Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 11

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 11. We are back with a Saturday lunchtime kick-off as Bournemouth attempt to keep up their recent good form and make Jose even more miserable and negative, if that is indeed possible. We then have just four games at 3pm ahead of an extended and unusual evening program. At 3pm we have Cardiff hosting Leicester in what will be an emotion filled occasion, Everton will be looking to get back to winning ways with a home game against traditionally poor travellers Brighton, Newcastle will be seeking, and probably failing to get, their first win against a more than vibrant Watford and West Ham will have the red carpet out for Joe Hart.

Saturday evening is a husband’s delight and a wife’s nightmare and many a remote will be wrestled over. And no doubt many a husband banished to the shed to watch the games on their mobile! Arsenal play Liverpool in the traditional 5.30pm slot before we then get the bonus of Spurs going to Wolves at 7.45pm. Both could be crackers in their own right.

Sunday is a bit of a strange one as the two games overlap each other. Man City kick us off at 3pm as they see how many they can put past Southampton in what is usually referred to as ‘shooting practice’. Chelsea and Palace then lock horns at 4pm in a local (ish) derby.

The gameweek concludes on Monday with a preview (the way things are looking) of one of next seasons Friday Night Championship clashes as Huddersfield host Fulham.

The games in full…

  1. Thoughts here I have 0.2 in the bank and two free transfers. I’ve wanted Arnie for weeks but always been just short and got punished today. I’m 0.1 short of Mitrovic to Arnie. I have the exact cash to do Arnie and Diangana (who is looking decent) for Success and Maddison.

    • Whoooooo?!

    • Hi Smash
I think you need to get rid of Mitro and possibly Maddi to give you funds to do it. If you see my post above I asked about various mids between 6.5 and 7.5. I am getting Richarlie but you already have him! You may get more cash to sort Peltier to a playing bench warmer.

      • Yeah it’s a shame I’m 0.1 short. Peltier is a liability but can sort him on wildcard later. Maddison has an easy run of fixtures but has not done anything for a while now

  2. Wolves v Spurs

  3. Losing 0-1, but I am happy with the way we played so far…did not expect to play against Pool like this.

    • Well 1-1 now and we played much better than Liverpool. Post Wenger era is taking momentum.

      • Dont think you played better at all! Was a good goal, both team deserved a draw

        • Honestly I expected we would lose 0-2 considering our defence – its still not good, but today played well to stop the trio. Emery is trying to put things in place slowly.

      • neither team were really great to be fair. both goals were pretty good and lapse of concentration from both keepers. good result

    • Probably a fair result I suppose. Liverpool will feel hard done by for having a perfectly good goal disallowed. Salah should’ve found Mane in injury time to win it. Both keepers looked a little dodgy.

  4. Should that be a Mane assist or was there an Arsenal touch before Milner scored?

    • arsenal touch kruz

    • It was not a shot on goal…so rebound will not be considered as assist

      • You sure about that rule? I thought it would have been a Mane assist had it not touched another arsenal player after the keeper?

        • Below is the rule – I am sure they will have a relook. But does not look positive for awarding.
          Rebounds
If a shot on goal is blocked by an opposition player, is saved by a goalkeeper or hits the woodwork, and a goal is scored from the rebound, then an assist is awarded.

        • “An assist can be awarded for a pass or cross, even if an opponent gets a touch before the goal is scored. However, that touch must not significantly alter the intended destination of the ball.”

So I guess it comes down to an opinion as to whether it ‘significantly’ altered the direction of the ball?!

        • Looks like you heavily need the Mane assist. Lets see if FPL awards _ I won’t mind that if they review. But below clause does not hold true at all because Mane’s cross from left flank was significantly (90 degree) altered by Leno to Milner. smile

“An assist can be awarded for a pass or cross, even if an opponent gets a touch before the goal is scored. However, that touch must not significantly alter the intended destination of the ball.”

        • Mane won’t get an assist for that. And I’m not that fussed about it either!

I was just generally interested in the point that said ionly rebounded shots warranted an assist.

        • I had an amazing game…I am Gunners and have Mane+Salah+Robo in my FPL team. So that Lacaz goal actually made me jump and cry together. smile

    • he scored a goal which was not given by mistake and then not awarded for the assist. he is really unlucky

  5. 26 from 6 and the rest left to play on sun and mon. will be happy to end with 50+ with aguero (c), barkley, alonso, mendy and mitro to play.

  6. Awful week so far. 16pts from 6 players. Sick to death of Maddison. Nothing from him in weeks. Who best to swap him for? Even if it takes a hit. Grrrr….

    • damn. wonder if we have the same players bee. can you link your team or profile page?

      • I have linked my account. What a bummer of a week! Let me know if my if you can see my team. All the best mate!

        • hi bees. doesnt show directly. try in this format – https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/126188/history .

go to gameweek history which should get you your personal link and then paste it in profile. should work

        • your grav has gone…

        • Oh dear! Think you’ve messed up / confused both Bees. Can’t help on our end as we don’t have either your Grav account details or your FPL page, obviously! Just email us if you need assistance.

        • Thanks for all your comments. Finally got my gravatar back. Tried to link my account, but don’t know if I succeeded or not.
Would appreciate it if you could let me know.
Hope your game week so far is better than mine!

        • hi bees. might take a few minutes for the fpl link to update. glad to see u gor ur grav back

    • Plenty of options around that price. Dunno who else you’ve got, but I’d be looking at Richarlison or Martial.

      • I like them but both have poor match ups next week. Here is my team.
        Thanks!

        • Think I may be more inclined to move Mitrovic on for Arnie.

However hold your transfer horses until after the European games.

This GW is far from over so you should get a decent points’ total.

    • I don’t know how Maddison became so popular…his underlying stats have been too poor even when he got those 8 pointer weeks. I guess LEI fixture was enticing more than Maddison’s form. Anyway, fixture is still good – there are UCL matches mid-week, wait and see how Barkley plays. Deulofeu had plethora of chances today and missed all. Brooks/Stanislas all played well.

    • Richarlison, though Everton have some tricky games looming. However Cardiff and Newcastle home games help soften the tricky fixture blow.
