my worst ever season.
